  1. After all this positive input on the FO, I suppose it's time I go give it a try!!! :smiley2:
  2. I have some but up to this point have only sniffed it OOB. To me, it doesn't smell ANYTHING like real lavender. But maybe I need to put it in something to be sure.
  3. We can say we knew you when...
  4. What a wonderful opportunity!!!! Congrats indeed!!! *super banana* My advice, just be yourself! It's what got you the interview in the first place, isn't it?
  5. I've read that chlorophyll is a good colorant. Haven't yet tried it, though.
  6. Thanx for the tips, Robin and mbrown!!! :highfive:
  7. Thanx for the suggestions about medium quantities, Nodtveidt. That gives me a new perspective that I hadn't considered.
  8. I think part of the reason why my soap scent faded was because I just had it out in the open, like I thought sunshine would help it. My friend did later mention that I should keep it in a cool, dark area...away from sunlight. I'm gonna try it again and see what happens. There was also a thread where people were saying that you need an "anchor" scent when using some EOs like lavender. Not sure what would anchor lavender, though. It's a learning process. But I really would love to go the natural route, as much as possible. I have to admit though, I do loves me some Cyclo!
  9. Hi there! I'm just beginning to try using EOs. Don't really know much about them...yet. I have a friend who is an aromatherapist and reiki healer (don't know if that's the right word). She gives me a lot of good tips. I posted a thread about some soap I made with Lavender EO. It was fantastic...then the scent faded fast. I use it myself and I really love it. It now has a soft scent but it feels great. Not sure if it's just the aroma or if the EO is actually doing something to me. I love how it wakes me up in the morning! Anyway, would love to exchange ideas and info from time to time. At this point, not sure how much help I'd be to you though. :embarasse
  10. I would like feedback on something I've been mulling in my mind. When one is ready to start selling but obviously just starting out, do you think it best to buy supplies in bulk in order to obtain the lowest pricing or to just buy minimally? I am perplexed by this. On one side, buying in bulk would allow for lower pricing and/or increased profits. On the other, for a newcomer to the business there's the potential risk of not having sales often enough and simply having a huge inventory on hand. So to all you seasoned sellers, assuming the person has the storage space and that there are really no other outstanding issues, which option is best: buying in bulk or as needed? TIA.
  11. I've recently begun trying their FOs. I only have a few but they seem to be pretty good. With other suppliers, I've had problems finding an FO that will give a good throw in everything (soap, candles, body sprays). So far, WSP's work well. Like tarynjms said, read the reviews. They are very helpful. Because of the price I would suggest getting a very small sample first (2ozs is usually enough for me.)
  12. Hi sosweet, I think the reason you can't see the co-op info is that you're too new to the forum. I think you have to be a member for X amount of days and have X amount of posts before you can join in a coop. Not sure what "X" represents in this case, though. ....Ooops I see LovelyLathers beat me to the punch!
  13. If you are in Kentucky, why not purchase it from the Chemistry Store? It costs a bit less and I'm sure shipping would be cheaper. :undecided
  14. Baby Powder from Cajun Candles! You'd think it'd be annoying after a while...nope!
  15. LOL!!! This is great! I was beginning to think something was wrong with me. But knowing how the rest of you store things (especially Luci) makes me feel better. People come to my house and think I'm a pack rat cuz I've got FOs all over my living room, cases of wax in my kitchen stacked up, oils and butters in my basement....basically stuff's everywhere! I do need to get it all organized a bit better. But nice to know I'm not the only one with wax and butters and fo's in my living areas.
  16. I wasn't exactly sure where to put this as it relates to candles, B&B and whatever else. My question for those who work out of their homes is, how do you store your product inventory? I was thinking of getting some plastic crates to store finished products (so that they can be moved around easier) and shelving for raw materials. I am wondering if others have ideas that I've not thought of. So what are some of your tried and true home warehousing ideas? TIA
  17. Congrats on taking the leap!!! M&P is some fun stuff, is it not? As for a supplier, BCN might be a good option. I've tried their bases and they aren't bad. I really like the Mango Butter base the best! Rosehip base is a close second. I just ordered the Silk & Shea base (think that's what it's called) from WSP. I've heard lots of good things about it. And I think they'd be pretty close to you as well. My preference is SFIC bases, but I have not found a close supplier yet (I get it from Peak's). If anyone knows of a supplier close to Wisconsin, PLEEZ let me know! Have fun with your newest passion!
  18. Wow! That is wonderful!!!! :highfive: Cheers!!!!
  19. You might want to browse the Fragrance section. You also might get a better response there as well.
  20. Thanx for the info, asheebeans. I just checked their site and I see they have a pretty high minimum order. I know I won't need to place an order that big. Darn!!!
  21. Wow!!! I swear, just today I was thinking of trying different versions of both those scents!!! How do I get a newletter? Can you provide a link? Thanx.
  22. Thanks for the tips, sudsnwicks. I have to remember to make that differentiation from "leave-on" versus "rinse-off" products.
  23. That's not right. If there's an adjustment to shipping, they should contact the customer BEFORE shipping to make sure the customer is aware of any additional charges. I've had them adjust my shipping too, but they did call to tell me first. Sorry for your poor treatment.
  24. Thanx and yeah I've been using the 4oz size with 3oz cyclo, .5oz fco and .5oz fo. For some fragrances, it's adequate. But for others...not so much. I want to up the FO, but wouldn't want to be harmful to a person's skin. :undecided
