  1. I've never used it for candles, only soaps and lotion. But yes, you have to use more than usual. There's is just the best version I've ever found, though.
  2. Madina has a spot on Egyptian Musk FO at a very good price. But the fragrance is so light, you have to use a lot of it.
  3. I've used WSP's and SOS's. Both are very close to the original, but I think SOS's is better. It's expensive, though.
  4. I've never used a neutralizer with FBB, but it WILL turn brown with fo's containing vanilla.
  5. Sounds like you went above and beyond, Shawnee. Wow, I just can't imagine people in such an uproar over candles in the first place! Cursing people out??? Just too much!
  6. Wow! Interesting! I've only used it in M&P and in paraffin wax and in both of those it is SUPER strong. So much that I usually have to go with less the standard amount when using that scent.
  7. Well this is good info. If I ever do a fundraiser, I'll be aware of this potential hazard. Perhaps as part of the "lesson learned", next time just include in your literature that the turnaround time is contingent upon receiving funds in by a specified date. Or, if you packaged the orders individually, you could put a little note in each order explaining the delay. It's a lot of trouble to have to go through, but it will ensure your company name is not tarnished. So sorry you had to go through that after all your hard work.
  8. I agree with Maggie. If I didn't get what I paid for, I'd be going to the person that took my money (i.e., the sponsor) not the manufacturer. I'm betting she is putting the blame on you too!
  9. I LOVE the layers on that brown one!!! They all look nice to me, though. Good job!
  10. In terms of FO, I've tried Peak's and Cajun Candle's. Cajun's is really strong and a dead on dupe.
  11. Great swirls! I am in a daze! *faint*
  12. Pretty! Would love to see how that develops over time.
  13. I have used Reynold's Wrap and Sam's Wrap. No problems with either.
  14. I believe rose and vanilla makes the baby powder scent...equal parts of each.
  15. I use 4794 and have no problems with scent throw either. If you are using 1oz pp, my guess is your wick might be the issue. I prefer CD wicks with this wax, but sometimes an LX is best.
  16. ah-soy, I thought about trying the Orange Cucumber too! But the reviews were saying it was too light. Do you agree? Oh and I REALLY love the lavender!!
  17. He sure is going to a lot of trouble for a few tarts! LOL!
  18. Ok, I see what you mean. I was assuming "sink hole" and "dip that requires a repour" were synonomous (sp?). No, I've never had actual holes in my votives, but I get the dip all the time. I don't poke relief holes though, just fill up the hole with more wax.
  19. You don't get sink holes at all??? What temp are YOU pouring at?
  20. No, I don't poke relief holes in my votives. Maybe some others here do. I don't know. I have never had a problem. My reasoning is that they are so small there is not much room to get air bubbles anyway. Perhaps a more seasoned chandler can chime in (I've only got 1 year under my belt).
  21. I have the Madagascar and really like it! It turned my M&P soap slightly brown. Body butter is a great idea! I also have Bladderwrack. I like it but DB didn't like it so much, and he is more into EOs than I could ever be.
  22. I usually wait til it's almost (or even fully) cooled. Then I heat the additional wax to about 10 degrees hotter than the first pour. Works like a charm.
