  1. IMO the only thing missing is somthing citrusy and possibly a bakery type smell. I always look for the orange and bakery, sweet scents.
  2. Thank you. I needed that reassurance, my mom kept making me doubt myself saying the old labels were better. So I've been going over them every few minutes debating on what to change. I liked them also, but wanted to make sure others did as well. Thanks.
  3. It remind me of the light caramel candies. It looks really good.
  4. I originally had clear gloss labels on my products (sprayed with Krylon), but they weren't waterproof. They just had "Domaly" on them, (pic attached). So I decided to go with white circle vinyl waterproof and put them on the tops. (lining up circle labels on the printer is a big pain though, still working on that) I have included pics (Not edited pics, just took a real quick pic) of the new labels and would like your opinions as to how they look. Keep in mind though I am working on centering them still, the printer keeps cutting off the letters.
  5. This is crazy, I could see if this product was targeted to adults, but 12 year olds. There's way too many precautions and things to research before just attempting this as a kid. I wouldn't let my kids let alone my little sister (who is 16) play around with lye. Hopefully parents will read whats included before buying these for there kids.
  6. Thank you so much. Just what I was looking for.
  7. Never tried boysenberry powder before, but I have seen it used in milk baths before.
  8. You don't have to melt it all the way down if it is really soft, but in my experience if I don't melt the shea all the way I get the graininess. I usually make the other butters soft, then melt the shea all the way down and pour over the other butters. If you are just keeping the product for yourself and the grains don't bother you, I don't think you would have to toss it, but if you are looking for a name to sell it, I would try again.
  9. Does anyone use fruit extracts in there products? I always find some here and some there, but I'm wondering if there is a place that has a large selection or even fruit powders in a variety. Thanks.
  10. I think the graininess may be from the shea not the mango. Did you melt it any before you whipped it up?
  11. I agree with everything that was said above, but depending on how much time you are wiling to put into the learning process it can be learned. If you are just wanting something easy to make overnight, this isn't exactly a good place to start. As with many products it takes a lot of time, research and learning to make mineral makeup. And like stated above finding the exact measurements is to me the most difficult part, there are times that if you don't measure just right, it can mess up everything. Check out the link Robin gave you, it has a lot of helpful info. there.
  12. Yes, that would be the one. But, I just found the link to the kelsie molds and I think I might try one of those for now.
  13. I went to go buy another wooden soap box from brambleberry, but they are sold out right now. Does anyone know if another supplier sells these (with the dividers the same way) or something similar? Also, does anyone know of a place that sells clear pet containers with pink lids. Thanks.
  14. I was going to suggest the FO's also, glad you got it figured out. I can use most fragrance oils, but just recently found out that I can't use white tea & ginger fo. I love the smell, but once I use it I start itching. I still make it though because my sister loves it and has no probelms with it.
  15. Thanks for everyones comments and suggestions, I wasn't aware that they had a sister site for Fo's. I might try a few, but like some of you said if they aren't great than I will buy my FO's From somewhere else. Thanks.
  16. i haven't tried them before, but how are there fragrance oils and supplies? they are more expensive on the fo's than other places, are they better?
  17. This recipe is more of a scrub, but still a body wash using shea butter. Hope it helps as an example. Sweet Orange Exfoliating Body Wash This body wash is super easy to make and smells delicious! Not to mention the orange essential oils will help clear away the dirt and sweat that seems to come with summer. Be sure to use caution when venturing into the sun after using this body wash, as orange essential oil can increase photosensitivity. Ingredients: 3/4 Cup Liquid Castille Soap 1/4 Cup Refined Shea Butter 1/8 Cup Ground Pumice 1 teaspoon Lavender (40-42) Essential Oil 1/8 Cup Sweet Orange Essential Oil 1/4 Cup Apricot Kernel Meal Instructions:Melt the shea butter over low heat on the stove. Once melted pour into a mixing bowl. Slowly stir in the Castille Soap. Stir in the essential oils. Combine the apricot kernel meal and pumice. Mix well. Gently stir into the soap mixture and stir thoroughly. Allow to cool, stirring occassionally. Once thickened pour into an 8 oz. Plastic Container. Scrub will thicken in about two days. For more of a shower get consistency that can be used in a flip top bottle, omit the shea butter.
  18. You can add shea butter to a body wash, but it turns out to be more of a creamy body wash. Not so much of the bubbles, it is more of a moisturizing product.
  19. I was just looking through my little sisters bath items just a few hours ago and she had some of that bath caviar from "Caboodles" - it came in a set of four bath tubes w/ display, it was bath caviar, confetti, and fizzies. I thought it was so cute. Never heard of it before today.
  20. I was looking at this yesterday, but didn't know how it worked. Can you put money into it like paypal and have a debit card. Or can you use paypal and google checkout combined? It looks interesting, but I was interested in the pros and cons of it.
  21. I know this thread was a few weeks ago, but I just had the same thing happen to me this morning. The money was all there, I was waiting on a shipping payment so that I can ship the items and now there is a reversal and a hold on the money. If it does go through again, I'm now afraid to ship it because what if I ship it and it gets reversed again, at least this time I haven't shipped the items yet. I have sent messages to this person, but no response, what should I do?
  22. I haven't used there base, but by looking at the descriptions, ingredients and such. It looks as if they are getting the bases from essentialsbycatalina and selling them for more. Maybe I'm completly wrong, but that is just what I see.
  23. I added the preservative to be safe, I'm not sure how much was originally in the fbb, but mine being in a wide mouth container, water will most likely get into the jar and I didn't want to take any chances.
  24. I haven't got mine from the co-op yet, but I had some on hand and played with it yesterday. I made two items (one of which my sister and mom already got ahold of): 20 oz. fbb 1 oz. monoi de tahiti oil 1 c. brown sugar liquapar optimamango fo It came out looking like a thick tan whipped shea, almost like sugar cookie dough. It felt great on the skin. It put it in a wide mouth container, but like I said it was gone before I even got to try it again. Then, I tried another batch 22 oz. fbb 3 oz. whipped shea (shea, coconut oil, vitamin e) 1 c. white sugar liquapar optima white tea and ginger fo This one was a thinner consistency (I overwhipped), but felt great because the shea gave it a moisturizing feel. I put it in a wide mouth container as well, but if I would have added a little more oil it would have gone great in a malibu tube. edited to add: I don't melt my fbb, I just whip it as is.
  25. My mom just got a puppy this weekend for her anniversary and asked me to look in to making pet shampoos and such. That is a whole other area of research and maybe in a few years, but not now. Although, I did find a great site called cybercanine.com for dog shampoos, mists, salves, etc. maybe you can look at some of there ingredients just as a guide. It would at least give some direction on what can be included.
