  1. I have a few of these and mine do leak a bit, I was considering lining mine also.
  2. Your's looks great, just like whipped cream. Okay, I through it back in the crockpot and let it cook for 3.5 hrs last night. It turned really hard and the color went more see through than creamy. Candlespastore, it looks just like you said like hard vaseline, lol. Then I turned it off and let it sit overnight. I'll wait another day before I try whipping it up. Thanks so much.
  3. Thanks Eugenia, I thought that but none of the other listings said it so I wasn't sure if it was something different.
  4. Herbal Soaps by rj, Natural Lip Balm Tubes with Pink Lid & Dial! Has anyone seen these, I want to know if the lid is baby pink or dark pink and what is the dial?
  5. It only cooked for about 45 min-1 hour. And no it didn't look like a rock, it looked like a creamy goo when I went to bed. Maybe I didn't cook it long enough?
  6. I made cream soap yesterday, using the hp method. I left it over night and when I checked on it this morning it had seperated. I took a stick blender to it and it now looks like taffy. Will it seperate again? Or what is my next step or stage? I joined the cream soap group on yahoo, but my computer won't let me in there right now. Can anyone help me with this?
  7. I figured it was more hype than anything, but I had read somewhere that putting too much caffeine into skin care products can be bad for you. Or did I read wrong?
  8. Has anyone ever seen this soap called Shower Shock, it says that "each bar of Shower shock contains approximately 12 servings/showers per 4 ounce bar with 200 milligrams of caffeine per serving." Is this even safe to put on your body, I wouldn't think that much caffeine would be okay? http://www.thinkgeek.com/caffeine/accessories/5a65/
  9. You are all so great, thanks so much for everyones help. Okay, I made up two new batches of scrubs without the whipping, just stirring the ingredients together. (I also upped my butter a bit) They turned out thick and creamy and so yummy. I guess I was overwhipping my scrubs this whole time.
  10. Essentials bu Catalina does carry shea, mango, and cocoa butter. But, if you want more than a few pounds I would order from else where because there butters are around $7 lb. Even being in Cali. I've notices that ordering the oils in bulk from soapers choice comes out to a better price even with shipping. I also order from glorybee foods, they are closer than some.
  11. I'm still updating my site, and fixing pics and such. It's http://www.domaly.com
  12. I've never heard of them, but I do agree that there packaging is very pretty!
  13. I will have to try using the non whip method, I haven't tried that technique yet. I will let you all know how it turns out, thanks.
  14. That is exactly what I was trying to figure out. I wasn't sure if it was cardstock that is used or not and how to print them. Thank you so much, that helps me a lot.
  15. I make my bath melts in the mini muffin cups and have them in plastic ziploc bags with just a label on them. But, I have seen some that have like a fold over type tab that you staple to the top of the baggie. What would I use to make the tab, is there a place to buy tabs like this? TIA.
  16. jwahlton, those look so good, i will have to try the recipe and see how it comapres to mine. A question, when you whip the ingredients together do you use a stand mixer or a hand mixer and for how long?
  17. My scrubs that I make right now are emulsified and are the texture of a a coolwhip, mousse type texture, but with sugar. I am trying to get a texture like sugar cokie dough. I've tried altering my recipe many times, but it always goes back to the light fluffy feeling. One time I made my scrub and actaully used sugar cookie fragrance, was the one time it felt and looked that texture, but that same recipe won't work again. ah-soy, I thought the same thing about the picture being posed for marketing, but I have felt a scrub in the past that actually felt the way it looked.
  18. carriegsxr6, I saw the ingredients listed, but wasn't sure if some of those ingredients used were to help it emulsify better than just ewax or does that matter? I've even tried a whole bunch of variations on my own recipe, higher precent of butters a few times, higher oil percents, etc.
  19. I have been using the same scrub recipe for my scrubs that I have been for the past two years and love the light, fluffy texture that I am achieving. But, I keep seeing shops that have a scrub that looks super thick and creamy. (Example: http://www.flower-peddler.com/store/product.php?productid=16618&cat=355&page=1, there are other products I have seen but this is just an example.) I have tried testing out different recipes, but cannot seem to get mine as thick looking, mine are more airy like. Is there a special technique to achieve this texture, a different emulsifier than I am using. (I use e-wax nf and stearic) Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks.
  20. Has anyone tried the Candy Cane from Snowtop, I was interested in getting the fragrance from them but wasn't sure.
  21. Space girl, on the mineral foundations you should always choose one shade lighter than you would normally wear. Mineral Foundations are just weird like that, because you can adjust the color to make it darker depending on how much you put on.
  22. I agree with the Bismuth comment above, I don't like that as an ingredient in my products, but then again some like the feel of it. For me, I tried it awhile back when I first tried BareMinerals makeup and it caused my skin to itch and for me to break out even though I was wearing mineral makeup.
  23. Mineral makeup recipes are very hard to find, for me it was more of a trial and error type of thing. I searched all over the net for recipes, but none ever came out the way I wanted. I basically started with a basic formula and started experimenting with recipes then testing on my sister and her friends to see what feel they liked best.
  24. I kept telling myself not to look in the gallery because there's always pics of swap items and what do I do? I go and look, now I can't wait for the swap and am all impatient. I'm in the swap also, it looks great!
