  1. On the aussiesoapsupplies website they have a pink spa minerals and golden spa minerals listed on their site. Are these the same as pink kaolin clay and such, if not do they only sell them in Australia. Thanks.
  2. I have two etsy stores, one for my mineral cosmetics and one for bath and body. It cost $.20 per item to list and the listing is for a four month period. I haven't sold too many items on etsy, but then again I just started listing items about a month or two ago even though I've had it a few months. Some people sell a lot, it just depends on how much you advertise your products. You choose the shipping price at the time you list your items. And you can list it by country also. I charge actual shipping and include the cost of packaging, but not the listing fee.
  3. There's no way I could use that soap and not be creeped out.
  4. I tried it once about a year ago and it was awful. It was super greasy, real thick and chunky and it felt like I was just scooping piles of wax onto my skin. But, thats just my experiment with it, maybe others have had better luck.
  5. LOL! Thats how I usually break upmy 5 lb. cocoa butter, with my fiances tools.
  6. I usually just order 1-5 lbs at a time, but this morning I ordered a 10 lb. box along with my oils. Is it a real pain to deal with?
  7. I didn't want anymore fragrance because of the irritation also. I keep most of the soaps in a cool dry closet, but I think I'll start keeping them all there to cure from now on. Thanks.
  8. How much fragrance oil do you add to your cp soap? I always add 1 oz. per lb., but my dad complains that my scents are too light (which I like, but he doesn't). Also, does the heat tend to drain some of the scent from the soap, I have mine in the garage in a cabinet and on drying racks, but the scents are a bit lighter than when I keep them inside. Is this just me or with everyone? TIA.
  9. I'm not sure of a recipe, but I have seen body frosting base at essentialsbycatalina.
  10. I love this scent in lotions and scrubs, I was also hesitant to soap it in cp. Thanks for the heads up.
  11. Thanks, thats what I was leaning to also.
  12. For those that make sugar scrubs which of these two oils do you prefer in them and why? Jojoba or castor?
  13. I just unmolded the soap and included pictures of what it looks like now. It's not grey anymore, its a pretty color and I am now in love with this smell, but its got some spots throughout. I have a question though, what exactly are the spots caused from, I mean I know some fragrances do this to soap, but is it not safe or usuable after? because I want to keep some of these for me.
  14. I've never hp'ed soap before, I only do cp. So I'm not sure what to do.
  15. Carebear - The fragrance is the new Himalyan Bamboo from candlescience, the scent is really good. Thanks Meridith - I will wait until I unmold it to see how it turns out, I hope it comes out.
  16. I was soaping a new bamboo fo and when I added the fo it started turning into a rice type substance, so I stuck in the stick blender for not even a second to try and get rid of the rice texture and boom chunky monkey pudding. It is a gorgeous greyish color, smells so good, but it thickend so fast that I don't know what happened. I still put it in the mold, but will it be okay or what happened, I haven't had this experience before so I'm not sure what to call it. Any ideas? Thanks, Crystal
  17. Just wanted to let you know that the mistake lotion I made that became a whipped mousse is still the same texture. I put it in the sun for a few hours and it got a little soft, but when I brought it back inside over night it was the same texture again, nice light and whipepd.
  18. It wasn't just the color that was bad, the sweet smell completly disappeared and changed into something not so sweet. I don't mind the color change, I love when vanilla bars turn brown, I just didn't understand why I had the two toned look after so long. Usually if my vanilla darkens it does it within the first 48 hrs and this one just went through a different process than I'm used to. I will have to check out the scent review board. Oh and I did a mango two days ago which was from bcn, the smell comes through so well.
  19. My fiance found me a cute maroon and clear display case at a yard sell last weekend for $5.00. The picture isn't that great, but you can still see what it looks like.
  20. The thing is the top is still brown and the bottom is not? I just undid the mold a few minutes ago and this is what it looks like? Looks like it didn't finish gelling (its been 48 hrs).
  21. Usually when I melt the palm oil, I just shake it up for a few minutes. I think I might try getting the pko flakes, I had completly forgot that they sold them. Thank you.
  22. I know there is a thread about scents that rock in cp soap, but what about the scents that don't. :undecided I searched for some scents that I was about to try, but didn't find anything so I tried them anyways and some just don't turn out very pretty. I love my sugar cookie fo in everything, lotions, scrubs, etc. But, I really wanted to try it in soap, bad idea. First of all, it was very slow to trace, then it got a few air bubbles on top, and now it is a dark brown color and doesn't smell the same. I've also come to realize that if I have a scent that I don't like very much, I just soap it and I tend to like it more. What scents do you dislike in cp soap?
  23. I was just looking for the palm and palm kernel oils, they just take so long to melt in the sun. I think I am going to buy some of those big open containers and just melt them once and then transfer them into there.
  24. Or you could get those white foam inserts and cut them into the sizes you need. Bath bombs seem like they would be so hard to ship in large quantities, they are so fragile.
