  1. Ok my review on NG's opaque Natural bases, soya milk, oatmeal & cocoabutter. I think the cocoa butter lathers the best but really they are all so close it's hard to tell. Not noticing sweating, not slimy although the oatmeal one is a bit more moist that the others. I cut off a piece of each one and washed my hands and arms up to my elbows. They are all wonderful , nice creamy bubbles makes my hands feel smooth not burning at all. I just made a 2lb batch of Natural oatmeal base with added about 1TB of ea. oatmeal, calendula & honey. scented with 1TB almond...waiting for it to set up now.
  2. Essentials oils are scents like Lemongrass, Lavender, etc. a carrier oil is like a vegetable or nut oil, like olive, canola, sweet almond. for example you could make a message oil using Sweet almond as the base oil and scent it with a few drops of essential oils( at the recommended usage rate). Here is a site that lists uses for eo's http://www.essentialoils.co.za/therapeutic-properties.htm then you can check out a little reading on carrier oils http://www.aromaweb.com/articles/whatcarr.asp hth
  3. ok please excuse my ignorance but the pic you have posted, to me looks like those are like half a bar of soap size for each slice I see 6 slices. But I noticed that the package is only 5 oz so i must be seeing it wrong.
  4. I am looking at NG's natural bases that you can make different products depending on how much distilled water is added to the base. The base at NG is like 6.00 for 16 ounces that makes anywhere from 32-144 ounces of product. for a lotion it makes 64 ounces- with 16 oz base & 48 oz distilled water. for 6 dollars that is a super price....of course you have to add shipping but that is cheaper cause you add the water.
  5. Soychic, I buy my fo there tooo! I will give my reviews on those bases here when I get them
  6. Thaks any way carebear i still havent decided yet...But I am leaning towards yogurt or soy
  7. Natures garden has just got in all new natural bases sls free. I just ordered , natural oatmeal, natural cocoabutter and natural soya milk. to give them a try...should be here in a day or so.
  8. I am pretty sure you dont need a preservative in a bar of soap. I have never used a preservative in my cphp. That being said, I am not sure about using bar soap on your hair though. I have tried a recipe once and hated what it did to my hair...but that's just me. found a bunch of shampoo recipes you could look at http://hmbeautyrecipes.homestead.com/HAIRshampoorecipes.html
  9. Oh my...I am trying to choose a lotion base...Natural goats milk, yogurt or soy lotion base...they all have same ingredients just each has addition of milk, yogurt or soy. I have never used anything like these bases before so if yall could give you opinions that would be great!!!!!!
  10. UPDATE I was just a NG website and it seems that they have a whole slew of different Natural soap bases.....I did notice they have done their bulk pricing for the natural bases as well ......ok hear I go gonna have to get shoppin There are a couple without germall plus preservative soychic
  11. I read somewhere that you can spray with a sealer...I havent tried this yet but I will test it out. I currently have weatherproof labels from online labels that smear when used on the body scrub jars so maybe a sealer would work...i am thinking of labeling the tops of the jars so you can still see whats inside. I have taped the labels before but forgot this batch and my customer let me know it was smearing.
  12. thanks micayla, Yes waterproof is important in these products but that limits to just white labels...I was thinking clear but i will have to rethink my label. Also I currently have waterproof label on body scrub but it smears when used in the shower ...I am thinking it is the oils in the scrub.
  13. Ok I am changing my packaging to clear low profile jars and I am wondering how you all label these type jars. Products will be body scrub, body butter, eye cream, face mask. Thinking about doing some shampoo, cond, and lotion in clear bottles as well. My products will be natural, paraben free and detergent free.( as natural as possible )if that helps. Do you use waterproof labels? Inkjet or Laser printer? Do you label sides or just put label on tops?? Thanks
  14. the preservative is paraben free I believe if that makes a difference but no i don't use one in mine but i think its cause of the milk / yogurt
  15. I suppose noone know? oh well the search goes on

  22. Kitchenfairy I am excited for you! Please let us know what you think of Nature"s garden natural goats milk and natural yogurt base. I hope you love it too. I have a few bars out for testing to a couple customers. I am hoping that NG will offer bulk pricing on these bases. I plan on purchasing alot soon.
  23. My review on Nature's garden goats milk and yogurt base. love them both... both are nice lathering and skin feels good after use. I just showered with the goatsmilk soap, with added 2 tb kaolin clay and one trader joes green tea bag, no scent yet. I wanted to see how it was without scent first. Soap is firm and not sweating. I actually smell a clean scent to my skin and it feels soft. Now I hope it will last a couple weeks in the shower. I think this is the one I will be using for my m&p fun I have tested SFIC low sweat over and over again and it is nice and bubbly as I said before but I do notice that a while later after washing my hands they begin to feel dry then begin to burn even with added ingredients. SFIC white base is a bit sweaty and drying as well. i could add some extra oils but just plain it doesn't lather or bubble like I would like it to. for the cost of m&p verses cp I am reluctant to add ingredients and bringing the cost up more and then I have to use more to make up for the loss of soap in the bowl from transferring it to the mold Now I would like to just melt it in the mold and mix it that way but it won't fit un melted.
  24. thanks grama...I will be setting that up when I get the products ready...probably next week wohoo
