  1. Those are soo cute...I was just trying to formulate a sugar cube face scrub recently and then I saw this...nice!! Just wondering what size is each cube and do u use entire cube per shower or bath? I've never seen the one bite brownie pan but looks like I'll have to find one Thanks
  2. I have shopped wsp for alot of years for mostly ingredients like stearic, ewax, etc...I noticed the price on fo compared to ng the other day and I was in shock...i am planning to start making a soap with eo's and I am not sure where to go for those...I am doing a line of soap made with organic ingredients and so the eo's at wsp are certified pure...If ya'll have any ideas as to where to purchase quality eo's at a fair price please share Thanks
  3. Katshe is the first three letters of my first and last name:) kd stands for kathy and danielle (me/daughter) Scented you make me smile with all that thinking your doing :0 candybee thanks for that last suggestion...I do like it but I am thinking of keeping the original name and then name the products Like avon does and others avon has many lines like planet spa, naturals, back to basic..etc. I am just beginning the process of going into business after five years of making and testing products , I have sold steadily to fam and friends during this time and I am excited to go to the next level but scared at the same time... Naming the business has hit a nerve with some customers and not with others. It's hard to please everyone! My biggest gripper doesn't buy my products but is married to my son and he is gripping too...Funny I offered him a bar of soap if he wants to have a say. Joking of course. one customer hates the greenbriar name
  4. it looks like I am keeping the name I'v had kd Essentials and naming the soap and other products sort of like how colgate makes irish spring or Avon has different product lines. I suppose now i need a name for the new organic ingredients soap, face scrub and body scrub.
  5. Half the family loves Greenbriar the other half and one customer hates it.!
  6. will do some research I did punch in greenbriar and nothing soap related came up what did come up was a five diamond rated luxury Resort apartments, golf, state park Thank all of you for the super suggestions and you opinions have been greatly appreciated. wickerstix , tell your son nice name Naturecrafts... sounds very nice, but im sorry it is not exactly what i am looking for. I'm going to a family party today and I will see what the opinion is there on Greenbriar Soap * Candles & Gifts I may label soap like this Greenbriar Simply Soap or just -Soap with certified organic ingredients or may just list those cert organic ingredients seperately. I will post later tonight if I get back earlier enough with my FINAL ANSWER...) THANKS TO YOU, SCENTED, CANDYBEE, WICKERSTIX & anyone else I missed. I couldn't have done it without you help!!
  7. wow lots of thoughts to think about here and all valid comments thanks I have to say im not in love with the word crafts Greenbriar sounds to me like an upscale product, that's why im leaning towards it and Greenbrair Estates is the name of the property I live on. i think it's actually called Greenbriar Estates #5. The only other name not using Natural or organic I can think up is Greenbriar Essentials Or Greenbriar Organic recipe essentials Soaps*candles*gifts
  8. im sorry you feel that way funky monkey this person is a long time friend of mine and since she tests things she now only uses and buys my soap and candles exclusivly no discount or special deals. Just testing when I create something new. I suppose if she was a stranger I would think differently.
  9. Well it seems that my facebook family is voting for Greenbriar Naturals
  10. I too like the name Simply organic, soap, candles and gifts or i might add more instead of gifts thanks candybee.
  11. ok here is my story on the organic thing...i want my customers to know that they are getting soap and such made with certified organic ingredients...I was at a health food store and saw a large stand of soap none of which had organic ingredients but was a base and it may very well be natural but I expected it would be organically made being as it is in a health food store ...I realize soap cannot be 100% organic but I am trying to be green or as green as i can in my soap/candle business. Some how I want customers to know that...maybe it can be in the labeling if not in the name Thanks scented for pointing that out ...u r right. Wickerstix cute name you have...thanks for trying to include art in the name. It seem like i keep adding artsy things to sell here an there...i also make nine tile photo transfer wall hangings. still mulling this over. Natural essence...love how that sounds...i am sure that is taken Nature's Path, soap, candles and gifts Natural techinque, soap, candles & gifts ...not sure that sounds good Natural Effect, Soap, candles & more Simply Natural, Soap, candles & gifts Any of these grab you???
  12. Thanks to all for the suggestions ...Green briar estates in a city in Michigan My product will be made with certified organic ingerdients and I do like the way Greenbriar Naturals sounds Thanks soo much for all you help and suggestions. Ill let you know what we decide tomorrow
  13. thanks again jenny Say that outloud I am having trouble saying it outloud
  14. I agree with sifichik A teaching lesson is in order to keep her buying from you...maybe have one melting when she comes by so she can see that they do indeed give off scent. I always tell my customers how to use my products and give demo on certain things like scrubs so they dont come back with issues that it isn't working. I also don't give refunds or exchanges on my products unless it was my fault something was wrong. I have had one friend who always calls and complains about something like the soap is too scrubby or i cant smell the candle. She is now my tester of products and is pleased that she has a say and doesn't complain about anything anymore. Just a suggestion. hth
  15. ok have a few words that i've been mulling over and came up with the property i live on is called Greenbriar estates so maybe something like Greenbriar organics Greenbriar Organic Essentials Organic Effect or Greenbriar organic effect Organic Body Thank you Jenny I like but i think its taken Simply organic kinda liking Organic Effect body essentials Please let me know what grabs you!!!!
  16. I''m just starting to file for a business license and I have changed my product line to organic ingredients I thought Organic Essentials was great but it is taken here in Michigan so I need some help My produucts are, Soap, face and body scrub, soy candles and I also sell painting i do on wood and canvas and art coaster and stamped coasters. Suggestions Please
  17. I haven't been here in a long time to check this post. you are all welcome for the recipe and I am glad you are enjoying it. I made a new batch this week with added strawberry seeds...Nice exfoiliation and next I will be making one with walnut shell powder.
  18. hear is what I do to save on oils, i do the oven hot process where i mix soap till heavy trace and put the pot in the oven for 2 hrs then let sit in oven overnight then reheat in the am....takes about an hour or so to soften again then add oils at that time and scoop in to mold and slam out air bubbles...let is set up and then slice hth
  19. is crisco hard or soft it seems soft on soap calc i know its not liquid though i am affraid if i do 50/50 it will be tooo soft and melt too fast in the shower
  20. Does this recipe look good as far as the hardness and conditioning numbers?? Not sure that 47 is hard enough so.. could I add some stearic ??and how much? my old recipe hardness was 49 but I am reconfiguring recipe with cheaper oils I did make a lard soap that is nice but was a little drying so this is the new attempt.. coconut 25% Crisco 15% lard 55% castor 5% Hardness 47 Cleansing 17 Conditionin 47 Bubbly 22 Creamy 34 Iodine 52 INS 163
  21. I add fragrance after the cook as to use less fo. Hardness on this recipe is 48- so, should be a good. All other fragrances are rock hard I add 2 oz fo to my 3 lb recipe of this scent so it smells good... i did a batch and used less and that soap lost its scent and smelled horrible after a month or so. Not sure what that was about , i think it was dos Maybe I need to scent this before the cook and use more like 1 oz per lb of soap All other scents I use 1.5 oz fo to 3 lbs soap and they do great but again, I add after cook for 2.5 hrs Not the easiest method for soap making but I prefer it so that I am using less fo thanks for the info guys I may use a harder recipe for this particular scent Off i go to soapcalc wish me luck
  22. do you mean salt...Im pretty sure i put salt in that batch for that reason but turned out softer that other batches with different scents...i do almond , coconut cream, winter garden, peppermint...those all are nice and hard and last a few weeks in the shower I was thinking of adding stearic when i make the Australian bamboo grass batch and see if that helps....this is a customer fave scent but getting complaints about it melting quickly in the shower.
  23. When I use thes scent Austrian bamboo grass from Natlure's garden the soap is softer and doesn't last too long in the shower as my other bars do ...same recipe Anyone know why and is this normal with some scents??? Is there something I can do to harden it up when making next batch??? I do hp so usually batches are hard 2 - 3 wks I have been using this recipe for 2 years now and never had this problem with other scents
  24. yes you can use mango instead of cocoabutter just will be a bit softer
  25. sorry to keep you waaiting..computer probs here I will post a pic about noon today . if I can figure out this laptop
