  1. That's a gorgeous set-up! You've been a busy beaver.
  2. Those are gorgeous bars! I love lemon anything, so that's right up my alley.
  3. If it were me, I'd go ahead and do a new hp batch to have some to sell, but hang onto the "bad" soap for awhile longer. The worst that could happen is that you'll have to toss it later. But the bad smell may eventually go away, then you could cube or shred up small amounts of it and incorporate into new batches.
  4. The flower pots fit the Dixie cup votives perfectly. Hobby Lobby and Michael's frequently have them on sale 2/$1. I made some "first time visitor" favors for my daughter's church and just put the flower pot and votive in a small cellophane bag and tied with raffia and hang tag. Looked really cute done like that. To package the votives alone, you could shrink wrap individually, or maybe do pairs in small cello bags. Hobby Lobby sells the flower pot shaped votive refills for the pots, and they leave them unwrapped. I hate that; they have almost no scent and get all banged up. They're layered in pretty colors, though, so I guess people buy them anyway.:rolleyes2 Katsche, you posted while I was working on my response; looks like you already thought of the idea I had. I know what you mean about the bag getting all smeared looking; I hate that. You may have to shrink wrap individually to avoid that, if you don't want to package in the holder.
  5. Those are really sharp containers. Is it something that DG has on a regular basis, or did they only have those two? If they always have them, it would probably be cheaper to just get them there. Shipping on glass is killer. I have to pass DG on the way to and from work; I'm stopping by there on my way home today and see if they have any.
  6. I use the same lids for jelly jars (regular 8 oz) and 9 oz square masons. They are the ones from Tennessee Candle Supplies that come in crystal, copper/rust, and gold finishes. The jar neck sizes are the same.
  7. Actually, the shape with the icing on is pretty convincing, imo. But what kills it for me is the snakeskin coloring; there's no way I would buy that. That gives me the creeps.
  8. That looks way too good:cheesy2: I like the cocoa sprinkles, too.
  9. Doesn't smell like it to me. The "baked" part of the scents may be similar, but the spicy-ness sets them apart. GL Honey Graham has so much cinnamon in it, that it resembles Amish Harvest, imo. The Fresh Baked Cookies is very close to RE/AH Vanilla Wafers to my nose. All sniffers are different:cheesy2:
  10. Good Lord; everything on the entire website is out of stock, not just the candles. Beautiful products, though, and I love the CB fragrances.
  11. I do hot process and made a batch using this oil back in early May. I have a few bars of it left and got one out to use the other night. You can still smell it, but it is a lot fainter than it was. That sucks, cause it's a gorgeous scent. I store my dried soaps in paper lunch bags with the tops folded down, so they have some protection, but can still breathe. But maybe that's not the right thing to do, I don't know.
  12. The Scottcrew mold looks interesting. Hard to believe that it only makes 1/4 oz tarts, though. At 1.5" x .75", it's not that much smaller than the regular tart molds that come from BB&B, and they're right at an ounce.
  13. I love the Pumpkin Cornbread; that's the first one I bought from BW last year and still my favorite so far. I wanted to try the Gingerbread and a couple of others. I was hoping for a Labor Day sale, but maybe there will be one coming up some time pretty soon.
  14. Thanks, Sharon. I've been thinking of getting a slab of that wax to try out. Need some more snowy pine anyway.
  15. Did I dream it, or was there a discussion a few months ago that the FH 50/50 was the same wax as sold by another supplier? There was some kind of quality issue with the other supplier, such as consistency problems, and some people switched over to the FH wax at that time.
  16. I love Heartfelt's Fresh Baked Cookies. Smells alot like RE's Vanilla Wafers to me, which everyone here at work raves about. It is also very versatile and can be "dressed up" with cinnamon, lemon, cherry, or other flavors for a totally different scent.
  17. That's what I do. I store my wax in the garage and even though I try to be careful about closing up the boxes and stuff, occasionally dirt particles do get in there. It all sinks to the bottom of the Presto, though, so as long as I dip wax off the top, I don't get any in my candles. I guess if your pot had a spout it might be different, though. I'm not sure how close to the bottom the spout is located.
  18. Go to Walmart and get a package of the Reynolds mini muffin liners. A package of 48 is right at $1. Some grocery stores may sell them, too, but mine doesn't. That way, it won't matter as much if your soy wax is container blend and too soft to turn out of a mold. You just peel off the paper and foil before melting. Of course, a firmer wax is preferable (and neater to use), but you could make a container wax work.
  19. I can't imagine that the FNWL recipe would work too well, of course I haven't tried it. But that seems like an awfully lot of extra oils to add (4 tbsp + 2 tbsp water) to one cup of soap. I'd be surprised if it lathered. May try it just for fun, though; lord knows I've plenty of scrap soap laying around here:rolleyes2 Seems like for this, though, you'd need a soap with very little superfat and my soap is already superfatted at 5-6%.
  20. Nope, scratch the fudge idea. Humidity affects that, too.:rolleyes2
  21. Yeah, I can see where giving away something that costs probably $.75 or less with a $500 order would break them up.:rolleyes2 I like samples, too. I've ordered quite a few oils after sniffing that I would never have gotten based on name/description alone.
  22. Those do look good. I'm curious about the burn; are they made of a hard wax so that they will leave a shell? Or did you just have them on that flat plate for demonstration, and they would usually be burned in a container with sides?
  23. Wesson used to produce both sunflower and safflower and they were sold in the 48 oz bottles like canola at the same prices; sometimes on sale for $1.89 for 48 oz. Now, they are considered specialty oils, and only one brand is available at the store I use for about $3.69 for a 24 oz bottle.:rolleyes2
