  1. Yes, it was great to see you again! I finally made it! My family and I am sold on the Gathering, it was awesome! Everything was so well organized and I know it must have been a great deal of work! Thanks to everyone who helped make it possible. As far as those oils go, I think I am officially the Kokum Queen! A big thanks to SYR for splitting up those co-op oils like that, too. I've participated in co-ops in the past and am excited to get my goodies. I never realized, however, how much work it is to separate everything out and repackage! Wow! I have new appreciation for those who host Columbus Foods co-ops! My family had a wonderful time! We're already planning next year! LOL
  2. I had an AWESOME time! It was great to put faces with names finally! BEST conference I have been to yet!
  3. I can't wait to meet everyone there!! I won't be hard to find--just look for the pastiest one in the room and you've found me!
  4. .....or you could just get a mold of a frosted top. I've got some and love 'em to bits!! I use the Wilton silicone cupcake liners for the bottoms, and the silicone cupcake frosting mold for the top portion, then stick the two finished pieces together with a bit of melted soap. Easy peasy!
  5. I do beaded jewelry but I am somewhat new to it. I make my own polymer clay beads/charms and make charm bracelets, earrings, necklaces & rings. Mostly for me, though.
  6. That line is probably what had people thinking you were brand new and didn't know what you were doing. Definitely make sure you get your vendor's license, DBA (doing business as....if you have a business name you need to register it), insurance and get squared away to file and pay sales tax. That is the part I absolutely DETEST! I forgot to file once and got slapped with a penalty....my own fault, of course, but you need to make sure you have everything in order. I heard that they are checking vendor's licenses at craftshows now, but I don't know if there's any truth to that rumour. Best of luck to you! As much of the crummy business part that I hate--I love the part where I get to make pretty smelling candles!
  7. As much as I love creating hang tags over labels, hang tags are a PITA to keep on products at shows when customers want to pick up, open, sniff candles. That's just my personal opinion. I'm really digging those black lids! I went with rustic and almost wish I hadn't. p.s. I like the sepia hang tag over the color one too.
  8. I may bring some molds. I thought I bought cupcake ones but they are muffin ones. I'll have to look through my other stuff and see what I have....I am looking to clear out the workshop a bit! I am saving for a new sewing machine. I'm still rather new to the whole sewing thing, and the machine that I have doesn't have a drop-in bobbin. I fight and fight with it to try and get the bobbin in and out. Soooo, I'm saving my dollars and buying a drop-in bobbin machine! Heck, I could bring in my sewing machine if anyone really wanted it! I could always borrow my daughter's until I get the new one. LOL
  9. I hear ya! I'd been taking it easy on the candlemaking because of classes, but holy crap I can't believe how high the price of wax has gone!!! Everything is getting so expensive. I keep hoping things will get better but it's not looking so good. Everyone's tight with their money anymore because the economy is so shaky--plus with a dollar store on every corner, people are in the "cheaper is better" mentality. (At least around here they are) It's a shame, really.
  10. Thanks, Scented! I felt stupid for asking....but all I found while searching one was round ones! LOL
  11. Hmmmm, it is laying up against that brick wall there, but it'd venture to say it is about three bricks tall. If you're on Etsy/Artfire perhaps you can barter and have one made for you!
  12. Could I use a regular round one or are there ones made specifically for hexagon molds? I'm wanting to play with some palm pillar wax this summer and would rather use a wick pin than fool with wicking.
  13. Red Clover Tea from Symphony Scents Maple Pecan Streusel from WSP Pink Sugar from NG Raspberry Zinger from NG Cannabis Rose from NG Curve for Men from NG (hubby uses the soap I make with this--he smells yummah!) Passionfruit & Guava from Backwoods Birthday Cake from AH/RE .....there are so many others....but I am going blank! Aughhhh!!!
  14. That is sooo pretty! My daughter would go crazy over that--she loves all things rainbow!
  15. Whipping now! I love how fluffy it gets!!! I bit the bullet and made the original version.....so glad that I did! The VCO is an unusual but yummy smell, I'm thinking it's going to work well with the FO that I chose for this project--NG's Mangosteen. Thanks again for posting this recipe! This is my first time playing with B&B (getting to try something new) in quite some time. Classes have been overwhelming, but today was really fun!
  16. If you work in polymer clay or know someone who does, you could probably make a mold of it. Someone would have to go off of your picture and try to sculpt it in polyclay & bake it. Then, take that piece and make a mold with Sculpey Moldmaker. I just made a small soap mold with Moldmaker and it works like a charm! It can be done. :smiley2: ETA: What are the dimensions of the finished piece?
  17. How does this hold up in summer months? I've been wanting to try it for a while and now am torn between the summer version and the winter version. I finally got my ingredients after all this time! LOL The only thing I don't have is Cosmocil but I am subbing the Liquid Germall Plus for that. Thanks in advance!!
  18. Wow!! That is some seriously awesome soap!! *soap porn approval*
  19. Soap is so-so, candles are nada. I'm not sweating it though, because it's slow season and I'm still taking classes. I'm thinking it was meant to be! Soap/candles can wait, I need that expensive piece of paper saying that I'm educated!
  20. That's what I'm thinking it is too. NG's soap dye has done that to me before....that's why I stopped using it. It seemed like no matter how much I mixed I was having issues with it.
  21. This is the recipe I use (well, a tweaked version anyway) and it is AWESOME!!! It is a very good starter recipe, as LuminousBoutique said. Try it! You will love it!
  22. My daughter Ashley and I will be there! I plan on being there early because I have to work later in the day....but I can't wait to meet everyone!
  23. If you don't mind spending the cash, the ones from WSP are really very nice! They're a bit spendy, but totally worth it IMO. It's something you and the grandkids can do for gifts for teachers, Christmas gifts, etc. As long as you were going to get a decent amount of mileage out of the WSP ones....I suggest those. Otherwise, dollar store ones or walmart ones are good enough.
