  1. Thank you both. I was pleased. Of course, the next one I did had some frosting, but I don't think she'll mind. It's scented cinnamon apple berry. I really like it! Stephanie
  2. candlebuddy, what size of muffins do the molds make, ounce wise? I bought a silicone mold out there before halloween that is hearts and I saw the muffin one and mini bundt one the other day and wondered if they were too big to use as tarts or if I could pop a wick in the muffin ones. Stephanie
  3. I made 12 8oz square mason jars Wednesday night. I used a CD14 in 6 and a CD16 in 6 and did 6 scents. I'm using CBA and wondered how long I should let them cure before I do a test burn. I was planning on 5-6 days. Should I leave them longer? Stephanie
  4. lol Thanks! lol I don't ever want to be the votive queen. These are not fun! lol Of course, other than the nippling, it would help if my darn house was level! lol Oh, well, live and learn. I'm gonna play around with them some more, but don't be surprised when you see my votive molds in the classified ads! Stephanie
  5. Okay, I poured at 120 and so far, there is very, very minimal nippling around the wick pin if any at all. There are just 2 that have it so far! lol Now if they just pop out easy and look nice, I'm on a roll! lol Stephanie
  6. Candlebuddy, I thought about that but my boyfriend said it would probably melt the mold as the mold is plastic! I wasn't sure. This is a plastic 6-pack votive mold from pourette. I'm not sure how high of a temp it will stand. I'm gonna play around today and try a couple of things out. I know a while back, when I first started with clamshells, I had major frosting problems with the PureSoy and some dipping (for lack of a better term), and someone recommended to pour slushy. That helped out a bunch, though with certain colors I still got frost but I got smooth tops. Anyway, I eventually went to doing them without colors. I'm gonna try a couple of things today. Thanks! Stephanie
  7. I did that and there was a line and the votive broke off where the 2nd pour was made! Talk about shocked! I have votives in pieces! lol I poured hotter and there was no line but I still have that stinking dip and then the nippling around the wick pin. I'm gonna play around with them tomorrow and see. I've got a lot of wax and 4 molds! lol Thanks, though! Stephanie
  8. Okay, I've been making votives for 2 days now and they are a total pain in the butt! The colors have come out wonderful! I'm using KY all natural pillar/votive wax and it's nice to work with. The wick burns nicely in it! The problem is, I'm using a mold that has ring tops. When my votives finally cool, I still get the nippling around the wick pin and then a dip. I don't know how to describe it, but I'm not happy with it. I've done 2 pours and they're are just not cooperating with me. Is there some trick to this? Stephanie
  9. Thanks so much! The green did come out pretty good! lol I also posted another pic I did of a jar and tin. The color was supposed to be dark red but it has a purplish tint to it. These are still color crystals. The other pic of the jar and tin are wickless. Stephanie
  10. Thank you! I used the color crystals from makes scents. They work well but are kind of a pain in the butt to mix. Stephanie
  11. Those are very pretty! Green is my absolute favorite color! Stephanie
  12. They just know they're gonna be screwed! lol Especially when you melt the Amish Harvest! That has become one of my favorites! lol Good luck! Stephanie
  13. I use the clamshells from KY Candle Supply. There are a lot of suppliers that sell them, so I would just check around. Stephanie
  14. Hopefully these will be a bit better. I made these for a friend. She had a couple of jars and a tin and didn't want to pitch them and wanted wickless candles. These 2 are cinnamon but the color went more to a burgundy. Figures! lol
  15. Cool! I had to search. I would have had no idea where to start! lol I hope they turn out well for ya! Stephanie
  16. Cool! That's what I got! My problem is, I'm impatient and I want to burn it NOW! lol Unfortunately, I can't play around with those tonight as I already have all my jars filled and have to wait for them to cure, so I'm gonna do some votives since I have no work on my job! lol I told my boyfriend we're gonna have to build a house with a full basement and I get the whole basement as I am running out of room in my house for my candle supplies! lol It would help if I didn't have a full room of craft stuff, but hey, I can't help it. Thanks for answering back. I'll have to post next week on how they burn! Stephanie
  17. candlebuddy, what wax do you use? I'm testing CBA. I tested it in some 5oz apothecary jars with an HTP52 but did not work well, plus I don't think I want to use those jars anyway. I did let one cure for 5 days and got a scent throw on the first burn and then nada! Figures! lol Stephanie Also, I was surprised when I found the thread on what sizes of wicks to use in the square masons that someone posted using a CD18. Anyway, I'm gonna test them next week and see what happens.
  18. lol It's so addicting. I made 12 of the mason jars last night and 18 votives. My last batch of votives were awful, not that the first 12 were great! lol It's fun, though! Stephanie
  19. lol I use CBA. I wasn't sure what the difference in wick would be comparing your wax and mine. I bet it smells really good! I hope it doesn't take ya too long to wick it! Stephanie
  20. That's cool! I hope it burns well for you and you find a good wick for it. My dad wanted a pine scent, but a certain one and I never did find it. At least you can pop that wick out to test another. I just poured a jar for each wick, but if they don't work, I'll melt my wax and pour it in a clamshell and use it myself! lol Let us know how it goes. Stephanie
  21. Sharon, I thought it would be too, but that's what I come up with researching. Anyway, I'm starting with CD14 and CD16 and if they're too big, I'll go down. I just didn't really know where to start! If it wasn't for this board, I would probably be testing every wick out there! lol Stephanie
  22. You could always try it. If not and you want to test a CD14 or CD16, let me know I could mail you a few to try. Good luck! Stephanie
  23. Thanks! Those were really fun to make and my green turned out awesome! lol Anyway, hopefully we will get a good digital camera next month because my daughter's cell is a pain in the butt to use and she got upset off because I used it! lol Oh, well. Anyway, thanks! Stephanie
  24. I made 12 8oz square mason jars last night. I did 6 different scents. Each scent was wicked with a CD14 and CD16 as that was what I found researching on here. I'm using CBA. I searched by mason jars, mason wick, and something else, don't remember. It took a little while, but that's what I came up with. I don't know if your jars are square or what size, so the wick you have may work. Hope that helps, sorry if it doesn't! Stephanie
  25. Sorry. I'm not good with adding photos or anything and it took a while to do the photobucket thing, but hey the pics look better! lol Stephanie
