  1. Thanks! I completely forgot about that site! lol Stephanie
  2. Thanks! At least I've got plenty of wax to play around with! lol I do like it, though. It comes out very pretty and the tops are so smooth! I'm gonna just keep testing! lol Stephanie
  3. I'm not sure exactly where to post this one, but I was wondering if anybody new of a supplier in Southern Illinois, Southeast Missouri, Western Kentucky, or Southwest Indiana that sells the 8oz square mason jars. I have searched online and haven't come up with any yet. Thanks! Stephanie
  4. Thanks! It's doing great then! Hopefully after a couple of more days for the others to cure, I can get a decent scent throw! Stephanie Oh by the way, I did find a problem. I did my test burn earlier and noticed that around the wick there was a triangle shape, kind of like a hole. I don't know how to describe it. I'm guessing maybe I need relief holes? I don't know.
  5. Okay, my jars are 2.25" diameter and I'm using an HTP52. I did a test burn because I wanted to see how the wick would do, as I'm new to wicking! Anyway, it curled a bit but I trimmed, but what is the time frame to depth/diamter of meltpool? I have it burning now and I can smell it faintly, doesn't really smell like my Peaks Cinnamon Bun, more smells like French Vanilla! I'm just thrilled it has some sort of smell! Anyway, I will do another test burn in a couple of days to test scent throw but was confused on meltpool/burn time. Stephanie
  6. I get mine from KY Candle Supply and have not had any problems yet, with the exception of the coffee FO but it could have been the FO. I do have clamshells that have sat for 3 months and they still smell like they did the day I poured them. Stephanie
  7. It really does have better appearance! I made four 5-oz apothecary jars and scented with cinnamon bun. Of course, they're curing for now, but they are absolutely beautiful! Not one spec of frost at all and the tops are completely smooth! I really never had trouble with the PureSoy in my clamshells, the tops always came out smooth and as long as I didn't use color, I had no frost, but the jars were another story! Anyway, thanks! Stephanie
  8. I did the opposite! I started out with the glue dots and then switched to my glue gun! I hate those glue dots. First they don't want to come off the paper they're on, then you gotta be extremely careful when centering the wick or the glue dots (at least mine) would stick to the jar when trying to move the wick, and then, my wick would end up floating in wax after I poured and the glue dot was on the bottom of the jar! lol Anyway, I didn't try to return them. I don't even know what I did with them, but you could always try and sell them in the classifieds! Stephanie
  9. Well, I'm getting ready to try it now! lol Can't just have a box of wax sitting around collecting dust. I've got 5 oz apothecary jars and am gonna make those and test after a few days. I'll post on how they do! Stephanie
  10. I ordered wax a while back and UPS rescheduled shipping from last Wed. to today. Well, I got it today and realized I ordered the wrong frickin' wax! I have been using EcoSoya PureSoy for my clamshells and it has been awesome. They're not too soft, nor are they greasy. Well, now, I got CB Advanced! Can anyone tell me how this differs from PureSoy based on use? I'm gonna keep it. I figured the least I can do is play around with it since I have jars and wicks sitting here. Anyway, thanks! Stephanie
  11. well, you could always grubby up the jar! Then, you wouldn't see color or frosting! I have had this problem with mine, too, that's why I don't use color for the time being. I wanted to try the frostop, but as stated earlier, it's out of stock until next year! Figures. Stephanie
  12. Melissa is definitely the best to work with! I have only made one order there and we were having issues and with her help, it got resolved immediately! Stephanie
  13. I don't know what type of soy you use, but I use EcoSoya PureSoy. I heat to 160-165 and then let it cool until it's slushy before I add FO and then pour. I do not add color or any other additives, so I don't know if that could be the problem or not. I do have some FOs that just will not throw in soy, regardless, though. Stephanie
  14. Hey, congrats on a good party! That's awesome! Stephanie
  15. Well, I gotta work my "real job" this weekend! Christmas is coming, I need the cash. As far as my melts, well I kinda sorta ran out of wax! Actually I have a whopping pound left! No worries, I ordered more. I'll have to do my melts next weekend! Plus I ordered wicks to start testing in my jars! Stephanie
  16. Wow! That's really nice! I love your displays! Stephanie
  17. I meant to ask a question regarding these vertical candles before. If you're using a container, I wonder if it would be possible to go to a local hardware store and get some kind of rubber stopper and cut a hole in it to pour the wax in. It might be a pain, but if you had a big syringe, do you thing that might possibly work? I was discussing it with my boyfriend a while back. If you could find something that would fit the opening of the jar and tolerate the heat of the wax, it might just work. I dunno. Just throwing out an idea. Maybe I should attempt it! lol Stephanie
  18. Sandi, what an awesome link! I have googled I don't know how many times for suppliers in Illinois and never came across one link with so much info! Stephanie
  19. Thanks! I was thinking of ordering 2 or 3 different sizes and trying them out, but wasn't sure. Stephanie
  20. That looks good enough to drink! Very nice! Stephanie
  21. The wicks are going to be the end of me! lol Okay, I have some 4 oz apothecary jars that are 2 1/4" in diameter and I use Pure Soy. I went to candlescience's web page and their wick guide suggested an LX16. In searhinc the LX16 I found it is for 3-4" diameter jars. Are they suggesting a larger wick due to the wax? I didn't know if my wax would need a bigger or not. I just wanted to play around with these jars and see how they would do. Thanks! Stephanie
  22. I found a local distributor (4 hours away, local enough I guess) by going to corporate's website. They had a link on there of distributors which was really helpful. Stephanie
  23. I use PureSoy and love it! I have had no complaints about the melts being too soft and not popping out of the clamshells and the hot throw is awesome. I have found a couple of FOs that do not do well in it, but for the most part all of my FOs from BCS do extremely well in it and some from Peaks. Stephanie
