  1. Tonight my whole body was so achy I decided to test/break out one of my new formula bubbling bath bombs scented Lavender Martini. Filled the tub, popped in the bomb and inserted self...decided not to wash my hair or face in the tub so as not to disturb my bubbles and relaxation time. Thoroughly enjoyable and so relaxing. Stepped out and wrapped up in my cozy robe...hair and face still needed washing so tipped over my sink and completed those tasks. All was good in the world until I realized I applied my leave-in hair conditioner to my face and combed my night facial cream through my hair ...do you think maybe I drank the Lavender Martini water too?
  2. Firefly those bars are beautiful! What type of mold is that you're using? I'm still at the shoebox stage and am thinking about buying a mold or two.
  3. The tropical body butter from aquatech is wonderful...the best I've found anywhere. Pricey yes...but that includes shipping and that's no little matter going from NY to AZ for me. I've spent 3 years off and on trying to duplicate it and think I've come close, but like you, I dread cream making day...lots of prep work. This base is ultra thick and creamy...there is no need to whip it. Just add color and fragrance!
  4. Hi and welcome to the board. You may want to post these questions in the B&B secion instead of Soap Making for more responses. Start by checking out the B&B Recipe section. There are many wonderful butter recipes. At the top of the B&B section is a permanent "sticky" explaining preservatives. Also, at the top of every page you'll find the search feature...enter some keywords and it will pull of lots of info from previous threads for you. To get you started, you will need an oil soluable/body safe colorant for non emulsified butters. Polysorbates are not preservatives...they are thickeners and emusifiers. There are NO safe natural preservatives...to properly preserve a product you need to use the real thing. Have fun!
  5. Ya know I THINK I read something in the FDA guidleines that talks about mail order cosmetics not having to be labeled on the package, but a flyer with ingredients had to be included. I'm going to see if I can find that page again. Years ago I ordered some Adrian Arpel cosmetics from QVC and none of the containers were labeled, but my shipment had a pamplet with all product ingredients listed. I assume mail order means items that are shipped from a catalog. Maybe an online business with no hard copy catalog is also considered mail order? I don't know, but I'm going hunting for that info... Do brick and mortar Lush stores include an ingredient sticker on their bags? Found it: http://www.fda.gov/cosmetics/cosmeticlabelinglabelclaims/cosmeticlabelingmanual/ucm126444.htm The direct mail stuff is near the bottom. I need to study it more...
  6. Thanks so much for the tutorials...love those soaps and am breaking out my M&P today!
  7. Maybe fresh cut grass and leather mix...I dunno, that's a toughie!
  8. OK Miss Loulou...hows it doing since you wrapped it?
  9. Oh good, now I can see them...gorgeous! You have got to tell me how you made the lollipops pweeeeeeeeze? I just got tons of m&p from the co-op and would love to make those for all the "littles" in my life.
  10. Oh, I want to see but all I see are red X's
  11. Yes that's the same pan I use. I think I got mine on Amazon for a bit cheaper...may have been cheaper because I bought it with two other items though. I also just bought another mini crown muffin pan that has the standard round crown. The regular crown muffin pans are huge...was too big for a bath cupcake IMO.
  12. Ha Loulou, I logged in again tonight to ask if you had any more news on your vanilla pear bars to find your update. Thanks much...please do post on the Blue Hawaiian. I still haven't placed my order with WSP. Got caught up testing a new bomb recipe trying to eliminate the cornstarch. It's always something!
  13. I like the ewax NF a lot. An added plus is use can use "emulsifying wax NF" on your labels...it's a lot shorter than the other one...silly reason, but hey :smiley2:
  14. Thanks all...these are really fun to make! The mold is actually a mini crown muffin pan with daisy shaped top/crown. I just went a little wild at an online cupcake decorating store and bought all types of different toppings too. Jumbo confetti, candy pearls and oh so much more. I need to hide my debit card from myself!
  15. Love your table covers! Did you make them?
  16. Pardon the pic quality and my editing skills...I was too lazy to set up my lighting equipment. These are Bubble Cupcakes with an FBB icing recipe I'm fiddling with. Scent is Lavender Martini from NG. I'm not too happy with the candy sprinkles, but I couldn't find my confetti dots.
  17. Carebear, do you have one that you like the best?
  18. Thanks mucho...sounds like I need to give it a try!
  19. Thanks for the info. Are your Vanilla Pear bars still OK? and, does this stuff stink as bad as the reviewers say? AND...ha...does the smell go away as claimed? so many questions...sorry!
  20. Lou Lou, I meant to ask you, do you blend it up per the instructions for soap? Equal parts? Or do you have another method? Kitn, I've heard good reviews about the BCN stuff in soap.
  21. Thanks for that info! I'm just getting ready to order a few things from WSP so I'll get some to try. Forgot to add that I also have the Vanilla Pear from NG...I love the scent for B&B!
  22. Has anyone ever used a VS in bubble bars? I really want to use some of my vanilla scents but they are turning my bubble bars brown. Don't have the problem in any other products. Also, does anyone have a rec for the best VS?
