  1. thanks for the replies...BBW doesn't use the glue dots, but I might try them if I can find tiny ones...or cut the big ones. This stuff may come in a jar or tube and just a little dab will do. I can't think of what it's called to google it...maybe I'll just google for sticky stuff!
  2. I'm trying to google for that sticky stuff that secures items together in gift bags, boxes etc...like the stuff that Bath and Body Works uses. They put a little dab of it on top of jars and in between bottles to hold them steady inside the container. It pulls apart easily and you can roll it up with your finger and remove it. Am I making sense? I've wracked my brain (what's left of it) for google terms to find it...can anyone help?
  3. BCN carries them but they are listed as WU zinc on their site. I love these wicks :smiley2: but find their comparison chart a bit off for my wax.
  4. Never heard that theory...with bath bombs yes...with candles no. Pour away, it's not going to matter.
  5. just a thought, but maybe the manufacturer of the 12oz salsa is discontinuing so suppliers must also???
  6. I love their Cinnamon Sandalwood - has a kick butt throw!
  7. Don't know if my results count here as I use a parasoy (approx 30-40% soy according to my supplier)...that was all he would tell me anyway. When I first started testing this wax it seemed to be overwicked (torch height flame) no matter what wick I tried. I put tons of testers away and went on testing other waxes. Recently I pulled some of these out to burn (they were from 6 months to over a year old)...I was stunned when nearly all of them burned perfectly. They also still looked great having set out in a cold garage over winter and a very hot garage in the summer.
  8. Right now my fave 3 are: Sweet Potatoe Pie NG Sweet Orange and Chilli Pepper MC Graham Cracker Spice JBN I use parasoy
  9. JBN carries the same Graham Cracker that GL did - I know because I called. It is an awesome sent - really throws well in about every wax I've tried.
  10. I don't use that wax, but looks like the others having success are adding their fo at a higher temp. I had the same problem when I started out - adding my fo at too low a temp and it definately killed the hot throw.
  11. Interesting, it does sound like the same description...probably the manufacturers sound bite for companys to put on their websites. I called JBN and asked if the 9900 is the same wax as GL's 7505 and was told it is. He also told me that it is about 30-40% soy. I've been testing the 9900 this week and so far really like it. I add a bit of CO to it and am loving the jar adhesion, melt pool and throw.
  12. Yes, by mistake I mixed the 7505 and 3020 together thinking they were the same wax. What I meant was I like the 7505 alone much better (I add CO to it). The accidental mix produced tons of wet spots very quickly and my wick results were drastically different. I pulled some of my older 7505 candles, stored in boxes and still have little to no wetspots.
  13. Thanks Chuck, I have tested Clarus 3020...it's a nice wax, but I like the 7505 better...seem to get a better burn and no wetspots I add coconut oil to it and to my mind it really helps with throw and believe it or not, the co seems to control the schrooming with my zinc wicks! I originally thought the two waxes were the same so mixed them together and the difference in adhesion between the straight 7505 and the mix is amazing. By the way, I called JBN and was told their 9900 is the same as GL's 7505.
  14. Does anyone know if JBNs 9900 parasoy blend is the same wax as GLs 7505 parasoy? I've been using the 7505 and really love it. Suppose I can call the company to find out...if they'll tell me that is
  15. Bumping up to see if any one in todays crowd might know.
  16. Thanks Gypsy, that's what I thought and called them on Friday after GL announced closing. He told me that it wasn't them . I know they used to supply them with the 70/30 so I naturally assumed they were supplying the 30/70 (which the 7505 supposedly is).
  17. Hi Naomi, hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I gave up on the victory blend...I hit it with every wick and size in my arsenal (I have them all ha!) and they were all torches. Let me see if I can find my notes...maybe I had a success I don't remember.
  18. Just wondering if anyone knows what company manufactures the SB 7505 from GL? I really like this wax and assume I can now get it at JBN since Greenleaf has closed, BUT I would like to check around and see who else carries it...but all suppliers seem to rename their waxes so it's takes some detective work. I like to use a wax that I can get from several suppliers so I don't get stuck when one closes down.
  19. I wonder if it's the same wax that GL called SB7505 (also a parasoy blend)? Their descriptions are almost identical on their websites so makes me think it may be from the same manufacturer. Since JBN sells alot of the same products as GL and is now taking over their product line...just my guess??? I have used the 7505 and it's a very nice wax...very pretty when set up, burns nicely and throws great (I add a touch of CO to it). I was thinking of making it 'my' wax, but now that GL has closed I don't want to be stuck with a wax I can only get from one supplier. Sure would like to know who the manufacturer is so I can find out who else sells it.
  20. Sad to see, I ordered my wax and some wonderful fo's from them. They were a good company with great customer service. I just place an order earlier in the week that shipped this past Wednesday.
  21. I tested the 6098 and did get a nice hot throw, but the wetspots were awful...don't think it was my process or jars because other waxes I tested and the one I use now look fine in my jars. I still have a slab and a half. If anyone wants to try it PM me or I'll just list it in the classies. I got it from Let It Shine and yes they are very pricey.
  22. welcome! When I first started making candles this place was the best place to learn...have fun! I don't get over here much anymore, but always learn something new when I do.
  23. You need to purchase oil based/body safe colors...that's all folks!
