ProPay to me is a good starting point for any business. But the FEES are higher than a typical merchant account. I had ProPay when I first started out and it definitely served me well but I quickly realized that I was going to run into the maximum in charges (they didn't offer different options when I had it) and that the fees were quickly adding up. I have a full merchant account with www.merchantexpress.com - I could not come up with a better plan with either my bank or another local bank.

I would use www.craftlister.com or www.eventlisters.com its free! I did at one time have a membership to www.festivalnet.com but can't honestly say that it was worth the money for it. Sure it had several listings but a bunch of them are on ther other links I provided and they are FREE to search.

EDIT: There also various programs out there such as Front Page, Dreamweaver and various WYSIWIG editors that could work for you as well.

Depending on where you are located, I recommend www.uline.com They are local to me so I can pick them up right from their warehouse BUT shipping rates aren't all that bad either.

If you plan to use Go Daddy's hosting, I would probably recommend Mals for the shopping cart. BUT there are plenty of options out there. You can just register your domain with Go Daddy and host it elsewhere, it just all depends on what features you need. The spam issue is a setting in your e-mail. You can actually get rid of it by turning it off in the area you setup your e-mails. Hope that helps

Wow $750? Hope they are darn good! While I have had quite a few go to that price it was because they had me doing 25 or more pages on their site so they were paying hourly. Any image you find on google is copyrighted by the website's owner. As for ClipArt.com, by paying the fee, you are given the right to use the photos/clipart as you need. You just don't have exclusive rights to them so others can use them as well. Hope that helps!

Actually with both DIY and WAHM Shoppes, you can collect the credit card info securely to process manually with ProPay (online). You do not need to use Mals at all with either of them.

For starting a site, you could use www.diyestores.com ($20.00 a month) and you don't necessarily have to have primitive or country graphics. Any graphics you want to use can be used with the system as long as they are named within the specific parameters. You get a fully functioning website, shopping cart built in and its truly DIY.
