  1. https://www.candlemakingsupplies.net/2022/05/03/how-to-add-candle-fragrances-to-your-candles/ Once you begin candle making it’s always exciting experimenting with different fragrances oils, as well as essential oils but it’s important to understand what is the right amount of fragrance oils that should be added to your candle wax. As well as when you should add your oils to your candle wax. FRAGRANCE OILS VS. ESSENTIAL OILS Fragrance oils are defined as a concentrated blend of synthetic or natural aroma components used to create a scented oil. In addition, fragrance oils have been mixed with scentless carrier oils allowing the aroma to be lightweight which will allow your scent to come through once burned. Essential oils are defined as concentrated oil derived from an organic/natural substance (plant material, flowers, leaves, wood, and grass). In addition, these oils are referred to as “essential” as they contain the strongest scent that a particular plant, root, or flower contains, embodying its full essence. To learn more about the differences between essential oils and fragrance oils read our previous blog Fragrance oils vs. Essentials oils: Defining oils for scented candles. AMOUNT OF CANDLE FRAGRANCES When using candle fragrance oils, the amount of fragrance oil you use depends on the type of wax, the type of fragrance oil, and of course your personal preferences of scent throw. Scent throw The Scent throw is the quality of smell in which your candle gives off. The over aroma it will create in your space. Important to note: Using too little fragrance may result in a light scent throw, while using too much may result in a strong hot throw. Also, it is important to be careful to not overload your wax with fragrance oils, this can lead to your candle sweating or curdling and other issues. We recommend using 1 ounce of fragrance oils per pound of wax you will be using to craft your candles. Measurements It is also important to note when measuring out how much candle wax and fragrance oil you will be using, it is essential to note that we suggest you work with ounces (oz.) or grams (g), ultimately measuring oils in ounces. For Soy wax, the recommended fragrance load is about 9% Depending on how many candles you will be making and the capacity of your candle vessel. For Coconut and blended waxes, you can add about 10% to 12% of fragrance oils to your wax, keep in mind this will give your candle a very strong scent. The fragrance oil ratios are important as they may also impact your candle wicks and the melt pool of the candle. Finding the perfect balance is definitely a challenge for all candle makers but it’s imperative that you test during your candle-making process to know which products work best for you and to observe how each product works when crafting.
  2. Candles have become the epitome of class and luxury. When it comes to floating candles and tealight candles, they are the most versatile type of candles, which can be used for enhancing the appearance and reflecting the décor theme of any space or occasion. Whether used as centerpieces or as accent décor, these candles create a fresh and modern look. Floaters and tealights can be used to create an elegant or rustic look depending on the type of glass containers used. Nowadays, floaters and tealights are considered a nice addition to the table setting. These candles can create a cozy and pleasant atmosphere in every event. Floating candles or floaters are very versatile decorative candles. They can be placed in any vessel that holds water. They come in different shapes and are designed to ensure they will remain stable as they burn rather than tipping or sinking and extinguishing themselves. Floating candles can be added to water features in your garden and around your home. Scattered across your swimming pool, they will create a beautiful effect. Just make sure your pool pump is turned off. Floaters are very popular as a centerpiece at your dinner table or for your next event. Depending on the theme of your event you can use different décor elements such as flowers or a fern leaf, fruit, seashells or sequins. Tealight candles or tealights are candles encased in a thin aluminum or plastic cup so that the candle can liquefy completely while lit. They are typically small, circular, and wider than their height. Because of their small size and low level of light, multiple tealights are often burned simultaneously. Tealights can come in many different sizes, small and large, as well as burn times and scents. However, the most common tealight is 1.5 in by 0.63 in, with white unscented wax. A standard tealight candle typically has a burn time anywhere between 3-5 hours. ELEGANT AND ROMANTIC DÉCOR WITH WHITE FLOATING CANDLES AND TEALIGHT CANDLES According to professional designers, the most exquisite floaters and tealights are white, although there are many other shades. The ideal décor option for creating a chic atmosphere is the combination of these candles with transparent glass, as such an alliance is perfect for any color scheme of the table. To achieve a romantic mood in the house, you can use small candlesticks in the form of flowers or vintage lanterns made of white-painted metal wire. DÉCOR WITH BRIGHT TEALIGHT CANDLES If you are seeking something bright, place tealight candles in colored glass candlesticks. The interesting fact is that the sophistication of the shape of the candlestick does not play any role: tealights will sparkle with new colors even in simple, hand-painted jars. This technique works great for creating color effects in a table setting - similar to other elements of the table. If you choose to use colored tealight candles, the rules of good taste suggest a neutral tone for candlesticks. Another option is to use a colored tealight in a transparent candlestick, wrap the latter with a simple white cloth and tied it with a thin ribbon in the color of the candle. For colored floating candles, get contrasting ones and place them in “layers” in a tall vase, and put flowers and acrylic pebbles at the bottom. TEALIGHT CANDLES AND FLOATING CANDLES WITH GLASSES Placing floating candles in a glass is a well-known technique. But nowadays there is another trendy technique for tealights and glasses: the glass is turned upside down and acts as an elegant candlestick. How simple and brilliant that is! To get a more chic design, take the tealight out of the aluminum/plastic cup. TEALIGHT CANDLES IN ONE LINE A spectacular solution, supposedly coming from Southeast Asia. Combine them with a long narrow boat tray or flower petals, it will look amazing.

  4. Candle colors: since ancient times, candles have had great magical significance in this magical world. Wise men knew that the color of a candle greatly affects not only the energy of space, but also has a direct influence on humans. Some scientists made observations and analyzed each color of candles during meditation and came to the following conclusion: candles can not only cleanse with their flame but also attract money into your life, improve family relationships, balance and energize you. And the ritual with a candle will help the meditator, which will require only 10-15 minutes a day. MEDITATION WITH A CANDLE Preparation for meditation: Before meditation, you need to finish all your doings, turn off the phone, and remove everything that will distract you. It is very important to follow this rule, otherwise, it won’t work. Take the ritual very seriously and with great responsibility, you must concentrate and fully trust this process. Choose the color of the candle that is closest to your emotional state or the one that will help you attract something in your life. The choice can be made in two ways: 1) Just trust yourself and take the candle that you like the most - in this case, your subconscious will tell you what you need; 2) A conscious approach - choose the color that best suits you. HOW TO MEDITATE: It is best to meditate in a dimmed room - if you decide to start meditating during the day, then close your windows with curtains. It is important that the sun does not shine in your eyes. It is preferable to meditate in the evenings. In order to better focus, you can pick up any natural stone: the best ones are amethyst, rock crystal and fluorite. It is also good to read your favorite prayer to yourself. Sit comfortably, and you are ready to begin. Place a candle at eye level and look closely at the fire, try to concentrate on the candle as much as possible. Do not rush yourself: not everyone can turn off their thoughts immediately, but do not give up. After 21 days of meditation, you will feel how all thoughts will evaporate only at the sight of the flame itself. At first, it’s better to meditate for about ten minutes, then you can stay in it for up to half an hour - the main thing is to listen to yourself. And the last thing: if you want to close your eyes during meditation, feel free to do it, and just try to visualize this candle in your subconscious. It is better to leave the meditative state gradually, and stay in peace and quiet for some time. The candle must be put out by hand after meditation and put in a box until the next meditation. You need to meditate once a day with one color. CANDLE COLOR MEANINGS RED CANDLE Is your life lacking love and passion? Then the red candle is the right choice for you. Meditation with a red candle will help you become confident in yourself, and help kindle a spark in your eyes. Do not meditate on people with a quick temper with a red candle: this will only aggravate your nervousness. ORANGE CANDLE Do you feel that the whole world is against you, and your strength is already running out? Meditation with an orange candle will change everything. You will not only restore your strength and connection with the outside world, but also begin to share this miracle with everyone. The main thing to remember is that when you are saturated with energy, you should know how to use it correctly, good deeds will only strengthen you. YELLOW CANDLE Are you often sick for no reason? A yellow candle is perfect for your meditation. It will not only heal your body but also cleanse, warm and balance your soul. The most important thing in this meditation is your faith. Also, remember that patience is your main weapon against all ailments. GREEN CANDLE Broke up with your loved one, but the pain in your heart still haunts you? It will also heal you from old wounds and help you move on without too much burden on your soul. LIGHT BLUE CANDLE You do not see the point in life, and deep depression chokes you and prevents you from focusing on the most important things? Meditation with a light blue candle will put an end to this vicious circle of self-torture. It will help you see the world anew, will bring lightness into your life, and will take you out of severe depression. BLUE CANDLE Have you stopped feeling connected to yourself, and intuition began to let you down? Meditation with a blue candle will fix everything. It will open and harmonize all your chakras, strengthen your intuition, and relieve you of doubts and excessive skepticism. But remember, this candle is not suitable for people who are sensitive or irritable - they should try meditation with a white candle. PURPLE CANDLE Do you feel that someone is sucking the strength out of you, or do you have an unreasonable fear? A purple candle will save you from this problem once and for all. In addition, it will strengthen your aura and prevent energy vampires from disturbing you. And love and harmony will bloom again in your heart. WHITE CANDLE Feeling like you need a complete reboot? Perhaps one of the most powerful meditations is the meditation with a white candle. It is ideal for both enlightened people and those who aspire to it. Meditation helps to understand yourself, your destiny and skillfully manage your abilities. It will also help you to get rid of bad thoughts, and set you up for the right vibrations. You need to start meditating from five minutes and gradually add a minute every day (up to 30 minutes). BLACK CANDLE This is the most powerful meditation aimed at cleansing from damage, evil eye, slander, birth curses, etc. Also, meditation with a black candle removes astral bindings and attachments. It is necessary to use such a candle very carefully since during the ritual there is too much reset of negative programs. Start with two to three minutes and add a minute every two days, this will allow you to smoothly get rid of the negativity. GOLD CANDLE A gold candle is a symbol of male power. Lovely ladies, if you lack determination and self-confidence, meditation with a golden candle will definitely help you. It will increase your endurance, bravery and courage to solve complicated situations. Men can mediate with this candle as well. But do not forget, dear ladies: the abuse of such meditation leads to irreversible consequences, that is, you can stop being soft and feminine. It is recommended to meditate once or twice a week for 5-7 minutes. SILVER CANDLE If your partner complains that you no longer understand her/him then meditation with a silver candle is a better thing to start. It will enhance your softness and intuitiveness and add romantic qualities to you. It is recommended to use this candle once or twice a week for 5-7 minutes. PINK CANDLE If you are disturbed by an excessive temper, you become irritable and sometimes put your anger on others, a pink candle will help you. Meditation with such a candle makes you more peaceful and harmonious, helps you cope with emotions and tune in to positive changes. BROWN CANDLE Do you tend to doubt, and lack self-confidence and purposefulness? Regular meditations with a brown candle will help you gain confidence in yourself and the ability to defend your point of view and your place under the sun. The brown color of the candle helps to ground, and it is especially useful for people who spend more time in dreams than in reality. GREY CANDLE Meditation with a gray candle helps to harmonize the energies of Yin and Yang, and strengthen your strong-willed qualities. If you have a question or a situation from which you still do not see a way out, meditation with this candle will suit you: it will help you delve into the very essence of the problem, see it from the other side and find a solution faster. https://www.generalwax.com/blog/2022/04/26/candle-color-meaning-for-meditation/

Ultimately choosing the candle wick for your candle is the same as many factors come into play when choosing the correct wick that will properly burn your candles, but the two most important factors you must keep in mind are the type of wax and the diameter of the candle vessel you will be using. MEASURE YOUR CANDLE VESSEL It’s important before choosing your wick that you measure the vessel whether you are using a mold or a container for your candle. You will need to find the diameter of your vessel to ensure you pick the right wick that will burn your candle properly. Diameter is the distance from one end of the circle to the other, straight across. For some candle makers you may need to choose if you need to use one wick or multiple wicks. Note: For larger candle vessels you may need two or even three wicks for your candle to burn properly. Larger containers, which can be anything larger than 3-inches, which typically benefit from multiple wicks in the candle. WAX AND WICKS It’s important to understand that whichever wick you choose to craft with that your wick should be compatible with the type of wax you will be crafting with. For instance, if you are using our 100% C3 Soy wax you will want to use any of our HTP Wicks. UNDERSTANDING WICK SIZES It is important to take note that with each candle wick within a series (meaning our HTP is one series of wicks) that the larger the number of the wicks the larger the wick size. For example, an HTP 116 wick will be bigger in size than a HTP 105 Wick. Our HTP 105 wick is compatible with our Monticiano candle vessels. Key Takeaways: Measure your candle vessels Determine which wick will be compatible with the particular wax you are using. 12. Arrangements with floating candles are a great way to decorate an interior or a festive event. Such an original décor will perfectly complement a wedding decoration or a romantic dinner. The use of floating candles creates a special atmosphere: their soft flickering reflected from the water surface fills a room with bright tints of glare and subdued light. Such unusual decorations look good on a table, as well as in a more intimate environment. DECORATIVE ARRANGEMENT WITH FLOATING CANDLES To make a decorative arrangement with floating candles you will need: transparent vases of different sizes flowers floating candles decorative tape Option 1 If you want to make a single composition, prepare a round vase, the size of which will allow you to place several items inside. Fill the container with water and carefully place the floating candles in the center. Cut off the stems of the flowers and place the flower heads in the vase so that they are freely balanced on the surface. Any flowers are suitable for a decorative arrangement, but varieties with large buds work better. For example, you can use bright gerberas, chamomiles, daisies, orchids, roses, or gardenias that have large petals that will create the right proportions. Option 2 This design option involves the creation of a more complex compositional scheme based on the simultaneous decoration of several vases at once. For décor, you will need three containers of the same shape, but different sizes. Fill each vase halfway with water. Put three floating candles in the first vase, only one candle in the second vase, and flowers in the third vase. Make sure to shorten the flowers in advance to the desired length. As a result, you will get an unusual design, which will look fresh and extraordinary due to the difference in the height of the containers and the contrasting combination of elements. Option 3 If there are no beautiful vases at hand, you can even use ordinary glass jars to create a composition. Simply decorate the jar with a decorative ribbon around the neck, and complete the décor with floating candles by placing one in each jar. Whichever design option you choose, candles will allow you to create a romantic and cozy environment quickly and without hassle. You can create your own arrangement by choosing a design to your taste. Any transparent container will do as a base. For example, you can use crystal or glass bowls, goblets and even glasses. The main thing is that the containers are transparent and do not draw all attention to themselves. You can also use beads, crystals, pebbles, artificial pearls, berries, etc. as décor elements with your floating candles. As for the candles themselves, many variations are also possible here. When choosing the candles consider the season and features of the event for which the composition is being created. For the New Year, you can use white star-shaped candles, and for Valentine's Day, red heart-shaped candles are the perfect fit. Candles imitating flowers or butterflies will look appropriate for spring events, while for summer you can pick up shell candles that will set the tone for the whole composition. If desired, a little food dye can be added to the water to give the liquid a hue that will blend harmoniously with decorative elements and flowers. You can apply your creativity and imagination when creating decorations with floating candles. Experiment, and you will get a unique design that will become a real decoration of any solemn or family event.

  14. Lighting a scented candle can easily become part of your yoga practice or meditation ritual; a physical act to set the stage for reflection and fill the room with soothing notes. Meditation is a concept originating from the prehistoric period. It refers to any form of spiritual practice: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Taoism and other practices. Meditation is a special process that will make you achieve spiritual growth and “enlightenment”. The essence of meditation is the acquisition of inner freedom, which is impossible without the “silence of the mind”. What does it mean? - the absence of obsessive thoughts, peace of mind and focus on the present moment. Nowadays, meditation can be practiced without any religious or spiritual overtones. In the rhythm of modern life, meditation allows you to relax both physically and spiritually, to relieve the load of stress. We have all been in a meditative state, for example, when we looked at the flames of a fire or clouds floating across the sky, time flew by so imperceptibly. However, conscious meditation is a skill that is developed by practice. In order to enhance the effect of meditation and help achieve the desired state, various methods and attributes are used that improve concentration, relieve nervous tension, improve blood circulation in the brain, and so on. The most common attributes of meditation include: music, sounds of nature aromas (incense, essential oils, scented candles, etc.) candles as a source of fire and contemplation Today we are going to talk about the use of scented candles in meditation. Scented candles are a perfect way to transform any space into the ideal place for a calming yoga session or meditation practice. Using candles for yoga and meditation at home or within a studio can support you in focusing your mind, anchoring your practice and moving into a mentally and physically calming space. The right combination of scents can take weight from our shoulders, evoke creativity and help with emotional healing. Traditional scents used in yoga and meditation include sandalwood and frankincense, though there are now of course many more to explore for your yoga practice. Scents are an essential part of yoga practice, as a smell can promote strong emotional reactions, such as relaxation. Whilst incense is traditionally used in yoga, as it’s believed to purify the air and soothe the mind, body and spirit – some can find it a little overpowering. Candles for yoga and meditation are a perfect alternative for creating a soothing space. Many studios consciously choose candles for yoga to create a peaceful atmosphere for meditation and yoga classes. The ambiance and mood can be set with just a few candles, but it comes down to knowing which scents will help to support different types of yoga and meditation. Scents like vetiver and sweet marjoram have woody and earthy qualities, perfect for creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Fragrances like rosemary and lemon can energize and focus you during your yoga practice. There are other scents that are well known for being stress-relieving, relaxing, and unwinding, such as lavender, sage, and sandalwood. Using candles for meditation can help to transport your mind to a soothed space, signaling to your mind that now is the time to sit, to be still. Historically, candles have been a significant and traditional element of rituals and spiritual practices. Whether placed at an altar, lit at shrines and statues, or the flames to honor the memory of loved ones, candles have long been richly symbolic. HOW TO USE SCENTED CANDLES FOR MEDITATION Take your time to set the intention as you light your candle. Look out for candles with jasmine which promotes relaxation, or sage which has been a long-used scent in meditation practices. Start your practice by dimming any lights, whether closing curtains or turning off artificial lights so you can focus on the light of the candles. Set up your candle or candles across the room so you create a soothing ambiance of flickering light, or set one candle in front of you to act as a focal point during your meditation. Next, make sure you’re in a comfortable position and wearing loose, soft clothing. Pick a candle to gaze at, as a starting point to settle your thoughts. Let the flickering candle occupy your mind. From here, you can shift your meditation into one with your eyes closed or choose to focus on something else other than the candle’s flame.

Step 1: Weigh and Melt Wax To begin, place your Melting pot on your scale then tare the weight of the melting pot. By doing so you will eliminate the weight of the pot, this is important because once you weigh out your wax you will only want the weight of your wax. Then weigh 1Ib of wax (100% Soy Wax or Soy and Paraffin blended wax) using a double boiler or hot plate heat your wax to approximately 185F if on stove top keep heat on low. Step 2: Prep Your Candle tealight cups While your wax is melting, prepare your tealight cups; attach a glue dot to the bottom of your pre-tabbed wicks. Place a wick in the center of each of your tealight cups. Step 3: Add Dye and Stir Once your wax is fully melted add 1 to 2 drops of liquid dye of your choice, if you are using dye blocks/chips use only ¼ - ½ of a dye block and 1 chip per pound of wax being used. Then begin to gently stir your dye into your wax until your dye is fully blended into your wax. Step 4: Add fragrance oil and Stir Remove wax from the double boiler then add the fragrance oil of your choice. Add 1oz per pound of wax you are using and stir gently. Step 5: Pour you wax into tealight cups The final step to crafting your tealight candles is to pour. Once your wax has cooled to at least 135F it is safe to pour your wax into your tealight cups. Pour carefully and slowly making sure that your wicks are sticking straight up through the middle. After pouring, give your candles at least 24hrs to set.
  16. Most of us don't know how to use a candle correctly. Most of us don't realize that there is a right way to burn a candle and most of us have no idea what that is. As a result, we have to scrape the soot off a candlestick and experience other unfortunate consequences. Follow these tips and you'll be a real candle-burning pro. How do you light a candle and treat it while it is burning? Many do not have the slightest idea how to use the purchased candle to the maximum. Follow these guidelines and you'll get way more out of your candles every time with no wasted wax (or scent). Trim the wick Don't be lazy, each time you want to burn your candle, start by trimming the wick to between 1/8 and 1/4 inches long. You can use scissors, nail clippers, or a wick trimmer. Why every time? Trimmed wicks will make your candle burn cleaner and brighter. Untrimmed wicks are a lot more likely to take on a strange shape that dulls and obscures the flame. Also, excessively long wicks cause nasty smoky stains that end up on your glass jar candles. By the way, the most convenient way to light a candle is to use long matches. Let the wax melt all the way across When you have your candle lit, do not extinguish it until the top layer of wax is completely melted. This may take several hours. If you are not ready to wait that long, it is better not to light a candle at all. If you do not let the wax melt completely, you're contributing to a process called tunneling. Tunneling happens when only a small portion of the wax around the wick melts while the candle is burning. Instead of having the entire surface of the wax melt evenly, it will appear as though the flame is burrowing into the candle and creating what resembles a small, vertical tunnel. Inside the tunnel, the wax directly underneath the flame quickly melts into the liquid while the surrounding wax remains hard. This causes the tunneling to become worse over time. Once the wick descends deeper into the surrounding wax, the flame won’t be able to get enough oxygen to sustain itself, causing the candle to go out. Tunneling is bad because it can drastically reduce the total burn time of your candle. Yes, it takes patience. But if you let the wax melt completely every time you light a candle, the surface of the candle will remain smooth and the walls of the candlestick clean. Buy Candles with Multiple Wicks If you don’t have time or patience to wait for the wax to melt all the way across, buy candles that have two or more wicks. More flames mean more heat, which leads to a quicker melt. It also throws more scent. Avoid very wide single-wick candles. The heat from one wick is clearly not enough to completely melt the entire candle. Keep your candle flame away from high traffic areas Try to keep the burning candle far away from fans, air conditioners, open windows, or high traffic areas. Moving air can disturb the flame, which can also stain the tin or jar, and can give you tunneling and other issues. Don't blow out the candle To extinguish a candle, cover it with some kind of lid, but do not blow it out (unless, of course, this is a candle from your birthday cake). This way you can avoid unpleasant odors. Now you are ready. Use your candles the way the pros do, save money and effort, and enjoy your candles to the fullest.
  17. As Easter approaches, it is good to know what candles are used for that holiday. Also known as Easter candles or Christ candles, paschal candles are an important part of the fifty-day Easter season celebration of many Christian religions throughout the world. Paschal candles are large candles that have important Christian symbols on them. The decorations on a paschal candle include: White candle A cross The letter for alpha The letter for omega The year Optional decorations signifying redemption or renewal White Candle - the candle itself is white, which along with gold, is the liturgical color of the Easter season. A Cross - this is usually the center of the design. These are usually red and/or gold. Alpha and Omega - to represent the beginning and the end, are above (alpha) and below (omega) the cross. The Year - either surrounding the cross (2 numbers on top of the cross arms and 2 numbers under the cross arms) or the full year can be at the bottom of the candle. Cloves - 5 cloves can be included on the candle. These represent the nails that hung Jesus on the cross, and also the 5 wounds of Christ. These are placed into the end of the arm of each cross, and one right in the middle of the cross. Eucharistic Symbols - this can include the Paschal Lamb, Guadalupe, Eucharist, chalice, grapes, wheat, pelican, etc. These symbols are usually under the traditional cross. Generally made of at least fifty-one percent beeswax, the paschal candles for Easter remains in its place in the front of the church throughout the Easter season and is lit for all services. Once the fifty-day Easter season ends, on Pentecost, the candle is moved to its position by the baptismal font and is lit for all baptisms. It is also lit for all funeral services and is placed next to the casket at those times. In both baptism and funeral services, the significance of the paschal candle decorations remains the same as they were during the Easter season. They are symbols that God is always present with you from the beginning to the end.

Surround yourself with those things and those people that bring positive emotions. Smile often, love, laugh - just allow yourself to be happy. Candles are considered the easiest way of adding instant hygge to your life. Meik Wiking, in his book ‘The Little Book of Hygge’, said that “no recipe for hygge is complete without candles.” Adding a luxury scented candle to your home or office creates a sense of ‘hygge’ in your life. 85% of Danish people associate candles with hygge. The power of candles comes from the atmosphere that it creates, adding light and a gentle glow to your space.
