  1. I use C-3 too and don't worry about the little hairline cracks. When I do heatgun the tops, I just leave them sit out on my table, and they're okay. You also might want to try pouring hotter. It's a hot pour wax, around 150. Welcome!
  2. I like the term "hobby farm". Can you use it? Hobby Farm Scents for the Home Oh, now, as long as people don't think animal scents... Hobby Farm Candles and Soaps (Bath)
  3. That's an interesting hypothesis. I think you figured right, just trying to remember which formula is for circumference and which for area. Now I have to look it up... Okay, that's right, 7.07 just seemed small to me for some reason. You'll have to experiment and let us know. I would probably measure a square jar from corner to corner and try to wick it based on that measurement. Hmmm...this might be a more mathematical way to go. But then, what about rectangular containers?
  4. I'm thinking you just have some realistic-smelling FOs. That's kind of a good thing. You just need a little bitty gnat swatter now!
  5. Could you do something with your wood? Someone gave us a gift of a wooden plaque with our names and wedding date carved out. Got homemade frames from someone else. I only make candles but maybe someone who makes soap or B&B uses the same scent you put in the candle?
  6. Don't have the sites right now (little girl is sitting on me), but there are a lot. The jar store, Fairway Glass (has warehouse in Ohio), Fancy candle jars (if that's not hte exact name, it's close), some candle suppliers also sell jars. There are more too. Watch the little ads on the sides of this board, some of them are jars. Hope that helps a little!
  7. Sometimes websites visited can be found in the history; has she checked that?
  8. How many burns have you done? Might catch up after another burn or two.
  9. Not a real request, really, but my husband and one of his customers (he sells food, this was a butcher) thought I should find something that smells like ribs.
  10. Word has a little ruler along the side and top. If not, there's a way to tell it to show up for you. You can also change the margins. To see if it's right, I'd print it on regular paper and hold it up to the size you want.
  11. A pound of wax should give you about 8 votives (2oz each) or 16 tarts. An accurate digital scale is a must, too! Welcome!
  12. Oooooh, I want a milkshake right now!
  13. Maybe I could sneak one of my husband's ties, dip it in wax and see what it does? He wouldn't notice.
  14. Ingrid, I've only tried BC's oils for reed diffusers so far. There's a thread on here somewhere where people have tried different mixers for their FOs to make diffuser oils, might give you some ideas. Sorry, don't know what else to tell you. Try a small amount of something and see what you think? Anyone else?? Here's that thread: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4999&highlight=reed+diffuser
  15. Not very creative, all I can think of is a river winding through mountains, perhaps in the shape of a flame? Or floating candles going down the river?
  16. A5 is HTP 105 and A4 is HTP 104 I have a supplier who labels them that way but haven't seen anyone else do it. I think at one time it was referred to as A5? I'll have to check their website... Okay, their site doesn't say why, but they are the same.
  17. I don't think they look so bad. The second one does seem a little busy, but the first is nice. Don't think I'd use so many colors on the fonts, though. Your lip smoochies font is very neat, but it's difficult to read. I don't care for the third one. The one with the lightning bolt is different, unique. I'm not pleased with my labels yet. I was at first, but now my stepsister's working on a design for me. Can't wait to see it! Keep at it, angel, you'll come up with something you like and fits your products.
  18. I like it! Mine do that around the wick all the time. Keep playing!
  19. Very nice! I'll bet that was a great-smelling wedding!
  20. Looks nice! I wonder if it might be better to use an orange or white heart with those colors? Hard to tell a whole lot from the pictures, but it sounds like you're having fun.
  21. Oh, I just ordered a sample pack yesterday! Bummer!
