  1. I want to start making soaps. Can anyone tell me where to buy they best melt and pour based near WV? I don't mind buying from out of state.
  2. Hi Sharon. I live in WV. For me wicking this wax is easy, but getting the right amount of scent is the problem. I think I will be testing the rest of the wax with at least 1.5 oz. I am thinking all soy and soy blends need to be testing at that starting part.
  3. Two months. WOW. I have tested in soy years ago when it first came out and had no problems with scent throw. It was the wicks and frosting that bothered me. I went back to parrifin. Now that soy is so popular I am trying it again. I could not wait for two months. Two weeks is my max at waiting.
  4. It has been two weeks on all of them and very little throw if any. Just don't know what went wrong except you have to use more than an once. I wish that the suppilers would tell you this when you buy the scents from them.
  5. I never had to do this with my parrifin candles so need some advice. I made 5 batches of JS 50/50 votives with their scents. I can hardly smell them. I added 1 oz scent to 1 lb of wax. Can I melt these down and add 1/2 oz more scent and hopefully they will throw or maybe even 1 1/2 oz more of scent? Thanks
  6. I am still getting info on soy and soy blend waxes. I love making chunk candles in the parrifin and was wondering does anyone make chunk votives or pillars with soy blend wax and what kind does the best? Thank you,
  7. Has anyone tried their scents in soy and soy blend? Which ones were strong and how much did you have to use per bl? Thank you,
  8. What do you put in your own blend? I know each formula is a secret, but what goes into soys to make them different? I am used to making my own parrifin blends, but have no idea what to put in soy to make a blend.
  9. Yes I saw something about the golden brands too and cannot find it again. I am using IGI 4786 and will not use anything else there, but looking into soy and soy blends. That is will confusing. I don't want to buy a brand that is made up by a local supplier, because just like you said if they close you have to find another. Does anyone know where that golden brand posts are?
  10. Ok, I am looking at alot of suppliers websites getting a headache. There are so many out there. Can you really find out if you are testing the same wax from different suppilers when they say it is their house blend or exclusive wax? Does anyone know of different companies selling same wax and just renaming it? I am looking at the soy and soy blends
  11. I have thought about those two suppiliers in my state, but they do not have the one lb and I do not want 10lbs. I ususally buy my things from out of state since the store I used to buy from in Ripley closed. KY is good and I have bought her PB and find that is good, but have not tried her soy yet. She is on my list to try though.
  12. This is the first soyblend votive wax I have tested and I do not like it. I don't like using more than 1 oz in a pound of wax. I have tested these from JS in their votive blend wax and it just did not work for me. Chamomile Tea cold throw strong hot throw none Cumcumber Melon cold throw medium hot throw mild Pumpkin Spice cold throw mild hot throw mild Apple Jack Peel cold throw weak hot throw week Rosemary Mint cold throw strong hot throw medium. I only smelled mint ,no rosemary I have other scents from JS , but will be testing in her soy blend container. I just hope they do better. I made these last thursday and burned them yesterday. I was not the only ones smelling them too or should I say not smelling them. This is my opinion only and my friends who smelled the candles. You can get several candlemakers making candles and have a different turnout in throws.
  13. I am testing soy and soy blend waxes. Does anyone know where I can buy them without paying an arm and a leg for shipping? I live in WV, but sometimes that does not mean that someone close will have low shipping. I contacted one place in PA and her shipping was more expensive from there to my house than a supplier in Wisconsin to my house. Thanks
  14. I have tried the Ky Pb and it is great if you use 1.5 oz per lb. I am in search of one that I can use just 1 oz per lb, but I don't think I am finding one yet, so will go back and buy some more KY PB.
  15. I was making them too and they would not sell. I ended up putting them in my gift baskets that I was selling.
