  1. I have only tried the Peaks Mac Apple and liked is so much didn't feel like bothering with others, but I just wanted to say that Becky is very generous with her freebies. I just got an order today with 6 extra samples than what I ordered. I am not kidding, 6. It might have just been my lucky day, but I was tickled beyond pink. Speaking of Pink, OOB Pink Petals is so nice and I bet would be great in soap. Also digging the Citrus Linen H20. I can't wait to candle it.
  2. I have Peaks and my niece, who has a lot of the original stuff, really loves it. My sister and the gal that works with her say it is the best! Since I have never smelled the original, I have to assume it is pretty close or they wouldn't be so gaga over it. My daughter thinks it stinks, but she is only 10 what does she know...LOL....EVERYTHING if you ask her
  3. Ordering FO's and getting them in the mail is my favorite thing about candle making.....paying for them is what I hate the most. My daughter loves lavendar and vanilla passion (Peak's). I call it Lavendar Passion. Thing is, I don't acutally like it. My family likes it too....hate that when that happens!
  4. Yep, I am digging having it here. Very handy!!
  5. LOL...yep stinky and hot is what I hear too! I really like the 4794 even tho I hate to repour, it makes a nice, consistent votive. I have tried a few other waxes that made it awfully difficult to get a nice smooth votive everytime. Votives are just too much of a pain in the arse not to have a reliable wax.
  6. LOL candlelovr about divorcing over chunkies. I could just see people asking you, "was it another woman?" and you have to say nope, "he doesn't like my chunkies!" Yep, thems fighting words alright! I don't think my husband is fond of my "chunkies" either and I am not talking about candles...LOL :undecided
  7. Well I make my own with blank labels that I purchase from www.laserinkjetlabels.com. I use a inkjet printer right now. I made up my own design with stickers an an avery art design program. I am pretty computer incompetent, but it is working for me right now. I think there are some label designers on here. I purchase my votive warning labels from PEAK all made up with my name on it and such because I can't seem to do ones that small very well. Play around with it a bit. If you go to the seach button and put in labels you will get to see some pictures of labels that people use. You can also look in the gallery. If you go to the bottom of the main page and go to archives you can pull up a lot more information too (ignore if you have done this already..LOL). Good luck, labels can be tough, but I think they are really important for the personality of your product.
  8. Well that sounds pretty darn good! Making connections is so important too. Sounds like an overall good show.
  9. Wow, those are really very nice. I like them all, but that first one is great!
  10. This is so exciting! Can't wait to see the pictures : ) Yeah, who needs sleep : )
  11. Your kidding right? I was just going to order 1343A from Peaks here in a few days. I have been researching to high heaven on pillars...LOL....just my luck. Well I certainly would be willing to try what Alan comes up tho!
  12. well I had ordered from them for awhile, but I got some wax one time and it was labeled something that I hadn't ordered. So when I emailed Jim, his response well it was probably labeled wrong, so just use it. I just didn't feel that confident that I was getting what I ordered.
  13. The ScentedBean also gives out a free sample and so does candlecacoon. I think it is a great idea. I know that I have ordered scents because of the sample. Peak's sent White Tea & Ginger as a sample and that is now one of my favorites.
  14. Well Julie you must be special...LOL. Same thing as Sharyl said, they no longer put them on the bottles (not even the pounders because that is what I buy most the time), but they will sell them to you. I havent' seen them on the site tho. I was bummed because, I don't have any other caps that fit them either. Anyway, I heard it from the boss woman (Nachelle) herself, so I am believing it. Julie you just keep collecting those lids and send them to the rest of us the needy children....LOL
  15. Geeze those do look alike. Well they say smart minds think alike...or something like that. I think they both look great and what a good idea get change up wax.
  16. That is really a great shelve. WTG for building it. That must be very handy for you : )
  17. I also got mine off of ebay. I can't remember what I paid, but it was a lot cheaper than anywhere on the net for the same unit. Mine works great. I didn't get one with a cutter either. Good luck. If you are going to shrink wrap, a sealer makes things soooo much easier!
  18. I have to agree this is one of my favorite scents. My daughter put it in aroma beads and I hung it on my rearview mirror. The heat really made the tea come out. The tea smell doesn't seem as strong in my candles. Either way one of my favorite!
  19. That is really cool. A friend of mine has a local B & B and she has approached me several times about having some candles for people to buy their. She says people are always looking for souvieners (sp) from here, but there really isn't a place to get them. I am considereing it, but just dont' know if it is going to be a headache or not. She and seem to be on the same page about keeping it really simple. Still thinking about it.
  20. Well I do agree that Yankee's candles are inconsistent, I think they have some very good scents. I have not yet found a dupe of their Sage & Citrus that somes close and I have tried quite a few. I think they have really branched out since I just looked at one of their catalogs. But now that I make my own, I find it hard to justify buying other candles. However, now you guys have given names of some candles makes me want to try them. Scent Cellar has been telling me about Beanpod for awhile! My sister says the Salt City candles are really good, but I have never tried them.
  21. Hey Scent Cellar, I got something in my Peak's order for you too and it is very nice : ) I really like the Country Berry Hotcakes. Probably my least favorite scent group is Bakery and I usually have to warm to them. But this one, right away I went, "wow" and it really surprised me. Going to play with this one and some others in wax this weekend and let you know what the scoop is!
  22. Well I got my Peak's order in the mail today and guess what my sample was? Country Berry Hotcakes, ANOTHER NEW ONE!!! YES!!! OOB it smells really good. I don't even see it on the FO list at PEAKs. Man that is two new ones in the last few weeks. Little things make me so happy....sigh : )
  23. Someone gave this link the other day and they seem like a very nice company to deal with. I emailed them to discuss shipping. They also have shrink bags and other various bags. The website is www.shopgreatscents.com. Would be worth a shot to look at. Hope you find what you are looking for.
  24. Well I hate to tell you this, but they smoked me on my last order. I had order from them back in January I think and got my order really late, but I tried to be understanding because that was when a lot of health issues were happening. Then I placed another order on April 12th. Didn't hear anything, should have cancelled my order, but then on June 30th they charged me for my order, so I thought well they finally got to it (I didn't order anything that had to be made just some paper and bags I think). Well I still have not received the order and have never received any reponses to my emails. I have decided that I am eating this order and I will NEVER order from them again. They have had that message up or one like it for over six months now. I am willing to wait and stay with a business even if they are slow because of reasons they can't control, but when they can't even bother to respond to emails, that is maddening and poor business practice. Sorry, it got me heated again! I do hope you get your order tho.
  25. Well last saturday, I was going to go to the local fair. So I candled like a mad woman, only to find out it was cancelled. I filled all my containers that I had on hand and got my clamshells up to date. So I think I am going to play with some new scents I have coming in and just got my order for jars in yesterday, so I am good to go.
