  1. Yep, it seems anything piney or outdoorsyish seems to work. One of my male friends loves anything bakery and another one loves White Tea & Ginger....LOL
  2. Anybody tried Breakfast at Tiffany's yet? Plus I just noticed they had iced lemon danish. Anybody gave that a whirl yet? I must be behind the times....like that is a surprise....LOL. Anybody else feel like they could use about 6 more arms?
  3. Boy, I am not sure why you would be having this trouble. I wouldn't think that you should have to poke relief holes in your container candles with J50. Has the weather changed recently? Are you candles near a draftly place while cooling? Same wax, not blending with another wax? One time I (on accident) I put container wax in my votive presto pot, so I mixed them and made 4 candles before I figured it out. They didnt work very well...: ). I am not sure about the white blotches on tarts, I have had them before with votives with certain wax, but never on tarts.
  4. I think the soap looks great! I love the marbeling job. What scent is it?
  5. Oh man, I had a few that I think are so much alike if not identical, but one of them that I will always remember that smell identical to me are: Peaks Asian Sandalwood and CandleCocoon's Sunwashed Amber (I think that is what it is called). I couldn't tell one from the other.
  6. I have purchased from them before and I thought their oils were very good for the most part. They have very nice Amber Romance and Cool Water dupes. I have used their Coconut Lime Verbena which was excellent in 4794, but smelled strange in large containers (I don't know why). Daffodil field's is a nice summer scent. Bird of Paradise and Black Cherry both had a good hot throw if you like those scents. If I think of anymore I will post them.
  7. I am so impressed with your votives. I am glad to know that Peak's black work's so well since I have some of that. I too think they have a vintage look and should be absolutely perfect for the group that you described. Those really look terrific!
  8. Super job. The candles and the presentation are perfect.
  9. Those are really nice and you gave her a great price, but you have ensured a very happy customer. Really nice job with the packaging!
  10. Personally I hate to use more than one wick. I just think it is a pain in the rump. Unfortunately, on the wider containers, I have to double wick to get a good melt pool without the smoking, etc that comes from wicking too big.
  11. Thanks so much for the information gals. It helps so much to run it by and get peoples thoughts. I accidently made my teak look like newborn baby dodo.....LOL. Since it is for me, it is okay! I will try for a lighter shade of ivoryish brown next time!
  12. I just got an email confirmation from them this morning that they were going to send them out. I bet they have been overwhelmed with requests like was said earlier. I am really glad to hear that people are liking these. I would really like to be able to single wick my apothecaries....that is my big concern right now.
  13. I do the same as Michi, it works well for my 8 oz mason's that are kind of squat looking. I use labels on my bigger jars.
  14. LOL..gotta love when an accident turns out something pretty : ). Thanks for the suggestion that might just be the color I am looking for.
  15. saveonscents.com has a lot of good dupes. I have tried their Sunwashed Linen and Sage and Citrus and they both were ringers. I am pretty sure they have Christmas scents. Might be worth it to check there.
  16. Indonesia Teakwood and Magic of India? When I made up my testers with the sample scents I made one MoJ green and IT white, but that was because I couldn't think of any colors and I wanted to get it in the wax. Well I still can't think of what colors match because they really are so unique. I usually can smell a scent and know just what color I think works, but my color picker must be broke...LOL. Anybody care to share what they have done?
  17. Dang, I just requested them last week, but I didn't get a confirmation email. I am not sure if I should email them again or just wait and see. I am sure they are overwhelmed, but would like to give these a shot. Grumpy, let me know what you think about this babies!
  18. Georgia - that really looks great. I think it is a super idea and not corny at all.
  19. I use index cards and keep them in a recipe card file. It has been handy, but I have had to rewrite some of them because of messes!
  20. I use JS Ultimate Vanilla. I have tried so many Vanilla and this is the only one that I really like. It mixes will with my harmony blend and has a great hot and cold throw.
  21. Well, you are probably sick of hearing it, but I use Peak's Mango Papaya also and think it is awesome!
  22. I got a sample of JS's Cinnamon Cider and I absolutely loved it. Reminded me of apples sitting on the porch during the Fall. I was so excited. So I ordered a pound of it and it just has never smelled the same. It is still a great smell, but not the special one that the samples was. I emailed Becky and she said that nothing had changed and that nobody else had said anything. So who knows, but it just isn't the same : ( I am almost out of the pound will be interested to see what happens when I order another one.
  23. I like a lot of Becky's scents, but just like most of the Sage and Citrus I tried, it just doesn't seem right. I order it from Becky but I add my own mix to it to get what I want. I haven't tried her Asian Spice, I wonder if it is anything like Peak's Asian Sandalwood, which I really love, so I guess it doesn't. matter...LOL. I have tried the calming waters and I liked it, but it didn't go well with the testers, so I decided not to put it in my line. However, I am a big fan of Becky's Country Kitchen, Cranberry Sauce, Harvest, Ulitmate Vanilla, there are more, but I can't think if them. The Chestnut and Brown Sugar is pretty good, very strong. My testers love it, but it really isn't my first choice. I do carry it because I know that food smells are not my favorite. Rambling again...LOL
  24. Well, I found that a 51z was what ended up working the best for me. I tried CD's, HTP's, cotton's and LX's and found the the 51 z was better for me out of all of them. The wicking monster sure loves to mess with us! Good Luck : )
  25. Wow that looks so great. Very professional, great packaging. Alright Scent Cellar has been holding out on me!! Better fess up girlfriend, you never told me about This wonderful product....LOL
