  1. I love Peak's Sweet Pea. That is a favorite among ladies young and old. I make mine a light Pink.
  2. Peak's FO's are all very good quality. You shouldn't be disappointed in that.
  3. Hi Victoria, Congratulations on your upcoming visit to the US. Sounds like it will be great to go to Florida. As far as suppliers, I don't think that I know of any. In fact, I think those that live in Florida have complained for the lack of suppliers. I could be wrong. Where are all the Florida CTer's...LOL
  4. Wow, that is really cool looking. Love the mottle and the color!
  5. I am a Peak's Hazelnut coffee lover myself. It seems to be a big hit for those coffee lovers out there. I even had a request to put it in an air fresner.....lol
  6. Just poured a couple of 8 oz masons yesterday. I so want to burn them today, but after reading this post, I think I will wait. On Saturday, I poured Indonesia Teakwood and Magic of India in 4794. I poured each of them within 24 hours. I know I should have waited, but since the 4794 is not a soy wax, I figured what they hey. They both had a nice gentle hot throw. I think if I let them sit a bit longer, they will do better. I am def. happy with these scents in 4794 already. Pouring with the 70/30 was really easy and was a one pour with a nice even top like most people have been experiencing. I am experimenting with the eco wicks and the zinc wicks (definitely need more of this wax) to see what works. I know someone or two had posted that the zinc wicks had worked for them.
  7. Hi Jen - well these are the wick trimmers I use and they seem to trim just right on my zinc wicks (1/4" i think). Are you sitting the trimmer on top of the wax and then snipping. That should be right. How short are you trimming them when you do it without the trimmer?
  8. Dixy, I had the exact thing happen to me with Coconut Lime Verbena that I had from Wixnwax. The real odd thing about it was that it smells great in 4794 that I use for tarts, BUT when I burn it in container wax it smells like fish. No kidding like fish. I don't why. I want use it in my harmony wax anymore. I think it clearly responds differently in different wax. It also seemed that the bigger container the worse it was. The worst was in my 16 oz container. I know this seems strange, but I am so glad someone else has noticed the same thing.
  9. I have used wixnwax for the longest time, but I am switching over to Justscent and I am liking that was well. This scent is such a favorite. People seem to especially love it in the room freshner.
  10. I really like the idea of crayons and such or a surprise bag. I only do one show a year, so it really isn't much of a problem. However, as a mom of three, I am going to head to a booth that is more kid friendly.
  11. I have used Peak's cinnamon buns since I started making candles over a couple of years ago. It really is terrific. Peak's White Tea & Ginger is what everybody seems to like. Love Spell is also a big hit. The other one I didn't see on your list, which you might want for the future us Sweet Pea. That is a big one that is requested. I think you will be happy with the Ocean, I don't have it in my line but I keep some handy because it is requested sometimes.
  12. Those are really cool. It looks like you too some time with them. Hope your testing turns out great!
  13. I am also digging those "mistakes". Very cool : )
  14. Yep, that was what I was thinking to Angela. I have read the raves, but it has to kick bootie in candles for me.
  15. I am just testing this scent. I got mine from Saveonscents. It smells really great and the hot and cold throw kicked. My kids really like it and they said it smells like blue raspberry candy. I have never smelled the Yankee before, but this seems to be a winner.
  16. That looks really cool! The layers are so even and professional. Excellent job : )
  17. I use Peak's Sweet Pea also for two years now and it has always been a highly requested and a great seller once I started selling them. It is also great in room sprays.
  18. That's right we are just a bunch of Ho's. Dustpuppy is the only freak on the board...LOL.
  19. I agree Peaks Ocean is a great scent, but it doesn't sound like that is what she is looking for.
  20. I like the marble ones, but I think I like the square ones the best!
  21. yep, same thing here, people just don't trim. I have given as presents so many wick trimmers. I figure it is worth it. I don't know a candle that won't soot if you don't trim and I have tried nearly every wick out there (HTP, LX, CD, Cotton, you know the drill...LOL). I have to admit, I burned candels for years and years and never ever trimmed. I didn't know. It was only about a year before I started to make candles that I learned and I still didnt' have a clue about wick trimmers until this board.
  22. LOL....I still get Yankee catalogs in the mail because I love their scents. They have the best patchoulli. I haven't smelled the Cranberry Chutney yet, but you have made me want to....LOL
  23. I use a lot of Becky's scents, but there are a few that don't throw for me that seem to work for others. The same thing with Peak. A couple of my favorite scents from them oob just don't throw, but most of them really kick. We have talked a lot about sometimes the planets and the stars have to be in perfect alignment, or we have to stand on our hands while we pick our nose and chant to the candle god, to get the a great hot throw...LOL....wish I knew the secret (picking my nose is out because well that is just gross).
  24. I know what you mean too. I think we all can relate to the fear of having our significant others "cut" us off so to speak...LOL. I spent too much time today in the archives of this site and on FO sites just compiling lists of new scents I want to try. Can't wait to get my greenleaf stuff......it is so sad...LOL
  25. I am a 4630 (1945) user and have found it to give me the best results of all of the other waxes I have tried including the comfort blend. The comfort blend was just harder for me to work with all around. I use the zinc wicks with the 1945 and found that they work best for me vs the LX, CD's, and the cotton. I have not tried the HTP, but I have a sampler pack to do so, just have never gotten around to it. I think I have been using this wax for about a year or close to it. There are a few scents that I have found that it doesn't throw with as much, but very few. It truly is so easy to work with, one pour, colors great, etc. I agree with Michael that it really FO should be added when it is around 175 or 180 and poured quickly thereafter. Good luck on your search.
