They have them at www.yessupplyco.com . That's the only place I've found them. But they are a bit out of my price range right now. They come in 3 sizes I think. Very pretty jars.

Thanks for all the suggestions. They all sound great. Maybe I'll just have to try some samples of those. I wanted a red color, but the green apple might be good too. I could have 2 apples-one red and one green. I'll have to try them and pick one. Now I want a Danish. Too many good choices and never enough money! I'd get them all if I could. Thanks!

I put 'hand poured' on my lables. I have a booth at a craft mall and I think a lot of people there purchase things to re-sell. Plus, I put a lot of work into those candles so I want EVERYBODY to know that I did it. People sound suprised when I say I make them in my kitchen. Like it didn't even occur to them that could be done that way.

I need to find a new apple fo. Any suggestions? I'm not big on apple scents. I wouldn't know a good one if I found it. I think I'd go for either straight apple or spicey. For candles btw. Thanks for your help here.

Well, I won't have the Moose Poop (that cracks me up, great marketing though:smiley2: ) to worry about, but I can see that having stock already poured would speed up delivery time. Maybe having a notice posted about a potential wait time based on the size of the order would help cover any supply shortages. I'm starting to feel more comfortable with this. Taking lots of notes......

Candybee-thanks, Yeah, I think I could handle maybe 15 year round, maybe. I suppose you learn what sells and how much you need to keep on hand. What if you get an order that you can't cover? Do you just do some fast ordering and see if the customer can giver you a couple of days?

I'm hoping to get a website going eventually but I have a lot to learn yet. Here is a (probably really dumb) question~ How do you offer so many candle scents on a website? Do you actaully keep that much FO on hand for incoming orders? So much to learn...........

I think one of the most helpful things I've heard is to switch out wicks in one tester jar, rather than making 5 jars with 5 different wicks. If one doesn't work pluck it out and put in a different type of wick, then smooth out the top with a heat gun to get a fresh start. Many thanks to the pro that posted that one~ Hillary

I was having a problem with this too. I have decided for the time being to use a round label on the lid, but since I expect the lid to get tossed I'm also putting a small clear label near the bottom so they don't forget where they got it. I don't have any pic's though. No candles at home right now.:smiley2: -

Lori, I can't make up my mind either. As soon as I decide and order a case it never fails, I start liking another style more. I don't know what would be the best seller, but I'm considering things like wicking and lable placement too. Being indecisive can make things complicated, LOL. -
Bcn also has a plastic cover/liner. It may be meant for a cosmetic jar but I found that it fits perfectly inside the rim of my candle jar. I use a hole puncher to put the holes in. I let it sit right on the top of the wax and press the wick sideways so it looks nice and smooth. HTH

Those sound great. Just the kind of things I'm looking for. Mystical- it's for candles, I always forget to mention that. Wow! I have a ready made sample list from all these great suggestions. Thanks. I've looked at a lot of suppliers, but my problem is that I'm in a rut I guess. Freezin-Asian Sandlewood and Sunwashed Amber sound great too. Thanks.

I'm looking for suggestions. I'm realizing that the fo's I tend to be drawn to are all kind of similar. It's like looking in my closet and realizing I only have beige and black clothes. :undecided I am trying really hard to find some new fo's to sample and I keep reading the same descriptions over and over!!! I already know what I like but I need to expand a bit. I am trying to force myself to step out of my comfort zone here. Can you recommend either a favorite of yours, or your customers that is kind of sophisticated/complex, or exotic? Just to get me jump started? TIA

It looks like MC and ICS are in the lead on this one. Seeing as how I've never ordered from either of them I guess I'll have to take a look. I've got quite a shopping list going at this point so I'll have to try to control myself. Thanks everyone for the input.

I used Joywax with HTP wicks and had very good results. I'm not using it now but I love NG. I also asked them about the % of soy and paraffin and they wouldn't budge. Just told me the same thing as what's on the website. Honestly, I think that's one of the reason's I switched. I didn't like not knowing exactly what I was working with. But it's good. Oh, I did use 6% FO also. Never had a problem with that. HTH

Yes, I see that insurance will be a must. Hate to admit it, but I'm no risk taker. I am diligent about record keeping and organization though. I think it would have to be one messed up candle and someone with too much time and money on their hands that would actually bring on a lawsuit. But you just never know. Better safe than sorry.

I'm not even a little bit artistic, but I often find ideas and inspiration from looking at lable company websites and just other websites in general. Not copying mind you, just a little help deciding what I like and getting ideas. That's how we got our lable. Found a cool font and saw a wine lable that had a certain style, then put a twist on it, played with the colors and it fits us. Now to decide on the lable size. With a name like River Ridge I'm sure you'll come up with something great.

Robin- Here it is $150 for the LLC and $50 for sole Proprietor, that is if I read the forms right.:undecided I'm feeling better about all this. Thanks everyone for all the input. Maybe I'm not getting in over my head.

Thanks- That's the part I do get. I was just wanting to know if many others work from home and feel comfortable with working as a sole proprietor. I'm just curious as to how people set up.

Thanks for the link, I do have the paper work. I have all the forms to register the business and get my vendors license and just happened to start with the tax I.D. and that was on the form. I've never need a CPA before but maybe that will be something else to consider. I just thought I might get a better perspective after hearing from the experienced business owners. To be honest attorney fee's are just not in the budget right now. But that would definitly be the way to go.
