  1. Thank you both! I know it's going to sound crazy, but I don't color my candles so I'm not concerned about the crystalization. I really just don't like straight soy since I think it has a funny smell. I like the truer, cleaner smell the palm gives off. I just made one up using CS frosted palm and 20% EZSoy, 1 oz cranberry marmalade (CS), 16 oz container, uncolored, with a CSN 14. We'll see how it burns...tomorrow. I'm going to have a hard time waiting on this one, lol. I'll post back and let you know how it's working.
  2. Does anyone know the what the addition of soy (20% ish) would have on adding it to palm for containers? I realize I need to test it myself, but I'm just wondering if you think I would need to wick up or down because of it? I have just started testing the frosted palm and I used the recommended wicks (CSN 14's), but I'm not getting a good, clean burn really. Almost, but not quite. I thought of adding a little soy to it to soften it up. When hard, the wax seems like it could easily slide right out of my straight sided jars (and be a pillar, lol). Do you think the little bit of soy would soften it up a bit and then it would adhere to the jar better? Anyone know? Thanks!!
  3. yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Just wasn't sure if anyone else had some other clever, unique ideas. Thank you!
  4. I'm getting ready to place a sampler order with candle science of 10 different scents, so within in a couple weeks or so I will be able to let you all know how they turned out. :smiley2:
  5. Where do you all put your burning instructions, nature of the wax, what exactly is so "different" about soy/natural waxes, etc.? I have my warning label on the bottom, but I think I would like to have something explaining the wax and how it burns somewhere. What do you all do?
  6. Just in case anyone wants to know, I have found that these scents work great in container palm Blueberry Muffin from NG (awesome cold and hot throw!!!) Pumpkin Crunch Cake from NG Apple Orchard from NG Anyone else have any "works" or "doesn't work" in palm?
  7. Yes, there is definitely a crust on the top and the melt pool is larger underneath. I'm doing a second burn right now, and while there it still looks like that on the top, there is almost a full melt pool under it. I do think that eventually it will catch up (I hope). It's actually kind of cool looking since there is a small layer right now on the sides and it kind of glows from inside (much like a pillar would do I assume, I've never burned a pillar). I still LOVE this wax, and much prefer it over soy. I just like the cold and hot throw much better than I get from soy. I do not think I will wick up just yet,if at all. I'm going to burn it all the way down and see what happens. Thanks
  8. I just finished my first test burn of the Frosted Palm. I LOVE this wax, the hot throw is GREAT! I'm just not getting a full melt pool. I'm using CSN 14's, like they suggested. Maybe it will catch up? This pictures are right around the 3 hr. mark.
  9. I'm looking for a Sunflower Yank*** Type. I've seen several, but I'm not looking for the perfume dupe, I'm looking for one that smells like Yankee's. Is there even a difference?
  10. Ok, I can see them now. They look great! I also, do not like the glitter, but that's just my preference. Lots of people like glitter. Very nice!
  11. To burn my Frosted Palm container candle I made last night? I'm anxious, lol. :tiptoe:
  12. Ok, after much consideration and opinions I have decided on a label. I printed out one of each and put them on a candle, and the vote was pretty much unanimous on this one, so that's what I think I'm going with. Don't mind the unprofessional photos. :embarasse
  13. I use 18 oz. Madison jars and they have a and a 3" opening. Ooohhh, I can't wait:yay:
  14. ....for the darn UPS man to come with my CS Frosted Palm wax and CSN wicks to test:whistle: . On a side note...the CS wick guide told me to use a CSN 14 for my container. Those of you who have used that guide, do you find it to be a pretty good indicator of where to start? I ordered the CSN sampler kit, so I have several different sizes I could try.
  15. I have the Dell 3110CN and I LOVE it!! Good choice!
  16. Are you kidding me?!!! Are these really candles, lol! They are AMAZING, great job!
  17. I love you guys!!! You are always so helpful and full of great advice. I think I agree with the majority of you on number 2, but number 4 really looks nice printed out so I'm having such a hard time deciding. I tweeked it a little on the computer so now you will see more like what it prints out as. I don't know if that will change any opinions or not, but I just wanted to show you. Thanks again to everyone who has given me advice. One day I will finally decide, lol.
  18. I would love some opinions on some new labels on working on. I use the straight sided Madison jars with the silver lid and I'm going for a clean, sleek, simple modern look. Also, I don't color my wax and I print on clear labels. What one do you like better? This one, the "swirls" do not print out as white (which looks really nice). (the silver border is to match with the lid)
  19. For anyone who has experience with both of these types of containers (Apothocary and Madison Jars).... I have heard that the madison jars don't have as great a scent throw. I know they have a narrower openining, but I didn't think by much. I love the look of the Madison jars, and that's what I've been testing with, but I don't want to continue if the scent throw isn't going to be the "best".
  20. Genwax carries these, which look similar: http://www.genwax.com/candles/___0___P0798458.htm
  21. My aunt has asked me if I could make her a candle scented like Yank***'s Seaside Holiday. Does anyone know of a good dupe? Here's the description: A calming blend of ocean air, salt mist roses, beach plum, and sea grass. Only available while supplies last!
  22. I'm looking for a true apple cider scent. I've heard good things here about JS's cinn. cider and also WYW's mulled cider. Are they very different?
