  1. Has anyone tried this wax? The site doesn't really explain it much, do you know what it's made of (other than palm wax?). I'm looking for a container wax that gives that crystal/feathered appearance to try out. Does anyone have any good recommendations? Thank!
  2. If a certain scent works well in soy (I use EZ SOY) from Natures Garden? I don't see where it says anywhere.
  3. :embarasse Pardon my ignorance...is C-3 wax similar to EZ Soy? And does it really matter, would my results be different?
  4. Does anyone have any experience with these FO's from Just Scent in soy wax? Do they work well? I know I need to test myself, but I just figured I'd check with you all before I place a sampler order (just trying to save a little $:rolleyes2 ) Chestnuts and brown sugar nanas apple butter Becky's ultimate vanilla Hyacinth chula orchid jamaican me crazy coconut lime verb. mojito cocktail captivatingly currant Thanks!
  5. Do any of you know of any close jar suppliers to the New England (USA) area? I'm trying hard to cut down on shipping costs Thanks!
  6. What about ECO wicks? I have used them before, when I first started. I was making jelly jars at the time. I liked them. Maybe I'll try them.
  7. Ok, thank you! It's actually 3 1/4" :embarasse . Can a single wick still give it a full melt pool?
  8. What makes a base tear free? Are there any out there? Thanks!!
  9. Thank you sooo much for the reviews! I currently use only BCN fo's (which I love and I have not had any problems at ALL with throw in soy) but there are some scents from JS that sound really "yummy". So, when you go to the JS website, it will tell you how it works in soy....is that usually true? Or have you found that it will say it works in soy, but it really doesn't?
  10. I agree with the above post, I've never had a problem with hot or cold throw in my EZSOY. It's one of my strongest scents.
  11. I'm getting ready to put in a sampler order to Just Scent. I'm DYING to try some in my EZSOY and I would love opinions on the ones I've chosen to start testing with. Also, if I've missed any "must haves" please let me know. Ok, here's what I've picked... 12. Ok, so for those of you who make and sell them, how do you deal with that when customers ask. I'd really like to start making/selling some but I don't think people would buy them if they loose their scent after a few times warming them.
  13. Do wickless candles (like the ones done in the tins) loose their scent over time? I've never made or tried any:embarasse
  14. They aren't 11 oz, but 14 oz. No lids either, but people don't seem to mind. http://www.genwax.com/candles/___0___P0798903.htm
  15. What scents from JS ROCK in EZSOY? What is a "must"? Thanks!!
  16. I'm new to candlemaking and I have a wicking question that I hope someone could help me with. I'm using the big Madison Jars from YES candle supply and I'm so close to getting them just right, but I need some advice from all you experts. I use EZ SOY, RRD wicks (currently using RRD34), double wicking, no color and 1 oz. fo pp of wax. I'm finding that I get a good burn, but I'm concerned that maybe it is burning too hot. I think it burns quicker than it's supposed to and when it gets to the bottom of the candle the jar gets pretty hot with a little soot on the top of the jar. Does it sound like the wick is too hot? Should I go down to the next lowest size in RRD, should I single wick or should I change wicks altogether? Thanks for all your help!!!
  17. I've read many mixed reviews on JS and how they throw in candles. What about in B&B products? The descriptions sound SOOOO good (of course they do, that's how the get sold ), but do they work well in lotions, gel body washes, and body butters? Thanks for any and all reviews!
  18. Duh, I forgot that part :rolleyes2 I use EZ soy, 1 oz fo per lb of wax and I don't color them.
  19. My first choice in jars was a frosted tumbler. I bought some, got it wicked right, but now I can't find any lids. The lids I thought would work, don't. So, I'm going with an easy to find jar that comes with a lid. I'm using a 16 oz. apoth. jar with a silver lid (from the Jar Store) and I bought a sampler pack of RRD wicks b/c I have heard good things about them. I know I have to test on my own, but I'm thinking of starting with two RRD34's. If you were to double wick this jar, would you start with that? Or something else? Thanks!!
  20. Nevermind, actually I found it. I just had to do a search. :rolleyes2
  21. Ok, call me a "newbie", but could you post a link to KY? Thanks!
  22. If you were to buy a premade base for this, which would you recommend? TIA!
  23. Candle Man, that's exactly what I'm concerned about so I'll have to rethink the label thing I guess. I think I can make everything else unique enough so my products do not look like theirs. My products are not really like theirs anyway, I have different scents and different kinds of products, but the whole "idea" is the same with the target being the tween-teen crowd. But you are right, I should be concerned about what they would think.
  24. Thanks for the encouragement. I still think I'm just going to go with what I had planned and I'm sure along the lines I'll think of things that I can do different than the other company....which happens to be the "Real Beauty" line by American Girl. Plus, like my friend told me yesterday, not EVERYONE knows about the Real Beauty line (like me :rolleyes2 ) so if my product is out there in-their-face, then they will think it's a unique product . So, I guess I'll just keep chugging along and stick to my plan and see where it takes me!
