  1. I thought 18 hrs would be long enough. I was thinking about the way it behaves with wax paper tho. There was a partial gel:rolleyes2 I guess 100% OO would have to stay in there a month ot two:laugh2:
  2. I guess I should have clarified that a bit:grin2: Yep, it's sticking to my soap when I peel it off. That formula has about 40% OO. I thought maybe it was the shea butter or I had unmolded it too soon:rolleyes2 um I was a tad bit anxious.. it was my first time using it. I really hated having to polish that rough soap. Are there any other oils besides OO that will need a longer time in the mold? Thanks everybody:grin2:
  3. I finally got around to cutting and using mylar to line my molds and, it pealed off but it was sticky. I am thinking of coating the pieces with mineral oil.. any suggestions:confused:
  4. I really like this one! deep and bold colors:drool: :highfive: sooo I can layer and swirl and won't have to really use a lot of color?..LOL ...I am so trying my best to leave the colors to all of you color loving soapers :tiptoe:
  5. :laugh2: uh I know that feeling:laugh2: oh and who sent you a pic of me for your avatar?...either my eyes have finally gone or my twin posed for that:grin2:
  6. Can someone please tell me if any of these colors bleed? I really do need a reason not to buy them..LOL
  7. I sure have. But I don't use sunflower oil in laundry soap anymore. I've experimented with so many oils:rolleyes2 and I don't have my notes so I'm not exactly sure which ones I settled on:confused: More than likely the least expensive ones I could find:grin2:
  8. Where did you get that mold and do you have any problems with it? Also, do any of these pop colors bleed? I feel myself slipping.....arrrrgh:(
  9. Hmm the powdered version I've never tried. That will surely eliminate the snot..LOL I learned to make LS here, http://candleandsoap.about.com/od/liquidsoap/ss/basicliquidsoap.htm It's really not complicated. I do believe that candlepastore used the same formula in her class. Let me know how it goes:yay:
  10. Very nice! I'm not going to come back to the gallery until all of you shut up about these freakin POP colors!...ya know I don't like messing with colors..but..umm... these prettyful colors are making me want to playyyy:(
  11. aww man, I gotta make my sugar cookie some of those! They are very cute. I think my sugar cookie migh want to eat them.
  12. I wouldn't even bother making soap for this. It will turn out to be slimy snot regardless of what formula you use. I made this before I learned to make LS. I purchased a couple bars of fels naptha and a couple bars of some pink laundry soap. I grated it and I added all the other ingredients you have listed and made a big ol pail of snot! :laugh2: I didn't use a preservative and the clothes were clean. I just don't like that slimy snotty texture. But, I sure hope you like it.
  13. Noooo, see what you've done? You may have confused all the newbies. ....ya know newbies have no common sense and they don't Ahhh wth don't fool around with them! go make some soap so you will know what you're Talking about. Shhhh, If that ain't the blind leading the blind:rolleyes2 You will lead all the noobs into a ditch! 'Cause, I ATS! :tiptoe: :tiptoe:
  14. Thanks, I will look into those. I just need Pheromone. I didn't expect to find QF, but I think RA/TF has Pheromone. And of course their site is being updated:cheesy2:
  15. My sis has asked me to find a dupe of Chanel #5 & Pheromone. So, who has the dead on dupes of these two? I doubt I will find Quelques Fleur, But it is one of my favorite fragrances, sooo any help with that would be great:D TIA -Hibiscus
  16. Sequestering is done before you neutralize or add the fo/eo. Once you neutralize and add fo, the soap won't get any clearer. In most cases when you add the fo, it will become cloudy, temporarily. I've only had this happen once and that was with my first batch. I think it was because I neutralized with boric acid and added the fo while the soap was warm. I always add my fo/eo and neutralizing soultion to RT soap, and never have any problems. Perhaps I just happen to choose well behaved fragrances and eo's:undecided HTH
  17. Those are beautiful! reminds me of drawing circles in the sand:)
  18. So it's only a problem with those who are allergic to oats but it is wonderful for those who aren't? I know someone who had terrible eczema as a child and everything that touched his skin was irritating in one form or another. :undecided
  19. Everclear makes really nice cologne. If you can't find it, try perfumers alcohol. I really don't think cyclo will give you what you want. With Everclear you would allow it to age for a few weeks...the longer the stronger:2cents:
  20. After posting that comment I was forced to take a closer look at those little packages and realized I could actually do it without any mess. I don't scent my lotion so pumping it straight from the gallon would be easy. I must have had a million things on my mind when I played with those bags. I still like the bottles for LS. In addition to soaping, guess what else I'll be doing this weekend:) :tiptoe:
  21. yeah I know. Rosehip oil is beautiful in soap and other B&B stuff. Pumpkin seed has some of the same qualities as carrot oil except the color is brown/green. All of the oils(except coconut) used in this experiment are usually reserved for other B&B products. It wasn't my intention to just break a few rules but to develop enough of a product for my own personal tests. I wanted the ultimate facial bar. As it turned out I learned lots of neat stuff along the way. I am also super frugal:) so this is really great for me:yay: This has been a lot of fun and hopefully will be of use to someone. I've got 3 little batches curing and now it's back to the Big Guys:rolleyes2 Happy Soaping:tongue2:
  22. I've got some unsweetened organic soy milk that I plan to soap this weekend. I am thinking of replacing my gm with soy milk if it turns out ok. I will let you know how it turns out.
  23. I wouldn't get anything out of that..literally. I think it's safe to say it can be done. But, your welcome to take this to a soap ball if you want:rockon:
  24. Ahh is see. I've never heard it called that before. I use the EO and the aroma takes some getting used to, it's quite earthy. I've used it in hair products and lotions as well as soap. :smiley2: I experiment with extracts ( I make my own) as well as oils for natural colorants.
