  1. Your palm tree embed looks great. Nice job.
  2. Picture worked. Nice color.
  3. Peaks sells HTP which are similar to CDs. Did you try Lonestar to see if they carry them? Don't know of any other supplier in TX. I use PA suppliers (Candlewic and Candles and Supplies). Be sure to start with a sample pack.
  4. Another beauty E. Love the scent description. Wonder if you have to be a creative writing grad to write those things. From the description it must smell wonderful.
  5. Like I said earlier in this post, I used a small spoon to squish the edges befoe the wax had completely set up - guess I waited about 15 minutes. Gave it another 1/2 hr, hit them with a heat gun and poured the next layer. Trsih (Scented) came up with this technique.
  6. Jim, not sure how much help this will be but I would recommend going with the digital thermometer and forgetting the others. If you are getting that much variation between thermometers you really don't have a consistent pour temp. And I would recommend trying Peaks FOs. They have the best hot and cold scent throw that I have found. You can get a sample pack and compare Peaks to what you are currently using. you didn;t say how much FO you are adding pp. Maybe you need to up it to a 6% load (1 oz pp) if you are usinf less. Do you add vybar? Too much vybar can binds you FO to the wax and reduce the scent throw. If you are using vybar try a batch of candles without it and see if that helps. And you know if you make any changes you need to retest right??
  7. I know it is hard to pull up stakes and relocate but you'll have opportunities at your new location as well. Best case would be to find someone else at the market to carry your products. Be sure to factor in the cost of shipping your products back to the old market when you run the numbers.
  8. Good luck in your new job. And good luck with your candles.
  9. Not bad for your 1st one. I've only tried this technique in votives and hurricanes and know what a challenge it is. I found using a white dye block works too for those that don;t and titanium dioxide.
  10. Love the baskets. Don't know what Bamboo Sugar Cane smells like but love the name. Your Mom is very talented. As far as I know this gallery is like the old one. 1 pic per post. Be sure to click on the upload button after selecting your picture.
  11. Both looks great. Fantastic job.
  12. If I ever graduate to pillars, I hope to be able to make one half as nice. Love the color and texture. Looks just perfect to me. Another one to add to my pillar dream notebook.
  13. I've been using the glue gun while testing my containers. Like Holly I'd occasionally notice some drifting of the wick. Just got a sheet of stickems and put them in some test containers today. After reading these posts sounds like I may have to invest in a bunch more stickems.
  14. I missed the sherberts. I do like the one in the middle.
  15. I've been making picture hurricanes for about a year now. Usually I have at least one do over. The wax gremlins must be wore out from the heat or they are focusing on the gels which all flopped this week. Learning something new sure is tough. I had no idea gels would be so challenging. LOL Should have realized anything related to candlemaking is a challenge.
  16. You are really on a roll with those rustic layers. Great colors and a fantastic scent.
  17. Those look great. Haven't tried cinnamon buns yet. Yours are definitely good enough to eat. And all I have to munch on is grapes.
  18. Since I'm still trying to figure out wicking, I've been burning one tester the right way then a 2nd doing marathon burns. Burn both to the very end. I've found nasty things can happen in that last inch of burn. But I've only been playing with wicks for 6 months. Sure wish wickless candles would catch on more out here. Then life would be so much easier.
  19. Whoops, you have me on the list twice. No. 8 and 19.
  20. Since I've only done 1 votive swap I want to confirm that they don't all have to be the same scent right. Also that we should include our CT ID, wax, scent, and wick on the label.
  21. All I've found at WalMart and Michaels is the printed water slide decals. Wal Mart did have several nice ones. I bought the clear water slide decal paper for ink jet printers from http://www.decal-paper.com/ They also sell 10 sheets. I did OK making short borders for my hurricanes but had a dickens of a time trying to do the entire picture. Could be that I'm just not coordinated to manipulate a decal that big (5" x 6"). I sold a couple of sheets to Tallbabydoll. She put them on a glass container for her daughter's wedding. Looked good. How did you want to use them?
  22. Love your colors. I hadn't thought to mix Storm Watch and Rain. Both are favorite scents of mine. Now you have inspired me but I'm out of Storm Watch. Trying to hold off buying until the East coast co-op.
  23. Thanks for the kind comments. For some reason these seem to be really working for me this week. No do-overs which is a miracle. Must be the unbearable heat.
  24. Boys do those colors match the scent. Great job on the rustic layers. From your description thats another scent I want to try.
