  1. I only do HP, so when I add anything powdered, I save back some of the water from the batch and make a "slurry" with the powder and add it after the cook. Powdered goatsmilk is wonderful in soap. HTH. Dorothy
  2. I just got a bottle in of the Japanese Cherry from Just Scents. It smells great out of bottle, but haven't had time to try it in anything. Dorothy
  3. Very pretty. Good job swirling, esp. with cphp. Dorothy
  4. I can't say enough good things about Becky at JustScent. I placed an order Monday and Fed-ex just brought my box. I have ordered from her numerous times and the service is always great. Some of the fragrances I really liked just sniffing out of the bottle were lavender-bergamot, japanese cherry, celestial waters, cherish, and rosemary mint. I also was looking for a good grapefruit and her pink grapefruit and grapefruit vanilla twist are both wonderful. I just placed an order for some of the larger bottles. I am only a hobbyist, somebody is going to have to stop me!! Dorothy
  5. I really like it, it is cool!! Dorothy
  6. You know, that is an idea I had not thought of. My husband used to travel a lot in his job, so I have a lot of those in a box in the basement. Of course, I suppose you could grate them up and maybe use them in a laundry soap, maybe like the Fels Naptha??? Dorothy
  7. I made these last night and all I can say is they are awesome!! Yes Bunnie is right, a little goes a long way. My skin feels wonderful this morning. I made others from a slightly different recipe I found somewhere, they are nice, but these are fantastic. Thanks Bunnie. Dorothy
  8. Some time back I read a discussion of this on another board. The general thought was the whole fat milk was good to use in soap, the non-fat was good for other things such as bath bombs, melts, bath milks, etc. I can get the whole milk powder at wal-mart( they just went up on the price), but am considering using the non-fat for my b&b and save the whole milk powder for soap. Seems the whole milk is used in soap for the fat content and the non-fat in bb&b for the protein. I am certainly not an expert on that! Just repeating what I heard elsewhere!:smiley2: Dorothy
  9. I got an e-mail from someone (deleted it and now can't remember who it was) and they had what they referred to as "soap grade" shea butter for 1.50 a pound. Said it was 2005 inventory. As the price struck me as one of those too good to be true things, I just deleted the e-mail. I just assumed it was maybe older shea butter and they thought it would be good to use in soap???? Wish now I had paid attention to which company it was from. Dorothy
  10. Those are beautiful. I really like the mold. Dorothy
  11. Love those bath melts!! I make some that are similar to this recipe, I think I may have to try this one soon. I use the mini muffin silicone molds that I got at Walmart. They just pop right out. Dorothy
  12. Very pretty. Cucumber Melon is one of my favorite scents. Dorothy
  13. I have used the base from WSP (been a while) and it was fine. I actually made wedding favor soaps for my son last year and used the WSP base. It turned out great. Dorothy
  14. I have used fabric to make a band around the soap that I give as gifts. I just used some of the fabric glue to glue the ends together. Worked great. Dorothy
  15. I got a sample of Justscents Muscadine and it smelled more like a grape soda, the kind I used to drink as a child. Dorothy
  16. Her Lovespell is very strong. I make soap and candle melts with it. I don't sell, this is just for our use and my daughter and I love it. Also the Hyacinth,Chula,Orhcid is strong. Dorothy
