If he's happy, then fine, but I'd get it in writing, just to CYA. I wouldn't give him anything from the sales, though. The publicity is his payment. Your labor and expense makes the product and unless you can comfortably raise the price say, 10%, then print on the label that 10% goes to support the thing, he should be happy with the publicity. He's getting greedy, me thinks.

I would immediately stop using someone's logo on a product sold elsewhere. Presumably, it's a copyrighted logo and unless you have written permission to use it, you could face heavy penalties. It's your product and you're the one putting the label on. Now if you stuck your personal label on the product and the shop put up a sign saying a percentage of their profits support such and such an organization, that's their thing. Doing private labeling for the actual foundation is fine, but essentially, you're profiting by using a private label that isn't yours to use. Unless I'm missing something, that's the way I see it.

Well, I did find the Christmas doggie fabric at a place where I occasionally order, but retail, not wholesale. I'll wait 'til they have free shipping, which they do every 3 months or so. I hate to pay retail, but that's what I get for dwaddling. This isn't the full panel, but it's enough to see how cute they are:

I've thought about promoting them as pet blankets, but I'm not sure who would be willing to pay the "hand quilted" price. I might "machine quilt" one and see how it looks and how much labor costs it saves. If I could get my hands on the Loralie Christmas doggies fabric, I would definitely try that. People spend as much on Christmas presents for their pets as they do for their kids. Back when I had a bunch of dogs, they all had large hand knitted pillow cases with their name embedded in the center. I would knit their call name into one side and their registered name on the other. I didn't make them for anyone else, though. Just my own dogs.

I sell them in my shop. I've only sold a couple but I didn't start making them 'til after Christmas, so hopefully, they'll sell better at the beginning of fall/winter.

I like to make fleece-backed throws, approximately 36" x 60", no batting. Loralie Harris designs the cutest fabric perfect for the throws. This is her latest design. I'll hand quilt around each square, with some solid black all around it like a border. She's done a couple of kitty designs, which I've used, but the only doggie one she's done before was Christmas doggies, and I stupidly didn't buy it when it was available. I was happy to see she'd done another doggie one.

You're really going to have to do more than one burn to know. It's usually takes 2 or 3 burns to catch up. And if you add more dye, it will change the composition, thus possibly changing the burn.

I just got a brilliant idea that would probably increase sales. I think I'll make a big ol' sign for my shop stating that I no longer accept credit cards because merchant services are now disallowing purchases of guns and ammo. And since I don't do business with anybody who tramples on my constitution, I've elected to not do credit card business anymore. People would rush to my store to show their support.

I couldn't care less what their sorry excuse is. Guns and ammo are neither illegal nor nefarious. What's next? Pressure cookers? Of course it's political. Everything is political in one form or another. That said, Paypal and Square are private entities and can do as they wish. So can I.

eI go through this cc thing about every 6 months. So far, I've resisted. We don't have wifi where my shop is and I don't have and WON'T have a smart/android phone. With Propay, you can punch the credit card number in on a regular cell phone and get instant authorization. I think they say the money is in your account within 24-48 hours. I need to investigate it a bit further. It costs something like $49 year (far better than $100 a month to have a stupid smart phone), plus, as I recall, the swipe fees are in line with everyone else. It will be over my dead body I pay even $50 a month for phone service. I despise talking on the phone and despise even more people who walk around with phones stuck in their ears. I seriously want to slap their empty heads off. But that's a rant for another day. lolol

Same here. I've tried maybe 4 or 5 others, never from TSW, because once someone recommended Tony's, I tried it and had no need to stray. Considering TSW is primarily geared toward body, not candles, and considering that for me, a lot of TSW just plain doesn't seem to work in candles, it wasn't even something I considered trying.

SGS Dragon's Blood is one of the best scents, EVAR! Hands down. With 4627, I used the same % because I like them strong. It has a depth to it that I would be afraid watering down would ruin. Dang the cost.....it really is worth the price Bite me. If you want to unload it, you know where I live!!!

Exactly. I think I've told this story before: Years ago I was doing a craft show and had a dozen SOTB candles. A very elderly lady came along, spotted the 2 or 3 I had on display, and started giggling like a 12 year old. She was talkative and told me more than I wanted to know about how the name brought back memories. She ended up buying all I had and said she wasn't even going to burn them. She wanted to place them around her home for memories and to shock her friends. Yep. Customers will generally smell a candle with a racy name or unusual name, just out of curiosity.

Same with Sex on the Beach. All three are fruity. Names are everything. Give them their rightful names. If they don't sell, rename them. What works in your market could be 100% different from what works in mine. For awhile, I called one of them (I can't even remember which one) Fruit Basket. I used Fruit Basket from October through Christmas, when gifting of fruit baskets is popular for people who don't know what gift to give. It's just that simple.

OK.....this is just my opinion. I prefer the Red Heart Sashay yarn over the Starbella. It's a tiny bit harder to work with in that the yarn is fluffier and the loops at the top where you stick your needle aren't as clearly defined. Plus with the Red Heart, you stick your needle in every other loop. The Starbella loops are bigger so you use every one. Since the Starbella loops are a bit bigger and the yarn isn't as fluffy, it's easier to work with but once you get going on the Red Heart, it's easy enough. The fluffiness of the Red Heart makes for a scarf that hangs better, imo. And Red Heart is cheaper. Win-Win! You can either knit or crochet the scarves. There are several youtube videos for both ways. I do the knitting, but it's knitting only in that it calls for the actual 'knit' stitch. It's just a single, easy stitch, and isn't at all what you would think of when knitting something like a sweater with multiple stitches. In one of the threads here, someone posted a picture of a scarf she had crocheted. I don't think there much different in the way the end result looks. For someone who prefers crocheting, I would think it would be just as easy. I do both but I much prefer knitting over crocheting, so I've never even looked at the crochet videos.
