  1. If you don’t want to print them yourself. What about having a company print them with your company name on the front, that way you could order bulk quantity of that one hang tag. Then do your sticker idea for the back to designate your fragrance.

Oh, that’s what you said the first time! Lol!!!!

I first read it like that’s all you were going to do...put a sticker on a hang tag. But I see now you said on the back!

I haven't tried my new printer, but my old printer was always off center when I printed labels

Mine too!  I spent many an hour shifting things around and printing until it came out right. On the screen it looks way off but they print correctly!

Now, when I create a new label, I open up an old one that is calibrated correctly and re save as the new label.

It’s only a hassle now when I am working with a new label- new dimensions.

  3. Onlinelabels.com has cardstock tags so you could print your own as needed. I’m sure other label companies have them as well but I order from them because they have a great price, fast shipping, always send coupons. And you get use of their printing program if you don’t have one you use already.

I think printed would would look better than putting a sticker on a hang tag.

  4. You would technically be under the same guidelines as a full time candle business and would need all the licenses and permits the state requires.

Candybee just responded and I didn’t think about the hobby aspect. If this is a one off thing, that may be an option to get you around having to register a business.

Of course, that wouldn’t get you around liability issues if someone were looking to sue.

Thanks for responding! I also like spa like scents. I’m more a clean/fresh scent type of person but I would like to have a variety. I will definitely be doing a lot of testing with different scent. I think I’m going to start with a fresh, floral, bakery/sweet, and something masculine and go from there.

If you’re interested in ordering from Candle Science, they have some good spa/clean scents. I highly recommend Black Sea, Blood Orange, Coconut Bamboo, Peppermint Eucalyptus, and Caribbean Teakwood.

  6. Really depends on what type of scents you like. You’ll be testing a lot, so might as well get scents you won’t mind smelling all the time!  I really like spa and aquatic fragrances, so I have more of those than anything else. Some people have tons of florals, others have a lot of bakery scents, and still others have more exotic/ masculine scents.

But, generally speaking, I would say Vanilla, Apple, and Cinnamon are good starter scents.

They are generally crowd pleasing and good selling scents.

  7. I will be adding candles to my next event in August and trying to figure out which scents I want to bring with me.

Is it too early to have fall scents?

I have plenty of variety to take with me, I’m just wondering if people will be ready to shop for those type of scents or if I can/should save those for the Sept-Oct events.

  8. You may be able to find that info on Ecosoya’s website. I think, generally speaking, it’s usually 1-2 years if kept in optimal conditions. And that’s a ‘best buy’ date more than an expiration date. So, the wax may still make a good or decent candle but not as good as when it was within that 1-2 year time frame.

I also have some old PB wax but mine has been opened. It is probably....7-8 years old!

it's one of those dream vessels glasses.  They're my go- to tester containers lately. Easy to wick 3" diameter. They're almost indestructible- I've dropped a few.  And they're colored glass, not sprayed, so they hold up well to washing and re-use. And they have lids.  Very handy.

What color is it? The black frost?
