    Soy drops

@TallTayl thank you! I thought about putting them in tins, but I was concerned about the oil reacting with the metal. I'm going to try it out just as soon as these guys are done marinating! 😁

RE: putting the scented salts in warmers, do you mean an oil warmer or a wax warmer? Is it safe to assume that I could put a glass jar of scented salts on a candle warmer?
  3. Who is everyone's favourite go - to vendor for fragrance oils? I have been using Lonestar, Candlewic and Candles and Supplies. I'm happy with what I have found but I'm wondering if there are some better/equally as good ones out there. Thanks!

    Golden Wax 416

I did a little trial run of it last night. Meh. It frosted about the same as the C3, which I can live with but it cracked and cratered which C3 doesn't do for me. Disappointing but I'll try again at a lower pour temp.

    Golden Wax 416

Thanks, Moonshine! That's a bummer on the frosting I was hoping it'd be an improvement on my C3.

    Golden Wax 416

I just found out about this wax and ordered some from Lonestar. Has anyone else used it? Any idea on cure time and much it frosts?
  7. I also store mine closed as soon as they are solid.
  8. @TallTayl you are spot on. This one gets so hot, I can barely touch it. I'm using little generic tealight candles from Ikea, so I'm assuming they are paraffin.
  9. I experimented with it yesterday. The Hot Apple Pie from Candlewic and the Strawberry from Candles and Supplies both smoked in the tealight burner when I only had one cube in it. When I added an additional cube, it stopped. I think the melt pool was too low, therefore getting too hot. ?? When I added more wax, I didn't see it anymore. I did try to get a temp reading on it, and it didn't get past 145F. I didn't see the "smoking" issue in the exact same scents on my electric plate warmer, so it's gotta be the tealight burner with minimal wax combo.
  10. Thank you for the information! It makes me feel better that it is not just me
  11. Moonstar - do you remember what type of wax was in the melts that did this? or if it was a particular scent?
  12. @Sarah S no, it isn't too cold (68F). I'm thinking it has something to do with it being a tealight burner, like @Moonstar suggested. Now I'm watching the burner and my electric warmer obsessively
  13. Hi all - testing some tarts and I saw what looked like steam or white "smoke" coming from the tealight burner (from Yank** - I got it on sale for $5 to test my melts) I was using. The wax is C3 and the FO was Strawberry from C and S. What is this? In the same burner, I was testing an Apple Pie tart, and got this weird discoloration in the exact same spot over and over after I tried "scooping" it out. This only happened with the Apple Pie. Maybe cinnamon in it burning off?
  14. Thank all of you for the feedback! I guess my biggest concern is the frosting I am getting from my darker colors and the worry that it will turn people off.
  15. I know Target carries them but they are kind of pricey. I'm looking for one, as well, to test my wickless jars on.
  16. Does anyone have some insight on dyed versus undyed melts re: what appeals to buyers more? I've gotten mixed feedback from my human testers and I'm not sure if I should go with a natural look or a rainbow of wax 🙂 tyia
  17. TT, I have about had it with C3 and would like to try 444 or 464. What made you pick 444?
  18. Has anyone tried blending the Candlewic coconut apricot with C3? Any success?
  19. @TallTayl how long do you cure a coconut wax candle? And do you have a preferred vendor? It looks like Northwood has coconut and Candlewic carries a coconut-apricot blend.
  20. I'm also using C3 in tins, now testing wood wicks. Anyone have success with wood wicks? I'm going to try the CDs, as well, based on these posts.
  21. Can I ask what it is about the wax that has changed? I started making candles 2 years ago and didn't really have any wick issues, took time off to have a baby and now I am back in the swing and I can't for the life of me find a wick that doesn't flicker and bounce. I'm using C3 and FO from Candlewic. I typically use 1oz of FO to 1-1.5 lbs of wax. I gave up on trying to wick the 7.75oz frosted tumblers I loved so much and have been sticking to 4oz and 8oz tins. I've tried HTP (93, 104, 105, 1212), RRD (34, 47, 55), CDN (8, 10) wicks and keep sizing down and down and STILL get a least some bouncing/flickering when I test. HT and CT are both great, MP seems appropriate, although doesn't always go wall-to-wall in the appropriate amount of time (as in it takes much longer than it should). Really tired of seeing this bouncing flame Any thoughts? Anyone having the same problem? Thoughts on wood wicks? Is a certain amount of flickering/bouncing ok as long as it isn't constant?
