  1. Hi Tara, As you know I also use GL 70/30 and just finished testing a sample slab of the TN 70/30 (shipping is much cheaper for me also from them since I live in NC). So far this wax is performing exactly the same as the GL 70/30, using the same wicks in my 8 oz. square mason and have not had to change anything. Colors beautifully, burns the same and H/C throw exactly the same. Getting ready to order a case since it is on sale till the 19th. to test with. Afraid GL is just getting to high with the shipping I have to pay. Shipping is 1/2 the cost for me from TCS. I use mostly CDN's and also HTP 105 wicks. A few FO's I use Eco's with, but mostly CDN's and HTP 105. Tested so far with the TN 70/30 in 8 oz. square mason: (Just testing FO's I currently use to compare) Satsuma (AH/RE) ECO 8 (same as GL 70/30) Carmel Cinn. Latte (JS) CDN 14 (same as GL 70/30) Butt Naked (GL) ECO 8 (same) Strawberry Musk (GL) CDN 16 (same) Downy Vanilla Lavender (NG) CDN 14 (same) Vanilla Crunch (AH/RE) CDN 14 (same) Pink Sugar (Peaks) CDN 14 (same) Sweet Pea and Me (MC) CDN 14 (same) Green Tea and Cucumber (GL) HTP 105 Their IS a difference in the way CDN and CD wicks burn. I MUCH prefer the CDN wicks (I only use the ones from SB: by the way Almond Biscotti and Heavenly Cinnabun from them is awesome in GL 70/30 just started burning in TN 70/30 and is exactly the same). CDN 14 with both. Still more to test, but so far no difference between the two. I live in the south, so my wick sizes may be one size too small for ones who live in colder climates, I tend to wick a little on the low side, but my jars are clean at the bottom with no to very little soot. I also use C3 (am currently playing with 464) from CS for my soy only line (colorless): but love the 70/30 for my colored candles. Really think you should give it a try. HAPPY TESTING!!!
  2. Hi, Oakmoss sounds GREAT!! Is this in GL 70/30? Never tried OT's oils before, any other good ones to try in the 70/30 while I'm ordering? Thanks
  3. Like Bolek's CLV in C-3 wax, great H/C throw at 1 oz pp.
  4. Honey Graham Cracker: Did not wick up on , I am using an ECO6 in 8 oz. square mason (smallest I use in this jar so far) and it has an awesome throw at 1 oz. pp, this is one of my favorites, I keep it in stock at all times for me!! Sarsen: Was just to weak of a throw for me so stopped testing. Strawberry Musk: after much testing, found that a CDN16 worked perfect in the 8oz. square mason at 1 oz pp. great throw. So I did go up on this one. All in GL 70/30 (I do live in the south so I seem to use one size smaller wick than some) Not tried the others.
  5. Indonesian Teak and Maduro are Great mixed together!!
  6. I really like Indonesian Teak and it throws great in 70/30 (have not tested in C-3 yet). I color it a light brown. I have several male customers who love this one also.
  7. Gardenia Petals (could not keep this poured fast enough for Christmas) Strawberry Musk Ind. Teak (throws strong in 70/30) Maduro (sells great) Butt Naked Leather-N-Lace Honey Graham Cracker Green Tea and Cucumber Fig Dolce Sarsen (nice but not strong enough for me) Fig Dolce (nice and unique) Violet Musk
  8. You may want to try HTP105, it is a little hotter than CD14 but not quite as hot as CD16, that is the wick I move up to in this jar (GL 70/30 wax) if CDN14 or ECO6 is a little too small but CDN16 or ECO8 is too big.
  9. BCN's Cinnaberry is great in GL 70/30
  10. I use GL 70/30 and these throw great: Mistletoe Jack Frost Hansel and Gretel's House Apple Jack and Peel Cranberry Marmalade Creme Brulee
  11. Like Pumpkin Crunch Cake (NG) using 70/30 also. Have Pumpkin Fudge but not in wax yet. Pumpkin Pie Spice from GL is also very good. Hard for me to choose too, not being very much help. :undecided I am going to go with Pumpkin Crunch Cake for sure and one more. Planned on trying the Pumpkin Cheesecake and glad to know it throws in 70/30. :smiley2:
  12. No throw for me either in GL 70/30. Candlescience's Creme Brulee is awesome in 70/30, very similar to Peaks OOB Tristate is also very good in 70/30. Both at 1 oz. pp. Candlescience is a little richer.
  13. I am using ECO 6, HTP 105, and ECO 8 in the 8 oz. square mason jars. Just started testing the 16 oz. apoth. and looks like I will be double wicking with either LX12's, LX14's or LX16's depending on FO. Now for my dilemma, I have a list of around 40 FO's that are NOT working for me based on MY criteria that the FO has a decent throw at 1 oz. PP with no more than 3 days of curing. I am hesitate to post it because some of them MAY work with a longer cure time or using 1.5 oz pp. Still debating on that one.
  14. Another update: 8/11/06 Aroma Haven/RE: Forget Me Not: (this one is EXCELLENT!!) Monkey Farts: selling great right now Flannel Sheets: very clean scent Candlescience: Mistletoe: super strong Creme Brulee: Excellent!! Had my testers compare this one to Tristate (which is also great in 70/30; and they all picked Candlescience Creme Brulee as the best one, said it was "richer" than Tristate. I love them both but will go with Candlescience. Cajun: Baby Powder: this is EXCELLENT!!, will not test any others Again these are all in GL 70/30 @ 1 oz. PP This is a GREAT wax and I know a lot of you are trying it and it can get very expensive testing FO's and then have them not throw. Hope this info will help those testing with this wax.
  15. Just got an email back from Peaks (was also wondering where they went) Jamacica Me Crazy will be back end of this week or sometime next week, just restocking.
  16. Update on FO"S tested in GL 70/30: JS Katie Jo's Pink Lemonade- strong (really like this one) Passionate Purple-strong Muscadine-strong Peaks: Lemon Pound Cake- strong Ocean- med. strong (only cured 48 hrs. may get stronger) Candlescience: Apple Jack and Peel- strong Cranberry Marmalade- strong Hansel and Gretel's House- strong (love this one also)
  17. Hi CC, The Classic jar is about 2 and 3/4" in diameter and I only use 1 oz pp FO (6% fragrance load), No problem with Indonesian Teak with this wick and this jar. Don't have any CD wicks but will get some and do a side by side burn test with the CDN and see if there is a difference in how they burn.
  18. Don't think burnt wax FO would sell very well:sad2: Now that is scary!! Sure glad you were still home and caught it.
  19. Glad to know I am not the only one who has done that.
  20. CC, Haven't had any problems with the CDN with smoke or soot in the Classic jar so far (had to wick up on 2 FO's and down on 1) but the rest have done well with the CDN 12. I think the only difference between a CD and CDN wick is that the CDN has a coating on it. Not sure, but I think they burn the same. Now if I could just find the perfect wick for those darn soot collectors square mason jars...
  21. Thanks CountryGal, I will post the results of the rest of my testing. Tara this wax is definitely worth the re-testing But I sure will be glad when I have my "old" keepers done so I can try new ones:D,(actually slip a few new ones in when I pour up the old ones). Did I mention you have got to try MillCreek's Sweet Pea and Me? (LOL) BTW I have a bear shaped jar that I can finally use with the 70/30 wax, (never could get it to do quite right with my other wax). I will post some pictures when I figure out how, I have a couple going now and they are doing GREAT!! No soot even though it has a smaller opening at the top and still get great scent throw. Have tested 5 different FO's so far and they have all done great with the same wick. Can finally sell these now. Customers have been waiting for me to "Release" the bear so they are Happy now (just don't have a big scent choice yet, but they don't care, they just want the bear).
  22. Top is right I use the CDN 12 in my "Classic" jar with the 70/30 and it works great! I agree with Tara, Satsuma is awesome in 70/30, took some to work yesterday (candle warmer) and had an order for 7 of them when I left. Tara I am also re-testing my scents I was already using in soy in the 70/30 and it is a pain but I feel the same as you ,it is well worth it.
  23. Thanks Pam W Just ordered another case of 70/30 and got the Patchouli Valencia, Honeysuckle Blooms and Plumeria as my samples. Hope the Honeysuckle and Plumeria are what I am looking for, strong and true (no luck on good ones yet). And yes, very busy testing my "keepers" in the 70/30 to see if they will work (along with testing new FO's to add) and so far they are doing GREAT!! LOVE the 70/30. At least I never have to test another wax. This one is definitely a KEEPER!! Know the feeling mizbizzyb:D
  24. Hi everyone, have not posted in a while, changed to GL 70/30 and LOVE IT!! Have added about 12 of their FO's to my "Must Haves" so far but have many JS and a few others in my line that I am retesting in 70/30 now and the JS oils I have tested so far are doing extremely well in the 70/30.
