  1. Hi there, I don't use this wax, so cannot answer your question, but you would probably get more replies if you posted this in the veggie wax section- just a suggestion!
  2. I haven't tried the ECO's (because I don't have any), but I've been having success w/ CD's in my J223/EcoSoya CB 135 blend... Good luck!
  3. Thanks for the reply MA. I use CBL 141 from candlewic for pillars/votives and a combo of EcoSoya 135 and J223 for containers. I've read that a lot of you guys love the LLC, but I really dislike lemon, so I think I'll pass on that one...
  4. Thanks to my Trivia geekness, I've got a gift cert to use, and am soooo excited! Never ordered from here before, so I'm looking for recommendations. I do candles only. What are the "must trys"?
  5. Holy cow! Those are beautiful! Great job.
  6. Holy cow, Tanya! That's a lot of gourds! They look great!
  7. Here are threads about CBL-129: http://www.candletech.com/forums/search.php?searchid=252145 And here are threads about CBL-125: http://www.candletech.com/forums/search.php?searchid=252146 HTH,
  8. This is one of the best things I learned here as a newbie. You just pour your container w/o a wick, when it's all set up, poke a hole in the middle with a skewer (or like object), and put a wick in (w/o a tab, of course!). Then, when you need to change the wick, you just yank the old wick out, stick a new one in, heat gun the top a bit, and voila- re-wicked container!
  9. Beautiful! I bet they smell great, too. Wish I could get my rustics to look like that, too- I'm working on it!
  10. Oh My Goodness! Too cute! The hot chocolate looks great, the s'mores snowmen are adorable!
  11. Congratulations! Fun, isn't it? Welcome to your newest addiction!
  12. This thread (http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10760) may give you a starting point to choose types of wicks to purchase. Definitely purchase a sampler pack of the types you choose- this will allow you to try different sizes of the wick type (which is what the number represents) to determine which wick is appropriate for your application. Most of the reputable suppliers offer wick sample packs. You can also do a search on the board for the type of wax that you decide to use, and see what types of wicks work for others to give you another starting point. I believe that Peak's has a great description of each wick type that they carry and the applications for that type, as do most other suppliers.
  13. I remember seeing taper molds on Pourette's site. If I'm remembering correctly, they are two piece molds.... Yup, just checked. Here's the link: http://www.pourette.com/dept.asp?d_id=6940&l1=6936&l2=6940 HTH,
  14. Look at the "Basic Instructions" section to the left... will give you step-by-step instructions for pillars, container and votives. The "numbers" of the wax you are using idetify they type of wax and the manufacturer, which is important because each type of wax behaves in different ways. Very helpful when you ask questions and ask for advice based upon what you have done and the result you have achieved. HTH,
  15. Top, you must type quicker than I do! LOL!
  16. Your best bet is to get a kit (includes eveything that you need to get started) from a reputable supplier. Find a supplier close to you, as shipping on wax and glass containers can get expensive. You can look here: http://www.candleandsoapstuff.com/Suppliers_by_State.html for a supplier in your state, or close to your state. HTH, and good luck! Welcome to your newest addiction!
  17. Precisely, especially now that I can see the photo. Was the glass cool when you were pouring? Did you pour slowly into the container? Either of those things can cause the jump lines... You can warm the jars in the oven at the lowest setting while your wax is melting. when your wax gets to the correct pour temp, your jars will be nice and warm to pour into! Great first try!!!!!
  18. You may have better luck posting this in the Veggie section.
  19. I ageree with Everito, and I'm not a man LOL! I think that the simple lines add a sophistication that others just don't...
  20. How does ceramic do on a melter? perhaps a wickless candle? Or, maybe a container for aroma beads or water crystals?
  21. OMG Michael! Those are simply incredible!!!!
  22. BCN Blueberry Cobbler kicks butt! I love this one- very strong thrower in my J223/ecosoya cb 135 blend, both hot and cold. Very true scent, even DH knew what it was and could smell this one. he always says that he can't smell my candles, lol.
  23. how about a peachy melon color for cucumber melon? an orange would be nice for a fruity summer scent, what about a strawberry color, too?
  24. I would pm or call Jason (Golden Brands on here). From what I understand, he's been really helpful and knowledgeable, and will talk you through your problems... He's probably the best to help you at this point.
