  1. I guess I'll never be up to trying lotion.....I just looked at that recipe and I don't know what half of the things are or where you would buy them!
  2. I dont know how to make it, but I think i've seen it at the pharmacy before by first aid supplies
  3. you've been very busy! Looks great! Hope you're having fun! I have the same problem with what to do with my soap. i'm addicted, but I've been good the last couple of weeks. I have way to much soap, even after giving a ton away for Christmas!
  4. I keep seeing people raving about this scent....now I wish I had got that one! I got buttercream and OOB it smells soooooooo good! Makes me want to bake a cake and pour it on there! lol! It smells just like frosting! I dont know if I want to put it in wax or soap it!
  5. I think partylite is about the best "commercial" candle out there. I used to sell it and Never once saw bad ones, off centered wicks, bad surfaces, but then again the machines don't have the errors that our hands can make....at least not as easily right?
  6. very cute! are you going to try to match the scent to the painting?
  7. I never bought the cheap candles.......I'd rather have none than CRAP! lol what does everyone think of partylite candles?
  8. I went to a local pet supply store today and they had soy candles at the register. I've only made a few candles, never soy, never container. I love to sniff things though, and touch them lol.....can't keep my hands to myself in a store.....thats a whole other topic though. I opened up 1 jar and couldnt believe that it was for sale! it was UGLY.....smelled great, pretty color but the texture of the top, I was just shocked that someone would put they're name on it to be sold! $7.00 for I think a pint jar....seems average to my area, but they should at least be SMOOTH right? I could be wrong here since i've never made one, but are they supposed to be all bumpy and bubbly and ugly!?!?!? Would you put your name/label on one to sell it if it were??? I wish I had taken a pic to show you, but I didn't want to offend anyone at the store...for all I know the cashier there made them :rolleyes2 sorry for the ramblings on of a crazy lady.....I just wanted to share!
  9. I think they look great. I like the kinda wavy edges
  10. I bought some beet root powder last week and have been thinking about soaping with it. I'm a chicken and don't want to ruin a whole batch! But I just found this on Camdengrey and thought I'd ask: Beet Root (Beta vulgaris), powdered root, U.S. The beautiful red-purple color of beet root is a clear sign of the amazing plant pigments known as carotenoids. Beet root powder when used in soapmaking will produce colors ranging from deep yellow to kidney bean/red-brown color to deep pink/purple. As you can see, due to its many color ranges we suggest you first experiment. Beetroot powder can be used to create a deep pink to purple-colored oil with which you can tint skin care products naturally So has anyone used this in soap? If I am to try should I use it just like any pigment and mix it with some soap first before adding it to all? Any tips are appreciated
  11. beautiful! I want to make them, but I'm OOOOH SO NOT ARTISTIC
  12. When I was about 10 we went to a nature center here and each of the students made a tallow candle. OMG I remember how much It STUNK! But I have a hard time cooking hamburger sometime because I think it stinks so I could have just been me! I think it was just tallow and a wick and we hand dipped it, turned into a taper. I dont think it ever got burned, gave it to my parents for christmas that year. wonder what ever happened to it?
  13. I was bored and playing around one day. Mixed soap, sugar, and ground oatmeal with a little bit of soybean oil, olive oil, sweet almond, and tea tree oil. I hate the smell of tea tree so I put in a FO to cover that smell (didn't work:p ) My mom and MIL love it.....I dont (tea tree smell)
  14. here are a couple other lotion bars, not cheap but I thought maybe someone would like to see them anyway! http://theidealhandlaundry.com/pages/sundr...-BBJ28&button=2 http://www.wellnaturally.com/bottles/deod.html

  17. I had a 1lb block and I don't know if it was a bad idea or not, but I microwaved it for a few seconds, like 15 or so and checked it. I was then able to use my soap cutter or scraper and slice it up. I cut it all up at that time and put it in a bag. The smaller pieces are easier to work with.
  18. these ones are smaller, but I thought I'd show it anyway....... .5 oz tubes...... http://www.elementsbathandbody.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=388&strVarSel=&strCompare=
  19. Very nice! Personally I'd use a smaller basket so it looks fuller......or add a few things to it? In my baskets I made for family for Christmas....I added bath poufs just to make it full.
  20. http://www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/stylus-cobalt-blue-bottle-p-79.html The only reason I've even seen this site was because someone asked about it yesterday:) I'm glad they did, they have some beautiful and interesting bottles and I've added it to my favorites! That list is getting so big I may never even see that website again (lost in the folder probably LOL) but I've requested a catalog and when that comes I'll spend hours wishing I could order everything!
  21. http://www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/ maybe they have what you're looking for, I was just looking at this site earlier!
