  1. Pop Tarts wouldn't warrant a C&D because it has nothing to do with candle wax. It's only when the name is used in conjunction with wax that the trademark infringement would apply.
  2. A lot of people here mix the FO in with their oils before adding the lye water. That might help you out. Also be sure you aren't using too much of a water discount, especially with floral fragrances. HTH
  3. How cool is that??? Congratulations!
  4. This round of scents looks yummah!! I was kind of disappointed with their last batch of new FO's.
  5. Good luck, Inez! I would be sure to tell them to send me the perfume in an oil base, since most perfumes are in an alcohol base (which of course would not mix well with a flame).
  6. I agree, they have been a great company to order from. And it's nice to have my favorite Scent Shop FO's back!!
  7. It does frost with reds, but is fairly well-behaved with other colors.
  8. Hi there, I also live in Nashville. I tried the KY125 and, for semi-local wax companies, I much preferred the Bluegrass soy for throw. It works well with the ECO wicks, you can also try those in the 125. Both the ECO and Premier series wicks seem to throw the best in soy wax, IMO. HTH and welcome!
  9. I'd recommend using the GB 416 instead, this is their tart wax and produces hard, shiny tarts. The 415 is a container wax and wouldn't be as hard.
  10. I only use natural colorants in my soap now. My favorite is parsley powder; it makes the most gorgeous shade of green!
  11. I use it at 2.5% in my soap. It adds a lot of hardness and creamy lather. I do plug it into the soap calculator along with the rest of my oils.
  12. I get mine from Columbus Foods. It's about $2 per lb if you order a large enough quantity.
  13. I am planning on getting this insurance soon. From reading the guidelines, it will cover candles but you also HAVE to make & sell soap.
  14. Love the clay work! And your chinchilla is adorable.
  15. The only FO I know of that sounds like what you want is Endless Summer from The Scent Works.
  16. I have done this, and posted the pic in the gallery: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17376 I did not notice any difference in melting rates between the CP and MP.
  17. Also, what temperature do you add your FO? Could be it's not hot enough to bind with the wax.
  18. I just got a couple of cases of their jars. I was very impressed, they were thick Anchor Hocking jars. They took the time to individually wrap each jar in newspaper inside the manufacturer's box, which was then packed inside a shipping carton. Shipping was also very fast and quite reasonably priced.
  19. I was cruising the web for upscale candles and came across a company called Geodesis, whose candles are made of "the purest mineral wax". Huh? So I looked on Wikipedia and found this entry: So - I guess this is the new fancy word for paraffin?
  20. I'd also recommend trying out the Premier 700 series wicks. They have a gazillion sizes but, sadly, they do not provide a burn chart.
  21. Green Leaf's lavender is very realistic, it is made with lavender EO. They test all their FO's in soy wax.
  22. Hi funnygirl, I've used it in place of beeswax before. I didn't notice much difference at that low an amount. It might be fun to play with higher percentages to see what it does to the soap.
  23. Hi and welcome to the forum. I just wanted to give you a few pointers on forum etiquette that will make your visit here more enjoyable. First, constant yelling is not necessary and not appreciated. Please take your keyboard off caps lock. People will be more responsive to you if you are not yelling at them. Second, if you are going to ask a question that's completely off topic from the original post, it is always a good idea to start your own thread. You will have a much better chance of getting your questions answered this way. Thank you and, again, welcome to our community.
  24. Those molds *can* be used for CP, but they are better utilized for M&P, IMO. I'd get some Rubbermaid drawer organizers at Target. They are 15" X 6.25" X 2" and fit 2lbs of soap (2lbs oils + water & lye) perfectly. Here's a pic:
  25. Tapioca Pure is a starch used in place of talc in some applications. WSP has it...here is a link http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=5146&ProductName=Tapioca+Pure
