  1. Tucker, my hubby saw that candle and said all of his fantasy gaming friends would die for that candle. Where did you get such a cool pic? BTW hubby said he would pay almost any price for that beauty of a candle
  2. I have finished my wick testing with the 700 series and I am extremely pleased with the results. I am going to be placing an order this coming week and was wondering if anyone wanted to go in since min order of each size is 1000 pieces? I would be willing to do the work of repacking and shipping out as well.
  3. I have a jelly bean mold and really like it. I am pasting the link to the company that I got it from. HTH! http://shop.candlesandsupplies.com/candles/category.asp?catalog%5Fname=Candles&category%5Fname=Rubber+Molds&Page=2
  4. Thanks for the compliment on Patrick. He is almost 3 now. I have a hard time waiting to burn my candles as well but have found it is worth the wait as far as scent throw goes. If I am just testing wicks I do not wait as long.
  5. mnhorsemom..I use the votive blend from waxhouse and mine fall right out of the mold when they are cool enough. I do have to heat my votive molds and pour at 180 so that the tops do not crack.
  6. AD...maybe you could let your soy cure longer than 24 hours. I usually let mine cure for longer to ensure good throw.
  7. Thanks wickman for sending my free sample as well. My business name is Soytastic Candles in MN. I will be ordering soon...need to finish testing my scents.
  8. I am using Simply Soy from Waxhouse since I can save on all of my freight charges. I use their 100% container blend and their votive blend as well.
  9. For my votives I have been using primarily the 740 some 745 but I do not dye my soy candles. As far as using the 770 in the tin, what is the diameter of the tin? I have found with my 8oz jj that I have hang up on the first burn but it is usually gone the 2nd burn and by the 3rd burn no hangup. I tend to wick to big initially and I have to get over that. I find that if I wick to large I get big 'shrooms.
  10. Jeana, what did you figure out for tealights? I started testing but ran out of time and patience. Could you give me a starting point?
  11. I have been testing their 700 series wicks as well. I really love them. I do not use the square masons but I do use 8oz jj and usually go with a 765 and I do not color. I think you may have to wick up to a 767 if you color and use heavier oils. I also have been testing my votives as well. I have gotten better scent throws in my votives with their wicks. I am going to order some large quantities after xmas.
  12. I just made a batch of soy votives with Cranberry dyed burgundy. I had to wick to a 51-32-18 cotton. Doesn't that seem like a huge wick for that votive. I am out of my normal wicks that I use for my soy votives that it get from wickit. Please give some feedback. Thanks!
  13. Notes to self: 1. Do not try to cut wax of anykind with electric knife MIL gave you for xmas. It just will not work! Thought it was worth a try since I do not cook in kitchen anymore. 2. Do not put test candle with jumping flame where cat will want to play with it. The kitty will always singe his whiskers and burn his pads. 3. Do not promise good friends odd color/FO combos. Destined to be a failure right from get go. And do not wait until last minute to finish their order. 4. Spend less time on board and more time making candles for xmas gifts. With that said I better get back into kitchen and finish gifts.
  14. I have a Konica color laser as well. I have run 1000's of clear laser labels through my printer in the past 2 years. I have never had one problem. Is is possible Konica knows this is a problem and has done nothing to rectify it? My hubby also has a HP laser and we run both clear and white through that one as well with no problems.
  15. Until I had a tealight mold I hated them lil' buggers as well. I have the tealight mold from candlewic and love it.
  16. Cool candle, I see a heart shape in the candle as well.
  17. I am so glad to hear that you have tried and tested your candles. I have spent the past 3-5years testing and resting waxes, FO's wicks etc. It is pain staking and harder work than my day job (LOL I did not think that would be the case). I chose candle making because I was tired of substandard candles from all sorts of stores. That is when my interest peaked in candle making. Since I have taken my time and tested I have made very high quality products and thus I have steady repeat customers. They are wowed by my products and they tell their friends and so the chain goes. Keep up the good work!
  18. I also order oils from Leah as well. I have ordered Lantana flower and just love it.
  19. That's my most popular size when selling a trio of candles. A very good investment.
  20. Marilyn, Do you have any suggestions for starting points for votives and 8 oz JJ with the 700 series? I hate to use up my whole sample box right away just testing. I am testing an orange dreamsicle votive with a 740 right now and it is do ok but not 100% satisfied with the burn.
  21. I use the 4045 from waxhouse because he is local for me. It does mottle perfectly and I am able to make rustics with it no problem.
  22. Has anyone tried the 700 Series of wicks from Wickit? I ordered a free sample to test in my soy and parafin candles. Just curious to see what test results others had on these wicks.
  23. Has anyone tried the 700 Series of wicks from Wickit? I ordered a free sample to test in my soy and parafin candles. Just curious to see what test results others had on these wicks.
  24. I also use 4045 and love it. It mottles perfectly everytime. I use 2/0 square braid for 99% of my 3" pillars.
  25. I have some votive molds that always stick with my soy no matter what I do. I now have separated the ones that make the soy stick. I have tried everything under the sun and it's just a fact the some of my molds make the soy stick.
