  1. Does anyone use this wax with the Premier wicks? My supplier just changed to this wax and I am having so much trouble with wicking it. If anyone uses this wax with these wicks could you let me know what size you are wicking with? TIA! Deb
  2. I will be adding some but right now my favorite and best thrower is... A Scent Shop....White Tea and Cactus! It rocks in EL Container Blend!
  3. Type of Soy or Soy Blend you use? EL 100% Soy & EL Votive Blend Additives if any? Nothing for containers, trying out Frostop for votives Preferred dyes? Pryme Color System Preferred wick (Not sizes)? Premier Series all the way! Pouring temp you recommend? Containers-cloudy/ slushy, votives 175-180 What you do to prevent frosting?containers not a problem, votives trying out Frostop What you do to prevent rough tops? No an issue with either Do you do anything to prevent wet spots? No
  4. I do have 2 presto pots and 4 melting pots. I do wick jars and make labels while waiting for wax to get cool. Guess I am doing ok then.
  5. I work FT and it seems like I can never pour enough jars in an evening? I believe I have my process streamlined as possible but I takes so long since I have to pour slushy. Any feedback would be great!
  6. Have you tried a veggie modifier at all? I ordered some today to see if that helps with the frost. I love the scent so far from the EL Votive but the frost when I shrink wrap is horrible.
  7. Does anyone use this wax? If so, how do you like it i.e. scent throw, frosting, and pour temps? My supplier changed to this wax and I have not used it before.
  8. Just go done doing a test burn on White Tea and Cactus. This throws strong at 4%. I do not know how to accurately describe it either. Just wanted to let other soy chandlers know that this has an awesome hot and cold throw.
  9. I would definitely say stay focused on one thing at a time and master it. Then move on to the next thing. When I started years ago and b4 I found this board I was trying to do too many things and everything was turning out halfa$$. After I took those words of wisdom to focus my business started to take off because I was producing good quality candles.
  10. What kind of wicks and sizes are you using? What % of FO are you usng as well?
  11. Tucker, You dirty old man!! LOL!!! Just kidding...I love all of these candles that you guys have made. I am stuck in jar candle hell right now!
  12. I moved some text around last night but forgot to move the pictures. It is fixed now.
  13. I have been testing the 700 series in my 4045 rustic pillars. I have been burning a bayberry rustic and I have not even had to hug the thing. Perfect MP and everything. The pillar is a 3 x 6 with 6% FO load and stearic for the rustic look. I used a 765 in this particular candle and really like the mp and flame height. btw...scent throw is good too!
  14. My basic list consists of the following: wax type additives wick fo % pour temp dye amounts test burn results Plus any other comments that may be helpful in future. Sometimes I even take photos, print them and attach to my note sheet so that I can remeber what the candle looked like in the end.
  15. Words cannot express how bad I feel for you. I lost my first book of notes when we moved and trying to do it from memory is near impossible. So know I keep my notebook as well as a set save on my computer.
  16. I saw "Soy Based" on some of the scents on the MoonGlow website. I am not sure of the exact meaning of this either. All I do know is my local supplier carriers some specifically for soy and he told me that those particular oils have a differenct carrier compared to his other oils.
  17. Do any of you use scents from Moonglow? I am trying to strictly stay with scents that are soybased since they throw very well for me that way? Just wondering if you had any favorites/recommendations etc?
  18. Just wanted to share with everyone that I finally got my site done. We still have some products to test and add yet but we are so excited. www.soytasticcandles.net Take a peak! Feel free to make any suggestions or comments! Deb:yay:
  19. I have a whole case of PB. I was wondering if this wax is prone to frosting. I like my current soy votive/pillar wax but it always starts to frost after about three day. It is especially bad if I shrink wrap them as well. Does anyone have any experience with shrink wrap and this blend or the frost?
  20. Thanks for the input. I do have cranberry spice on my list 'cuz I have had requests for it. I am just waiting to place an order and save on freight as much as possible. Thanks again! BTW--I am using 100% so am I safe to assume these throw well in soy?
  21. I am at the point where I am ready to add new scents to my collection. So far I have the following: Holiday Memories Sugar Cookie French Vanilla Bergamot Spring Fresh Carmel Apple Macinthosh Apple Snickerdoodle Mulberry Gardenia Blackberry Cinnabun Basil Nectarine Orange Blossom Mossberry I just cannot decide what to add to this collection. There are way too many choices out there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am looking to try some new FO suppliers since I am sort of fedup with my current supplier. TIA Deb
  22. Best money I have spent so far in candle making! Now why did I not think of it and make some $$$. My hubby calls it a glorified veggie chopper. Shame on him!!
  23. Welcome aboard. This is the greatest board in the world! Everyone is great here! I was so lost before I found this board.
