  1. Aztec has them as well and cheaper if you are using them for smelly jellies. HTH
  2. PLEASE DO NOT USE A CANDLE AS A LOTION!!!!!!!!!!! This is a dangerous practice that has taken hold and needs to be stopped! Its not the heat of the candle wax, its the concentration of the fragrance oils AND the dyes used (if at all). Candle dye is NOT BODY SAFE! The concentration of scent used in candles is MUCH HIGHER than it is in bath and body products and may cause a skin reaction. PLEASE STOP THIS PRACTICE!! If you want a lotion, buy a lotion. If you want a candle, buy a candle. DO NOT MIX THE TWO IT IS DANGEROUS!!!!!!!! Thanks
  3. This oil is 100% all natural Wow, I didn't know there was a Bananna Nut Bread EO.....hmmm....wonder how you distill that one with or without butter on it? LMAO.
  4. I agree. She should have had her bouquet pressed and preserved by a florist that specializes in that. You can press the petals and use them as embeds but there isn't really a way to preserve the entire bouquet in candle. You can dry the buds and use those as embeds too but if you've already lost one rose, I doubt they will dry very well. You hang them upside down to dry. HTH. IMO, saving your bouquet is a silly idea anyway, you are supposed to toss it for good luck. ADD: I just thought of something....is there a picture of her bouquet? You could do a photo hurricane with the picture. Just an idea....
  5. 7ONCES OF OIL so it only works once 7 times? LMAO It looks like she bought a ton at Hobby Lobby's last 1/2 off sale or went to a Micheal's store closing and is trying to reap the profits.
  6. Your melt pool is too deep. Wick your jar down and see if it does better. When measuring for melt pool you want a full pool (all the way to the edges) in as many hours as inches in the diameter of your jar. So if you are wicking a 4" jar you want your melt pool to be fully to the edge by the END of 4 hours....Depth usually takes care of itself if you stick to that general rule. HTH.
  7. Contact CA farming bureau and find a local beekeeper that is willing to wholesale the wax for you. There should be tons around Tahoe City. If not, try NV. HTH
  8. LMAO wootoo!!!! I'm wondering the same thing.... How hard is it to pour out the melted wax into a storage container of some type??
  9. I'm drilling for my own oil. LMAO. By the by, its spelled P-A-R-A-F-F-I-N.....LOL.
  10. That was my thought too. With the A/C on the water in the sand might have cooled it off too quickly. You could try it using warm water and keeping the sand out of reach from the A/C. Your wax is hot enough. HTH. Let us know how it goes.
  11. LMAO, you're right that was bad! Just kidding. Oh heck I could list a ton of things the Fire Chief I knew used to warn us about and candles were surprising low on the list.
  12. Interestingly enough, those cause more house fires than unattended candles......according to the fire chief I used to know.
  13. Hey new market for me! Thanks!! LMAO. I can handle 25% beeswax, no prob.
  14. you want to wait until the sides of the votive are lukewarm to the touch before you repour. I agree with Henry, try pouring cooler or at the same temp as the first pour. What also helps is to slightly tug the wick right before you repour. HTH.
  15. I always marathon burn. People don't read directions, they figure that its a candle, it can't cause a fire and thus I make sure that if someone does go to sleep without blowing out my candles that it won't cause a fire by itself(assuming that they didn't light it next to curtains or some such). I do the same thing with tarts. I turn them on and leave them be for hours on end. Great burn after 13 hours!
  16. I'm not sure but I think that Catholic Church doctrine says the candles around the alter have to contain 50% beeswax.
  17. That's what I do. Dump them into a sink of hot soapy water, scrub them a bit, rinse really well and dry really well. No problems with rust either.
  18. 35%?? OMG!!!!!!!!!! Yeah no wonder they chip. Wow, I knew it was high, didn't know it was 35%.
  19. YES! DO NOT EAT Keep away from Children and Pets Used Distilled Water ONLY to refresh crystals (perferated lid only; keep lid on at all times) DO NOT LIGHT (sounds stupid but you'd be surprised) That about covers it I think. HTH
  20. Cheese cloth, steel mesh and small amounts can be filtered using used pantyhose. As Pam said, heat it then pour it through your filter material a few times. Its gonna be messy and take a bit of time and materials (buckets) but its worth it. HTH
  21. Welcome to the world of candlemaking. The best supplier is a matter of debate..LMAO. Most suppliers are fantastic but everyone has their favorites. I'd say the best supplier is the one that is closest to you for heavy items like glass and wax. Here are some very helpful links to get you started: Candle and Soap Suppliers by State Fragrance Finder Candlemaking FAQ HTH. Good Luck!!!

  23. If you believe that, I've got some ocean front property for sale in Yuma....LMFAO. My point wasn't if he could afford it, I could care less if he could, it was that tossing everything together and making a zillion is far worse than trying to perfect one.
