  1. Do you mean their Twisted Peppermint? I didn't see anything at BBW called Candy Cane Gone Wild. The Twisted Peppermint smelled like Jack Frost to me, but I've been pouring Jack Frost for two weeks so maybe my nose is stuck in Jack Frost mode. BBW's description is peppermint, sugar and vanilla.
  2. Yep! I probably like colored bath water more than my kids do...LOL. But I agree I don't want to scrub color out of the tub..pastel is nice!
  3. I use the body spray base from The Candlemakers Store. Fo mixes right in, no clouding. I have used up to 15% FO and have not had any mixing or clouding problems. It saves me a lot of time not having to mix up my own base, I prefer to spend my time making candles and soap . If you are close to Kentucky than Ohio you might want to order it from KY, it is the same base and shipping would probably be cheaper. HTH.
  4. You won't be disappointed buying from Stone Stew South. Her potpourri is beautiful. I buy it in bulk unscented, but she has sent me scented samples with my orders and they smell amazing. Her prices are great and shipping is fast.
  5. He recommended I contact one of my suppliers. They recommended 70% cutting oil - 30% FO. If I remember correctly they told me that 70/30 was a perfume oil concentration. There is some information about refresher oils I saved the other day when I was shopping at The Candlemakers Store. Here's the link if you're interested. http://www.thecandlemakersstore.com/category/faq.candlemaking_formulas/
  6. NG still has Frosted Snow Drops, just ordered more yesterday. I think it smells great too!
  7. Well, I'm a bit confused now. When I started selling my products, I made an appointment with a product liability lawyer and had him look over all my labeling and warnings. The only thing he had a problem with was the refresher oil, it was uncut. He told me that I could not sell a manufacturer product as a consumer product that it would have to be cut. I gave him the same argument about products on the market that say 100% Fragrance Oil, he said they are not labeled uncut and fragrance oil whether cut or uncut is still fragrance oil. Is what he told me wrong? I did look at a bottle from C&S and it is printed right on the bottle for manufacturing use only. Looked at the Aromatique site too and they sell light bulb rings on the same page as the oils. If they were uncut wouldn't some of those oils have too low of a flash point to use in a light bulb ring?
  8. I had time to weigh it..LOL, had to wait for wax to melt. 2 tbls. weigh around 17 grams and 3 tbls. weigh around 25.5 grams, put into percentages it would between 4% and 6% (rounded up). Hope that helps give you a starting point. I'm sure you already know this but just thought I would add, make sure the straight paraffin you buy mottles, not all straight paraffins will mottle. Have fun experimenting.
  9. For mottles and rustics start testing with maybe 3 percent stearic. If you don't get results you like adjust from there. I use 2-3 tbls. of stearic but that really doesn't help you. I'm making some candles tonight and I can weigh it, can let you know what it weighs in grams if that helps.
  10. This is a list of retailers by state that carry ball jars, might help. http://www.homecanning.com/usa/ALRetailers.asp Fillmore Container has them reasonably priced, but shipping from PA to TX would probably be high. http://www.fillmorecontainer.com
  11. Very nice! Hope it turns out for you.

    Sage

Candlechem has a straight sage. I haven't used it though, so I can't tell you how it performs.
  13. I've used Plumeria and Mediterranean Fig in B&B, they are both great. I've only used them in lotion and body spray though, haven't soaped them yet. Edited to add: Mimosa and Mandarin, Black Currant and Nectarine are good too. Brain fog this morning. I have lots of samples from them, but haven't used them yet, if you want OOB reviews I can tell you what I think of them OOB.
  14. I agree with Jen about the Pink Sugar. Natures Garden has a great one, super strong at 1oz. per lb. It's very popular here, I've gone through 3 lbs of it in the last month. It might depend on the age of your guests though. Seems to be the most popular with teens through 30's. The baskets are a great idea, maybe for the perfume dupe scents you could have a sign that says Fifth Avenue, Macy's Counter, Saks or something like that. Good luck with your show!
  15. I have always used this wax for votives and never have a problem. Does the votive fit tightly in the holder you are using?
  16. Annabelle Bearden Bath and Body? I remember seeing those in a gift shop somewhere. Not sure if that's the Annabelle Bath and Body your asking about.
  17. Hi Michael, Are you looking for liquid paraffin to use in the little glass reservoirs? This link might help http://www.lamplightfarms.com/lamplighthome.html If you can't purchase directly from them, they may be able to give you the name and address of a wholesale distributor. I used to use it when I made wedding candles, I haven't bought it for a long time but I used to be able to get it at Walmart cheaper than wholesale. If I remember correctly it was $4.97 for 45 oz. at Walmart. HTH Dee
  18. Use it for firestarters, they don't have to be pretty, just functional.
  19. Definitely call them, doesn't sound right to me. I'm 4 states away from them and my shipping for 2 gallons of lotion base, shipping wt. 16.48lbs. was only $12.63.
  20. Is this the one you're looking for? http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2357&highlight=dripping+candle
  21. Are these what you are looking for? http://shop.candlesandsupplies.com/candles/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Candles&category%5Fname=Candle+Holders%2FAccessories&product%5Fid=TARTWARM Sorry, I can't tell you how well they work, I use the warmers with lightbulbs, but the Candles and Supplies warmers are 24 watts so they should work.
  22. The only thing that comes to my mind is Tea Rose. Those are very pretty soaps!
  23. LOL!..Nope you didn't enter the twilight zone..everyone I asked to smell OOB said it smelled like chocolate. The scent in wax was a really nice surprise.
