  1. I am going to check it out! I've looked at Shopify, and I know it's a great platform, but it's too much website for me at this point and it is pricey. Sooooo I'm off to check out Square!
  2. Hi Candybee, Just wondering how Square has been working out for you? I am looking to set up an e-commerce site and would love your input!
  3. I really liked BSN's wood wicks out of all that I tested, but it seems they are no longer going to carry these wicks. I just hate when I get something working and have to start all over again.
  4. Anyone have a good mottling wax that you use for container candles?
  5. Excellent! Great answers. I will get melting the leftover waxes in these jar, clean and reuse!
  6. What do you guys do with old tester glass jars? Do you just toss them? I have a few boxes of tester jars I've used. Just curious...
  7. Thank you, Trappeur. I am going to experiment today!
  8. I didn't know cored wicks could be self trimming! I learn so much on this forum!
  9. I was playing with some IGI 4630, heated wax to 185, added dye chip and FO, poured at about 175-180 into heated jars, cooled slowly. Glass adhesion was perfect but the tops were "brainy" looking, and had to take a heat gun to them, which didn't elicit a great top. Any ideas what I did wrong?
  10. Boy, it surely looks very close to those hemp wicks. Would hemp wicks require trimming? This company, believe it or not, recommended not trimming. Their wick trimmed itself all the way down. No mushroom, no soot, beautiful melt pool... It's a mystery!
  11. I bought a few candles from a local very small candle company. These candles burned cleanly all the way down. Jars looked like they just came out of dishwasher after burning. Company says wax is a veggie proprietary blend. Wicks were self trimming. I pulled apart a bit of a piece of wick, wondering what type it is. It's cored with a brown colored core -- all of them were, whether it be jar or votive. It could very well be a proprietary wick. Just curious if anyone recognizes it... Pic attached.
  12. Do you re-package wax warmers or re-box warmers if the box comes from a company such as OBI or Levine, or do you keep them in their original carton?
  13. Just wondering if anyone uses PayPal at craft shows for credit card purchases and if PayPal is well received by customers. Thanks for your input!
  14. Love this wax! Tried CDs and CDNs, but even with different sizes I tried, I do get some soot. It may just be that I am not used to working with CD wicks. Connie's recommended Zinc -- I wasn't too crazy about the zinc wicks in this wax. Anyone use wicks other than CDs, CDNs, or Zincs with this wax?
  15. Thank you! Good advice!
  16. Love your ideas! I am so excited! Such fun!
  17. How do you know if your candle jar is too hot when burning a candle jar? I use a parasoy, and every wick I use, it seems when I get a nice melt pool, or when the wax burns down, the sides of the jar are very hot. How hot is too hot?
  18. Awesome ideas! Thank you! And, yes, this a project for shower favors. Just trying to put a list together of scents to order.... These are great!
  19. I am new to this forum and I just love reading everyone's posts. I learn so much from all of you! I am making melts for my daughter's baby shower in August. Just looking for ideas for scents -- thought maybe baby powder -- but can make anything. I am looking to be creative with some fun "baby shower-ish" names to go with the scents. Any ideas for best scents, supplier and fun names? Thanks in advance!
