I have never purchased any good Christmas scents. I always have to mix all my left over scents that don't sell together and have to make up a name. This will give me a chance to test some scents from other suppliers. Thanks!

Candles are my full-time business. After dreaming of owning my own candle business forever I was finally able to make it happen by cashing in all my stock options given to me by my previous employer and selling all my real estate. I bought and flipped 8 houses in 7 years and decided to stop last year because my hubby couldn't remember which home we lived in and we were both burned out from living in fixer uppers....

I always take plenty of business cards, but have found alot of people collect them like baseball cards. Weird.... I take a notebook and have people sign up with their name, address, & phone number. email address too! Then I can send them a flyer/newsletter.. I always need scissors, tape, string, matches, baskets, candy for the rugrats (it keeps their little hands off the candles).

Hard candy or cough drops are handy, it seems after talking throughout the day my throat gets very dry, and these keep my mouth moist. Chewing gum isn't a good idea, I hate it when people are talking and chewing gum and I have to see it flying around inside their mouths..YUCK!! I use dark colored table cloths and having a lint brush to keep the dusties off helps. I also take my date book, because people always ask where I am going to be next.

I ordered the raspberry lemonade and loved it. It is so dead on. It has a great cold and hot throw. I am looking for holiday scents now. The stores are looking for fall and holiday stuff right now. It is hard to think about that when it is 90 degrees outside.. Anyone try any good scents that would work for fall? I am wanting a good wreath or pine scent that B&BW sells I think it is called Christmas tree scent not sure? All that I have tried smell like the pine tree fresheners that used to be used in the bathrooms. Yuck!!!

I use coffee beans. I put them either in a nice jar with the daisy lid or I cut a piece of tulle in a circle, load it with coffee beans and tie it off with a ribbon. If you go to the perfume section of the dept. stores that will give you an idea of how to package the coffee beans, because that is what they use.

I bought out a lady that was getting out of the business, but the wickstore is where she did buy her alot of her stuff. There are instructions on that website that will help you get started. I had to go there a few times to make sure I was doing everything correctly. I have found glass bowls are the best because it holds oil and won't absorb it. My dad owns a stone business so I can get all the rock I want for free and my hubby & I do a lot of woodworking so we have all the tools to drill through the rock.. Good Luck!!!!

I hate the smell of Lovespell. I don't know why, but sister bought me the shampoo and conditioner because she thought I said I liked it when I really said I HATE IT!!!! I used it one day because she was coming over and my hubby just went crazy:drool:.... He just loved it! The conditioner and shampoo made my hair shiny and soft, but I just can't overcome the smell...

Yup, I pick huckleberries every July and haven't found anything close to smelling like the berry. I would love to send some to a scent factory to see if they can match it, but until them I guess I will try the Huckleberry Harvest, black currant, and JS FO's until I find a duplicate or something I really like... I just purchased the Juicy peach. Stay away from it.. It smells so bad I am sick to my stomach....It smells like diesel fumes with a hint of peach. I can't get it out of my nose palatte... I sent them an email to ask what is going on. Not sure if I will get a response. Has anyone ordered a scent that smells so horrible that the company replaced it????

I've heard about Candle Wealth from a lady at a craft show that purchased all the supplies to get started selling candles, but she said she was having a hard time making a profit. She said she was selling her 8 oz. jj. candles for $20.00. ea. When I heard that I started laughing:laugh2:. She wasn't very happy, especially when my candles were priced around $8-10.00. Since there was just her and I selling candles, guess who was making a profit that day.... me.......I think she should have checked out the market before setting her price.

Since It has been a while since I made soap, I think it was 1998 since I made a batch. I have a question and am hoping some of you experienced soapmakers can help... I just purchased 1 lb. of glycerine soap based shea butter and want to make a batch of the swirl looking soap. I also purchased some red raspberry soap dye and have some Black Raspberry Vanilla FO, now I need to know how much dye do I add to make it swirl and how much FO do I add to make it smell wonderful without making a gloppy mess. I am just in the testing stage and don't want to miss out on all the fun you all are having. I am just so excited to try this and I want it to work out! Thank you all this is a great board..

I am so sorry you had a heart attack... I had a stroke last July 3rd and it took a while to get back to normal. I just want to say depression can take over if you let it. With a deep faith and family support you can overcome it. People tend to think their heart failed them, it didn't because you are still here. I still have at the back of my mind that I will have another stroke, but I am living as though it were my last day on earth... It will take some time to heal but it really is a time for you to take care of yourself and reflect on what is most important to you....I think I cried for about 6 months straight, which is like cleaning our your soul..Good luck and take care.

I have been making bath salts for quite a few years and the biggest problem I am having is that the scent doesn't last very long only about 2 months. I am wondering is there an ingredient that I could add to make it last longer. The color is fine, but the scent goes away. I guess it smells like salt. Should I add to the label the bath salts should be used within the month or something..
