I made these and I tell you what a mess. They go everywhere.. Way too much work to get these dipped into the birdseed and stay...

I have noticed some places when they have a sale will tag on the extra 10% or whatever it is onto the shipping costs, so you are still paying for it one way or another. So watch out! Shipping hasn't gone up as most companies have posted. I ship Mon., Tues., & Wednesdays and the prices haven't changed except for the fuel charge it is about 80 cents more.. Whoopy ding dong... If the companies are upfront about handling fees that is fine, but put it in writing. I am starting to think these companies think we are smelling too many wax fumes to realize what is going on...

DUH!!! I think I will use the scent mixing idea too!!

You need to verify your address with Sweet Cakes to make sure it is correct. I know when I deliver packages thru UPS they always look up the address to make sure it is a legit address if not they always let me know. So I end up having to call the customer to verify the address, just to make sure. If you entered your address correctly when placing your order than Sweet Cakes would be liable. That is a tough one! Sorry that happened to you.....

I also would like to know. I have never purchased any FO from them and would like to know too. Thanks

You look totally organized. I try about once a week to organize my room because I get so frustrated when I see a mess and then it goes back to things everywhere. I have to get rid of my extra stuff to make room for more stuff.... Anyone up for a good sale!!!!

I just wipe mine out with a clean cloth. Sometimes a bit of dusties or tiny pieces of cardboard lands at the bottom of the jar. I haven't seen any kind of film on the jars, but I have never used those kind of jars. Were the jars brand new or used??? If they were used you may have some residue on the jar, I would guess..

I just received my 1st order from AWE. THey had a special 1 oz. 10/$20.00. Yuck!! Out of the 11 scents I received I was only happy with 1.. I bought their special of orange marmalade for $5.00 8 oz. not worth it! I can't believe it! The Baked cinnamon apple was the only one that smelled good but not yummy, the rest smelled yuck to ok.... Not happy with the scents. I thought maybe they would be fine, because I had ordered Raspberry Lemonade a couple of years ago and loved it! Nothing was true to its scent. Good thing I didn't order any larger sizes. What a waste of my hard earned money....

These are what I ordered:

Huckleberry - Blah to yuck! No berry not sure what berry they used maybe

chokecherry.

Marmalade - Just smells like an orange. Not a clean fresh scent that I was

hoping for. Very plain.

Mulled Cider - Very light apple with a tiny pinch of cinnamon.

Noel - Nature's Hike - Yuck! Smelled just like the tree air fresheners.

Mistletoe - Memories - Yuck! Smelled exactly like Noel. What's up with

that!.

Chestnuts & Brown Sugar - Smells just like vanilla.

Lick me all over - I can't describe this one. I thought it was a sweet

smelling scent. Not sweet at all.

Log Cabin - Yuck! Smells just like the log cabin burned down after a rain

storm.

Pumpkin Pie - Yuck! Smells like stinky feet.

Christmas Eve - Summer Nights- Yuck! Smells a little bit like Raspberry

lemonade a little bit of pine mixed together. Not what I would

expect for Christmas..

That really sucks!:undecided I am wondering how many suppliers are going to go under. I will have to raise my prices , but to add 40%-50% more to my candles is going to be tough. As we know candles aren't a necessity, but they are sure a mood enhancing drug that is going to be hard to kick... I can't live without the UPS guy dropping off my new shipment of FO and supply of wax .......

If the glass looks ok enough to use it as a tester, I would do that.

I received a phone call this morning from a lady from my credit union. She had mentioned a few weeks ago that she needed a waxed bear for her neice that is having a baby in Aug. She never mentioned when she needed the bear, so this morning she called first thing and asked when she could get it since her neice was having the shower Sat. Oh my gosh, I said I would bring it around 2 pm. Then she said another lady from the Credit union wanted one too. So I knew my day was going to be busy.... So I kicked it into high gear and on top of it I have a sinus infection and can't smell anything. Anywho I dug threw my boxes of bears and found 4 that I liked and got to work.... I was done very quick and hardly a mess. (surprising, I know.) I ran down to the store and purchased cellophane and some pretty baby ribbon and wrapped them up and made it there by 2:15 p.m. I told the ladies that I brought 4 so they could pick which scent they wanted. I was expecting to bring back 2 but the ladies fell in love with them all and couldn't decide which one they wanted so I sold all of them. I was surprised and so happy!!! Now I can take my hubby out to a nice dinner.!!!!!

I just purchased some 1 oz. FO from AWE. Their special is 10 1 oz./$20.00 what a rip off. I sent them an email to make sure they corrected the amount because it doesn't reflect it. So they sent me an email saying they would credit me only $5.00 instead of $10.00. I asked why, but haven't received a reply. Has anyone else purchased the 1 oz. FO and were only credited $5.00? I have only ordered from them once before and this will be the last time.

I have a problem with a supplier and placed a second order thinking maybe they were swamped, but this seems to be consistent. I placed an order the 1st time and it took 4 1/2 weeks to get my order after emailing and calling them. They finally decided to send me my order. I guess I didn't learn my lesson, so I thought I would try and order once more and now it is almost 4 weeks and still no order. They had no problem taking money from my visa. I have called them and emailed them with no response whatsoever. I am going to talk to my bank and get a charge back. I have had it with these companies. We need to start a list of how good or bad the service is at these suppliers. I am not even sure how to do this...

As I understand Beeswax is the cleanest burning candle ever. I handroll beeswax sheets into tapers and have never seen any soot or had any drips.

I tried Happy dupe from Nature's Garden and it is very very light smelling. Once you open the bottle and can barely smell a citrusy scent and when I poured candles I used it in soy and paraffin, nothing. But the weird thing is that after 3+ months you can slightly smell it in the paraffin, but not in soy. I have 1 10 oz. candle left and after 6 months it hasn't improved. I am still searching for a stronger Happy scent, because I have customers that want this scent. Speaking of scents why do companies sell scents that barely smell. What is the point? Not sure if anyone can answer this, but come on....

i know chargebacks take a while to process. I had to have a chargeback done because I advertised in a local magazine and only agreed to two months instead of the normal four months, on a trial basis. I had just opened my store and wasn't sure if it was worth the money.. Anyway after the two months the magazine was still charging my credit card. I wasn't happy and I couldn't get a hold of the owner of the magazine after two weeks nothing. So I contacted my bank and they did a chargeback it was going to take 30-60 days to process and I had to have proof of the agreement, write a letter explaining everything. I finally got my money back and the magazine owner contacted me asking what was the problem. He had no recollection until I showed him our agreement.

I am curious to know what the black currant smells like?? Does it smell like a berry?

I was on vacation this past week and one gift shop was selling the WW Old Virginia candles. They had one burning on the counter. I got up close to it to see if I could hear the crackling fire it says it made. It did make a slight crackling noise and smelled awesome. I was impressed, but I did notice the wet spots on almost all of them. I also have noticed when I go into gift shops that have paraffin candle burning and put something around the inside of the jar. Not sure what it is it but it makes the soot not stick to the jar, does anyone know what it could be? I was thinking it might be vaseline or pam or something because it is glossy around the inside of the jar. And no soot.

When I get an order if I get a free sniffie it is gross... Yuck!!!! I must get the scent that they can't sell... They must not want me to buy from them again...

I have a supplier that I purchase items from that takes 4-5 weeks to get my order. I really hate it I thought I had been taken because I called & emailed and did this over and over until I finally got a call back. I was so mad. I finally received my items and was very happy but the wait is a killer. I am wondering if these suppliers are real companies that work 8-5 Mon-Fri. or if they do this on the side. I have questioned a few people if I can get them on the phone, as to how big their company is and alot of them say they do this part-time and have full-time jobs doing something else. That is why it can take a few weeks to get my order. That really sucks!

I am wondering if anyone has trademarked one of their products and if it was worth it? I make a couple different type of candles that I want to get trademarked. I really didn't even consider it until a few people started asking if I had them trademarked and said I better do or someone else will. Sorry I don't want to mention what they are, but they are very unique...

I sell them, but not too many people know what it is. I sell the electric candles and put some around the bottom for an added scent or just sell them in a clear bag tied off with raffia and a cinnamon stick.

I don't care for the globe, but I like the flame! Unless you had a slogan that mentioned you were "lighting the world" or something.
