  1. I don't know if there is a difference in color blocks or liquid dyes or not. I would assume there is some. We use the liquid color dyes and they work great in our palm wax so far. Occasionally we do get air pockets but only a few real gurglars.(we make palm container candles.....haven't been brave enough to try pillars yet.) I think Stella can give you a real good heads up on palm pillars along with some other really knowlegable folks that make palm pillars. Mike
  2. Good point Violet....I had forgotten that those jars are a different shape....thanks for the reminder and the heads up for billyne. They may not want to double wick those jars. Mike
  3. I think you will love the wax. You may want to double wick the 16oz. jars though. I currently use two CSN 9's in my 16oz. apothecary jars and they do a really good job so far with all fo's and colors(cross my fingers and knock on wood). However, the jars do get really hot with that combo. and I may wick down using the CSN 7's and see how that goes. Good luck with your new jars and enjoy using the GG palm wax..... Mike
  4. You had me wondering about that info. so I went back to their site and double checked. (my eyes aren't to open at the moment....long night at work) Here is the info. So for now anyways it is back in. Ready to Purchase? Select a Size: 10 lb. Bag $13.95 $1.40/lb. 55 lb. Bag $59.95 $1.09/lb. Price Breaks: 5-9 $58.95 $1.07/lb.
  5. CS Glass Glo is back....for now. I don't know how much they got in or how long it might last but at $59.95 probably won't last long. Thought those that like the CS GG might like to know it's in now. Mike
  6. CS first and then we also like the one from Enchanted Lites...it is also quite good. Mike
  7. We like the BCN Cinnamon Red Hot and the CS one really well. We think either one will work well for us.....HTHS! Mike
  8. We have had some bad blueberry muffins from two different suppliers that came in bad smelling and one oatmeal milk and honey....man was that awful:o Mike
  9. I would check out Wickit.net. They have really good prices everyday by the 1000. Mike
  10. While not all of NG's fo's work well some of them are really good and we use some of them in our palm wax containers as well as our soy containers. The ones that have done really well for us are: 1. Sweet Pea (This one is our number best selling fo of all) 2. Lilac (very good and sells well) 3. Hillbilly Homebrew (This one reminds me of Hot Baked Apple Pie...kind of) 4. Hot Baked Apple Pie (I like this one and it sells very well also) 5. Fresh Linen (a best seller) 6. Cucumber Melon(before they changed it) 7. China Rain (a best seller for us) 8. Spring Rain (another good seller for us) 9. Vanilla Silk(not very strong but a good seller) 10. Red Hot Cinnamon (very good but sells best during the fall) 11. Baby Powder (smells great but is not a hot seller??) Mike
  11. I take my wax from my presto pot and put it into my pouring pitcher and place it on my stovetop burner (on warm setting only). I put in my color and my fo and stir until my temp. builds back up to where it should bind together really good then pour into my container.....so far that has worked really well.... and no fires (yet!) Mike P.S. I use an infrared temp. gun and it works really good for this. Mike
  12. Thank you Dan...this helps us understand alot more of what is going on with the palm wax issue and some of the problems you guys have been having just trying to get us a really good product. Your posting is really appreciated. Mike
  13. It is very disappointing(violetsexoticcandles) and I don't disagree with that point of view. I am sure there are reasons that we don't know of as to why they keep running out. There may certainly be more demand for their palm wax than other suppliers palm wax and they weren't ready for the big surge in the demand for palm wax. I should have re-worded my post as it is kind of misleading. My point being that CS has built a strong customer base based on their customer service. They definately do not have bad customer service they are just having a difficult time getting the inventory for a new product in check. I believe that they will get it under control. You just can't out guess the buying public or in this case candle makers. Mike
  14. Hi GrannyEmily, Have you contacted CS and explained the situation to them? I believe that they are committed to having really good customer service and that they will be quite willing to help you if they can with this problem. I would definately call them A.S.A.P. and see what they can do to help you. Mike
  15. Hi blazerina, Palm wax is the hardest of all the natural waxes and as Judy said, has a higher melt point which may indeed make it harder to melt in a warmer. I know of no other additives added to palm waxes....I don't believe that there are any. I have been testing palm wax in 16oz. apothecary jars and the 8oz. jj . So far,I have used a lot less fo and have had better hot and cold throws with it than with 100% soy wax. I do double wick my apothecary jars with Candle Sciences CSN 9 wicks and use the same wick as a single wick in the jelly jars. Those wicks seem to do very well so far in any color and any fo. I am getting a clean burn in the apothecary jars with an excellent hot and cold throw. Now the single wicked jj I have had some sooting but only in one jar so far(knock on wood). I also get no hang ups in either jar....yay! HTHS! Mike
  16. I guess this is the result of really good customer service and a really hot product. CS has built a really good customer base and they really like the palm wax. I wonder if any of the other palm wax suppliers are having the same problem??? Mike
  17. CS's Black Cherry...it's the best one we have used so far. Mike
  18. We have ordered some stuff from them and have had no complaints at all....HTH! Mike
  19. I am looking for a program for the mac.(intel based) that I can use for making labels....kind of like the Avery Design Pro....but for mac only! Any suggestions would be very helpful....TIA! Mike
  20. I guess we could all be a little more lighthearted and so my apology goes out to Deb for maybe being a bit more serious than I guess I should be. Mike
  21. I think you may be onto something Stella....I probably actually trimmed my wick just a wee bit to short and I am thinking that is why it did what it did....but I have been wrong many times before. I guess I am kind of confused as to where the "20%" fo load came from....it was kind of out of the blue and wasn't expecting someone to say that and not back it up???? Mike
  22. Hi Deb,just to make a correction here....I never said that I use 20% fo load for any candles and was wondering where you got that information? If I posted that I used that amount I was probably 99% asleep and wasn't responsible for my actions. I have never used anymore than 1 1/2 oz. of fo for any candle that I make. I hope that clarifies and clears up your confusion about how much fo that I use. Mike
  23. LOL.....yes I do and yes I forgot....again. Thanks for the reminder Judy. The wick is a CSN 9 in an 8 oz. jj....HTH! Mike
