  1. I'm on The Whisk and Soap Dish Forum (although, the Dish is down right now). I think you'll find more HPers on The Dish.
  2. The only one that's not lip safe is the bug stick. It's family only getting these. Sorry to scare you!
  3. I'm glad you found someone local.
  4. I love tea tree. I've used it in soap with cocoa butter but I couldn't smell either over the neem oil. Tea tree and lavender is nice. DH likes Tea Tree at 1 oz PPO 'cuz he likes to feel his "skin bubble off". He'd probably like that b_ll burning salt bar.
  5. I'm such an enabler! But honestly, if you are even a little bit on the fence, just put it on your birthday/anniversary/holiday wish list. I absolutely love mine. I've even started making little .15 oz perfumes, bug sticks, and glitter sticks just so I can use it. I think everyone needs a lip balm sized cocoa butter stick...
  6. Microsoft Access has a ton of database templates. I keep our regular address book in Access and labels are a breeze.
  7. I bought one from another soaper and I love it!!! The "hardest" part is putting the tubes in and taking them out. When you get one, you're gonna do a happy dance!
  8. I love unrefined butter. The only advice I have is that you really can't cover the smell. I stick with EOs in shea. Lavender and Tea Tree are my favorites. I also add Neem oil. It definitely covers the shea smell! I've never had really green shea before. The closest I've had is an olivey color. Where is it from? I stick to Oils by Nature for mine.
  9. You definitely got it! Good job.
  10. You should convert everything to the same basic unit of measurement. Otherwise, it gets confusing. When I'm playing with batches, I work out the cost per batch. I keep it all straight in Excel, though.
  11. I had to show my ID when I bought lye a year or so ago but when I went a month ago, the salespeople were clueless. I don't give it a second thought.
  12. at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. It's a wood version of the Martha mold with 3 compartments. It's $25 and in with the organizing stuff. Would definitely need to be lined. Just sharing. It's not a pay week so I don't have a review. The dimensions on each compartment was 4" wide X 12" long X 2" high (I'm going from memory here so it's approximate).
  13. I've also found that if I'm more patient with the wax, I have less bubbles. Try melting your wax part way and forgetting about it for a little while. I *think* that causes the soap to stay at a lower temperature which keeps it a little bit thicker. At least that's what I tell myself and I've seen an improvement in my quality.
  14. I don't make candles. I bought a kit but used the jars and wax for B&B and soap instead. I did read a couple of threads about using a heat gun to smooth out the top. Fast forward to last night. DD3 wanted to give her teacher a candle. But she scratched the wax on the top ('cuz she's 3). She came to me in tears and I remembered the heat gun thread. It worked, DD stopped crying, and all was well in her happy world. Thank you!
  15. Right now, Target has ice cube trays shaped like fish. Maybe a little M&P fishie pal for her?
  16. I use silicone muffin pans. I have one with sloped sides and one with flat sides. I think one was WalMart and one was Christmas Tree Shoppe.
  17. That's odd. I've never had that problem. Any chance it's getting warmed up or re-melted? Do you have a cat that's sleeping next to the mold?
  18. Definitely take time to heal. FWIW, my Mom had 2 heart attacks before she was 40. She's in better shape today (nearly 60) than she was when she was 20 (her words). Take this time for you.
  19. My soap tends to be in the tan family. I can get purple from Alkanet infused oil and I have some herbs from Emporium Naturals that I NEED to play with. I'm not bothered by it because I know my stuff is natural. I mean compared to companies like Dove or Ivory...I'm not knocking folks that can make beautiful colorful soap!!
  20. That's similar to the press I got from www.soapwizards.com. I love it and I'm bath bomb challenged.
  21. Mine always floats. I don't know why. I'm probably incorporating air at some point. I don't use it as a selling point.
  22. Wow! I would buy all of those in a heartbeat!
  23. You make the most adorable things! Thanks for sharing.
