  1. Wood nymph or Sprite or Dryad?
  2. I have a Subaru Forester which is fine for shows if I don't have to bring tables, but if I do we take my friend's Honda Pilot and fold down the back seats -- that works great!
  3. Scented -- my husband sees an evil eye in your top bar! (me thinks this is a sign that I should be nicer to him! LOL!)
  4. I'm not sure if I should swivel my head or turn the laptop upside down! But they look so gooooooood I'll take 'em all so no one else has to suffer.
  5. WOW! That is an awesome red! I want, I want, I want! LOL
  6. My (or Your) Luscious Body? or D'Lishis Body?
  7. I know -- that surprised me, too. I looked at my local Costco and it wasn't there, eitheer. I have a couple of restaurant supply stores that I'm going to check out, otherwise it's online purchasing for me as well.
  8. Goodness you have been busy! What's your soap count at now?!? They look lovely... I'm partial to a great lavender myself so I would love one of those!
  9. oooooh I do like the sides! It's like what granite would look like.... on another planet.
  10. Sucky wicks are possible -- hey they are mass produced and like anything else can have flaws. You've got the right idea -- try is again and see whatcha get. I personally love ECO's because they are very reliable for me.
  11. Has that happened only with that one FO? If so there may just be something funky going on with the wax, FO and wick. You may find that FO just needs something different than the rest. Oh and are you using a dye? There have been cases in the past where the dye has screwed things up.
  12. Holy YUM! Girl that looks delicious! Gosh I hope that's for a swap that I'm in -- I've been so busy making other things that I'm running low on lotion/cream for my skin!
  13. Photoshop or some other form of digitial editing is the best way. Use can use the select tool and if there is enough color difference between the product and the "white" background, then the background will select and you can delete it out. A .jpg will leave the background a solid white, a .gif will leave the background transparent.
  14. Testing, testing and more testing. Almost done with Valentine's Day -- just need some LoveSpell and Victorian Rose -- those will be easy. Then it's more glass tumbler testing as well as a new square glass container that I would love to add in!
  15. I use GB415 and blend it with 4630 -- works well for me and I can pick both up at Peak's which means no shipping cost! I started out with C3 from Lonestar but the shipping cost changed my mind -- turns out I like the 415 better anyways!
  16. I searched around for a bit and finally ended up ordering from CandyLand Crafts. http://www.candylandcrafts.com/Extra_Thin_Confectioners_Foils.htm Here is another site I looked at as well: http://www.sugarcraft.com/catalog/candies/candyfoils/candyfoils.htm
  17. I've had mine for awhile now and experienced no problems. The spout is above the level of the coils, so I can't empty enough to expose them. I think that maybe if you were using a really hard wax there could be some potential for "squeezing" the coils, but I use a mix of soy and 4630 -- the wax is just too soft, even when set up, to put stress on the coils.
  18. I'm finishing all Valentine's Day stuff this weekend. So bath melts in three ifferent scents, French Amber Vanilla candles, probably some Victorian Rose candles, and some chocolate flavored lip balm to go in some neat heart-shaped lip balm containers from Brambleberry. Whew!
  19. I'm not a soapmaker, but as a consumer I prefer lather. It's a psychological thing -- if I can see the lather I know that the soap is on my skin and getting me clean. The one catch to that is I prefer lots of small little bubbles that stay over big poofy bubbles with no oompfh. The best of both worlds is lots of big bubbles that stay, stay, stay! HTH
  20. Getting the mushrooms with no FO doesn't surprise me - I asked mainly because of your sooting issues. I use ECOs and while the flames to tend to be a bit large (and I actually like them that way) I don't get any soot problems with them. Although wicks are very personal, try an ECO with no FO and see if you get the same result.
  21. Hi there! I'm not sure if the input you'll get will help. There is no "best" container wax -- it depends on many factors and you'll just have to play around with wax samples and decide what works for you. I started with paraffin but soon switched to soy... then progressed to a soy/paraffin blend. My suggestion is find a supplier near you who carries a few different varieties, get some samples and experiment!
  22. I'd be surprised if most people could tell how much volume any particular container could hold. You could just state that these containers are filled by weight and not volume and leave it at that.
  23. Thanks for the comments! Meredith -- if it helps Bossa Nova doesn't smell like lemon curd to me -- reminds me more of mango, actually. :rolleyes2 I picked up the heart tray at Hobby Lobby in the baking section -- it has 16 cavities and the melts slid out so easily! I am hooked and will look for different shapes every time I go back.
