Best Gingerbread or Gingerbread cookie scent?
Moneypenny replied to Belinda's topic in Fragrance Discussion
Hi Belinda! In my opinion, the best gingerbread ever is WYW Buttery Gingerbread from Bittercreek! One of my best sellers at Christmas time and it is very strong and in fact it is double concentrated so you use half of what you normally use! It is wonderful and strong and my customers really love it! -

Wow Belinda!!! Thanks so much my dear!! Yes this is my most favorite time of year too!! You sure have given me a lot to think about! Awesome!!! Yes you will want to switch to ICS Bear Claws and theirs is much stronger! I sell a lot of that myself! I have never tried Fragrance Buddy or Houston so I will definitely check those out for sure! Thanks so much!!! Love this board!! -
Hi everyone! I am really looking to add some new and exciting scents for Fall and Christmas this year and I was wondering what your "tried and true" favorites were! I use pure soy for my candles and soy blend for my tarts. I look forward to any and all suggestions! Thanks so much!!!

What FO supplier(s) do you see missing from this list??
Moneypenny replied to justajesuschick's topic in Fragrance Discussion
Hi Belinda! I noticed that you have ordered from Houston Candle Supply. Have you tried their Cherry Limeade? I have been looking everywhere for the best version of Cherry Limeade and they are the only ones that carry that scent. Thanks so much! -
In my humble opinion, the very best lilac I have found and it is beautiful in 100% soy is Rustic Esscentuals (KY) Fresh Lilacs! Wow it is amazing and always my top seller for this time of year! If it works this great in my 100% soy, I would think it would work in anything! Lol!! Just my .02!

Yes I get these all the time from all over and I delete them. However if they are persistent I tell them exactly what you said that they need to order through the website due to so much identity theft and that is when I never hear from them again either. You just can't be too careful!!!

Looking for a Scentsy Dupe - My Dear Watson
Moneypenny replied to Holly's topic in Fragrance Discussion
Save on Scents did a wonderful job on this one and the Ultra Concentrate is what I always get! Love it! I was drawn to this anyway because I love anything to do with Sherlock Holmes as well as James Bond! Lol! Thanks for letting us know about the Nature's Garden add though! I will check that one out too! -
Holy cow!!!! I had to read that three times to make sure what I was reading! Sounds like that would be appropriate to light with the 1812 Overature in the background, no cannon needed!!! I thought the pressure cooker soap was dangerous enough, this is far worse!! Oh I hope no one gets hurt trying this!! You are right dear friend, you should gather up loved ones and escape in that RV! Lol!! Wow!!!

Hi! This is just my .02. The 100% soy wax I use is very soft and I just use a butter knife to scrape the wax from the jar into the pour pot. I then put the pour pot into my presto pot and melt it on low heat so it does not get too hot and lose some of the scent. When it gets to pouring temp I then pour it back into the re-wicked jar and it is good to go again! It has always worked well for me and I hope I have helped you some! Best of luck!!

Wow!!! Amazing labels and I know I would be drawn to them imediately!! Very profesional and I agree with everyone that it is a very upscale spa look! You should really approach spas and salons with your line and provide samples and I think you might be surprised how well it is received! Samples get accounts every time! Congratulations! Dave you always make me smile!! You are hilarious and I feel blessed to call you friend! You always have excellent advice and the best humor! Best of luck!!!! -
Portable power for cash register at an outdoor show....
Moneypenny replied to Moneypenny's topic in Business Side of Things
Hi everyone! Thanks so very much for all of your very helpful recommendations!! I really do love this board! After careful consideration and conversation with my friend Melanie who owns the tea room, I believe I will be going with the battery powered cash register by Royal. I really love the Royal register I already have and I am sure it will be a great addition! Thanks so much and ((((((((hugs))))))) right back at ya Dave my dear friend!!!:smiley2: -
Hi everyone! I would love to have some advice on where I could acquire a portable power device to use to power a cash register at an outdoor show! Does anyone know where these are sold online? I ususally do not do outdoor shows but this show I am doing June 1st is just too good to pass up. A friend of mine who owns a popular tea room is hosting a spring market on the grounds outside her beautiful tea room! Hoping for great weather but I soooo need my cash register because it is just sooo much faster with transactions than the old fashioned hand ticket! Any information would be wonderful!! Thanks so much!!!

Importance of pouring temperature
Moneypenny replied to lashkla's topic in General Candle Making Discussions
Hi! Welcome to the wonderful worlds of candle making! Yes pouring temperature is very essential to the surface of the candle! I am not sure what wax you are using but I use pure soy and I have to pour very slushy or the surface is rough. The scent throw is effected by when you had the fragrance oil. If you add it when the wax is too cool, it will not bond and you will not get as much of a scent throw when burning. Selecting the proper wick also effects the scent throw as well and that will effect the burning time as well. Too large of a wick and it will burn too fast and too small and the wick might drown! It is essential to add the fragrance oil at the proper temp, pour the wax at the proper temp and select the proper wick to have the best candle. You only find this out by testing and testing and testing and did I mention testing! If you are using silcone or plastic you should know just how warm a temp it can handle so it does not melt. A candle is the perfect recipe of fragrance, wick, and wax. You have to "tweek" it to get that perfect balance and when you do, it is amazing! Have fun and hope this helps!! -
I have to agree that the Bear Claws does not smell like Bear Claws to me because of the chocolate! I get mine from ICS (Indiana Candle Supplies) and it is awesome in pure soy and soy blend alike!

I don't have too many of JS oils but what I do have: Chestnuts and Brown Sugar Japanese Cherry Blossom Black Cherry These are all very strong in 100% soy and soy blend! I just got Bahama Mama and have been very impressed with it in my lotion, it smells just like hawaiian tropic to me! Love it and plan to put in my wax very soon! Have fun!!!
