  1. Unfortionatly, I can't help with the how, except to say that I like the ice candle idea. I grew up with M.E. and love it! My mom is the biggest fan in the world I think. Would love to see pics of what you create and if I come up with anything, I'll let you know. Life is just a chair of bowlies... Sara
  2. I love the idea of a money candle! Someone got me one years ago~it was shaped like a star and I believe it had $5 rolled up in tin foil. Would love to attempt it, but don't have the spare cash to put in (darn supplies!). Good luck if you try it...and post some pics, would love to see! Sara
  3. Very Pretty ~ the candles and the kitty! PS. I got a Smudge too...
  4. I've e-mailed a few artists about using artwork of theirs I found online. All 3 wrote me back..1 said no because her pictures are on (I believe) IStock and they hold the rights, (don't know if it's true or not, but it sounded good at the time) and the other 2 said sure no problem. This was a while ago though, and one even sent me a disk of pictures that he'd taken (outdoor and landscape prints). It never hurts to ask and even if they say no, at least you'll have your answer, (and they'll do it nicely). HTH, Sara
  5. Not a soaper here but wanted to tell you that those look AWESOME!!
  6. Hey ~ did you take that from my sunporch? (lol) I got the same containers last year (dollar tree) to do the citronella candles too. Yep, it sure is a pain to fill, but worth it in the end. Looks great!!
  7. I don't use that one, but have one similar to it (has 2 sheer sides and 2 solid sides with an air vent on top) that we got for a Ren. Faire and boy was it a pain in the azz to get up! BUT it was/is very pretty and fit right in at that faire. I don't use it for regular shows and farmers markets because of the difficulty putting it together ~ ez ups all the way for those! Sara Oh yeah, I think we're going to take it and put it up in the backyard and put our table and chairs under it...
  8. ok, so DH's coming home tomorrow, and I'm trying to come up with an edible massage oil, (BIG thank you to MJandJoshsMommie for posting her recipies!!). On hand I have some sweet almond oil and flavor oils (and sweetener). Is it ok to use SAO instead of sunflower oil? Don't have time for shipping (and we gotta get to babymaking...) Also, glycerin...think I can get it at the drug store or grocery store? From what I understand, that's what gives it the ability to warm, (right). Can ya' tell I have no idea what I'm talking about??:embarasse TIA, Sara
  9. SHOOT: I POSTED IN THE WRONG SECTION!! SORRY!! ok, so DH's coming home tomorrow, and I'm trying to come up with an edible massage oil, (BIG thank you to MJandJoshsMommie for posting her recipies!!). 10. Hey all, I'm looking into making the herbal/scented warmers, (really bad cramps and hubby has bad back) and was wondering if instead of dried herbs I could use flax seed with a few drops of EO or FO? (Cheaper that way, and we're broke!) TIA for the help! Sara
  11. I'm not sure if either of these is what you're looking for, but hope it helps! http://www.azardisplays.com http://www.candlesandwoodcrafts.com/woodendisplays.html Sara
  12. I got them from SKS and love them, (got the 8 oz square & round and 4 oz square). I use the round for wickless and they heat up nice and quick, and I love the clear tops cause you can actually see what's in it as opposed to the regular tops. Not a lot of help, but my 2 cents. (sorry) Sara
  13. It's my belief that she started THIS thread to get pointers/tips and ideas on how to IMPROVE her customer service. I think that it's commendable (sp) and can find no fault in that. Its along the same lines of asking for advertising tips if you tried one way and it didn't work out. It's all just looking for help, which is what this forum is supposed to be about.
  14. Ok, so I'm gonna be banished from the boards now, but I read the original thread that everyone keeps talking about and ya' know what...it's a done issue, move on! Jenny probobly started this thread to get some tips on how to improve service, and I can't fault her for that, (and neither should any of you). I don't care if you've been in business for 1 year or 20, there are always things that you can learn and there shouldn't been any feeling of embarassment about asking for help! I've probobly said enough now to never get help again when I ask a question, so I'm off to hide my head. Oh yeah, HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!!!!!santa chee I hope that your holidays are filled with love, cheer, family and fun!
  15. Good Morning! I do chocolates, fudges and spreads, (as well as the candles and b&. I do my gift certificates like AJ since I use Mals too. On my site it says that there is a charge for the shipping, but sending it via e-mail has no charge. Check me out if you feel so inclined. HTH, Sara
  16. Hey Sharon, Yep, I use regular cheap printer paper. Works fine. HTH, Sara
  17. Hey Scentlady ~ It's completely possible to do a four-sided one. I did one as my very first Hurricane attempt. Here it is... You do have to move fast, but if the sides start to cool before you're done, zap them with the heat gun. Pm me if I can help any! Sara
  18. Hey Ginger, I feel your pain! I get so toungetied and just want to hide under the bed. I do farmers markets and craft shows, (because I'm able to con my hubby into going with me ~ it's easier with him their). Even talking to people on the phone freaks me out. I had to call back the organizer of a Bluegrass Festival and got so nervous it sounded like I was speaking in tounges. On an up note though, my nervousness was a great icebreaker... Back in January, I had a few extra heart shapped candles and thought I'd bring them up to the flower shop here in town. Sat in my car for 1/2 hour trying to build up the courage to go inside and talk to the owner. The stupid thing.......the owner is my next door neighbor! Ok, I don't really know what to tell you, (which is probobly why I don't have wholesale accounts) but wanted to let you know that you are not alone in this in any way! Hugs to ya, Sara
  19. We have a Ren. faire coming up and I didn't know what to do ~ but I found some celtic scent/color blends with their meanings. The sandalwood was just for fun, (although I'm not a fan)! The blue ones are scented lavendar for harmony and happiness and the green ones are scented cinnamon for fortune. I just did purple ones scented pine for protection and prosperity, so we'll see how they turn out. I know they're not great, but thought I'd share. Sara Pardon the mess in the background....:embarasse
  20. Hey all, It's late, and I'm drugged, so I hope this makes sense... I'm learning Dreamweaver, (on my own and banging my head against the wall)!! 1) How do you set the site to fit each individual computer? I know there's a way to do it so that it looks the same and right on all different resolutions, but I can't seem to remember how. 2) And this is the stupid one...in Dreamweaver, do you set up each page as a different document, or is there a way to have different pages in one? I want to thank all you computer geniuses in advance!! Have a wonderful night, Sara
  21. Got asked if I would do a Renaissance fair while we were at the Farmers Market on Saturday, and really want to, (depending on what the dr. says about my knee on Thursday). Has anyone here done one before? I'm trying to figure out some cute things to do, but my mind is just drawing a blank. Any ideas would be, (in the words of my teenage sister...) "uber-cool". Thanks so much, Sara PS. I think the only reason I want to do it is cause we have to dress up!!
  22. Thanks all, I'll keep an eye on their site for a sale. Ashlie: thanks for the site. I had never heard of them before. If you don't mind my asking, how is their quality? I made the mistake of buying a few Cozy Up candle warmers, and most of them broke while moving them to shows. Just want to make sure these are more durable. Amiee: They don't list the prices on the site, but you can e-mail them to become a wholesaler and they'll send you a user name and password to access the prices. Oh, and I'm off to Joannes tomorrow. Thank again, Ya'll are great! Sara
  23. Hey All, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!! I'm looking into candle warmers and was looking at Levine, but while they're cute, they seem to be expensive. For those of you that purchase from them, is it worth it? I'm just wondering if I'd be able to get back the cost of the warmers + some, or would it be a waste? TIA to all who can help and if anyone knows of any other sites, it would be great. Have a wonderful day!!! Sara
  24. Do ya'll just use regular 8 1/2 x 11 paper folded in half? Yeah, I know, dumb as a sack of hammers....
