  1. ohh, now that makes sense! Sorry for the silliness and thanks again for your help! Have a great weekend, Sara
  2. Thanks Mystical, I'll check it out! Do you know what the difference is between the Sweet Almond Oil and Sweet USP Almond Oil? Sara
  3. cool, thanks! Now for another stupid question...what is the website address? I googled, but found a lighting company... (I'm a little slow today, I think my physical therapist tried to kill me!) Sara
  4. Eugenia...you are a lifesaver! Thanks so much for that information-they have both of what I was looking for and their a LOT less expensive then BC. One more quick question for ya--would the natural work for a body butter, (10 oz shea/6 oz almond oil)? thanks again, Sara
  5. Mica in candles or is that just a fire waiting to happen? We have a store opening here thats a bridal and prom boutique, and I want to try and make up some glittery pillers and such to see if she's interested in placing them in her shop, but want to be safe. Any thoughts or ideas would be great! Have a wonderful weekend! Sara
  6. Hey all, I'm trying to figure out where the best place to purchase Shea Butter and Sweet Almond Oil is? Peaks only does the candle supplies, and I know everyone has their own place...I'm just trying to get ideas as to where to go. (BC seems kind of expensive). Any thoughts would be great! Have a wonderful weekend!! Sara
  7. Cool Beans! Thanks to all who responded ~ you've just made a very happy person! Sara
  8. I have a friend here from out of town and she asked me about making a dup of BBW's Cool Citrus Basil. Anyone know of a good mix formula to come up with that one? It looks like Peaks is only for candles and soap, but she's looking for me to do it in lotions for her. Any help would be great! Thanks, Sara
  9. Jeana, I use it for my site, and I think it's ok. There are some 'quirks' to it though...unlike Frontpage and the other big ones, Web Easy doesn't change the website size to fit the screen resolution of those looking at it, (I.E. when I set it up, I set it to 800x1200, which is fine for my computer, but my dad who has his resolution set at 1280X1024 can see the whole site, but it doesn't fill the whole page). Also, make sure you check it on different resolution screens. While it may look fine on your computer, some things may be overlapping on others. This is a problem that is easily fixed, just a pain to remember to check each time you change something. What I do is have family members with different resolutions check it before I send out an e-mail saying things have been added, changed, ect. I hope that helps, and if you have any other questions about this software, ask away! Sara
  10. Hey Sudsnwicks, (your name is just too cute!) Thanks for the info, that was exactly what I was wondering about! If you don't mind, can you pm me with the company that you get them from, (if not, I completely understand!)? Thanks again, Sara
  11. Starting to make body butter (from BC's base) and a sugar scrub, and was wondering if anyone used any of these 4 oz containers. If so, which do you think is best, the low profile, or the regular sized ones? Thanks, I'm just very confused today! :embarasse Sara
  12. According to the USPS website, the boxes are still $7.70. I really hope they don't go up!
  13. One of the stores here in town lost his lease, and I made the mistake of going in the other day. He had boxes of incense burners with brass inlays for a steal! I don't sell incense (yet) but my father convinced me to buy 2 boxes (almost 1000 burners). I suppose I can't get mad at him, if nothing else, they'll make great freebies. I'd never even thought of adding them to my line of product, but you never know when a good thing is going to fall in your lap! Off to the orthapedist to find out why I can't move my knee.... Have a wonderful day! Sara
  14. I e-mailed her just as Shani did, I know she read it (requested a read receipt) and haven't heard back. It just astounds me that people are this cheap, (and my parents thought I was conniving in my teen years )
  15. Hello all, Just wanted to give a heads up about an e-mail I got earlier.... "Please send me a free catalog and possibly samples at: Bobbie Bonte 68 Ronald Drive Montreal, Quebec Canada H4X 1M8 Thanks! Bobbie" Not sure if this one's hit others off this board yet, but I've tracked him/her back through 2002. Have a wonderful evening! Sara
  16. My sister in laws, husbands niece is a rep for "cookie lee jewelry" and got my info from my sil, (who has a way of forcing things on you...). But she contacted me about selling my candles and bath & body stuff on consignment at craft shows that she does. She's in MT and we're in VT, so while it would be a way to get my products to an entirely different area, I'm just not sure, (then again, I can't make up my mind on anything...anyone know what I want for christmas???) What would you do in my position? TIA, Sara
  17. Anyone have any tips or instructions on how to make the heart cutouts wax heart candle lanterns.jpg from Candle Mans post? That is just too cool. This is bad, I haven't finished my Christmas presents yet and want to start these. Thanks for any advice! Sara
  18. Hey there, Thanks for the advice. She's drawing up a contract tonight and I'll check it out tomorrow when I go. The rest of it I think I have answers to, but will get it all in writing tomorrow. Beth ~ thanks for the heads up on the S3 form. I had never heard of it, and this is my first consignment thing. (I prefer wholesale too; don't have my candles anywhere, but someone has my candy and fudge in her shop--it's much easier!). Thanks again for all the words of wisdom! Sara
  19. Hey All, So we had a HORRIBLE craft fair this past weekend, (two day show, was told that it would be a big one and that there would be "20 new vendors"...what a load of ****; there were 18 vendors total and none of us made much at all:mad:). Although, I did have someone come up and ask if I would be interested in putting my candles and bath & body in her new shop. UHH, duh, yes! So I stopped to talk to her after the fair and she told me that she would take 30% of the sale price. Her husband was working on a new shelving unit for my stuff and I'm supposed to drop it off with her tomorrow. So my question for you consignment geniuses is...is 30% normal and is there anything else I need to watch out for? TIA, Sara
  20. Hey Prairieannie and Tess, Thanks for the advice on Sams Club. Unfortionatly, there isn't one near me, I'd have to drive about 1 1/2 hours. Angied ~ Pm-ing you now. Thanks, Sara
  21. I sell a lot of the 4 oz tins at craft shows, mainly 4 for $15.00. People just love a deal!
  22. Hey all, My hubby and I have been pulling our hair out turning one of the rooms in our house into a store. Things aren't going exactally as planned, (we were trying to be up and running on Wednesday, as our town in having a big Holiday Shopping Kickoff), but our sign won't be done for a few weeks. Originally I was going to just use my regular cash box, (I really don't know if we will get a lot of traffic), but have been thinking about maybe getting a cash register. Anyone know of a good place to get an inexpensive one? Also, should we wait until our sign in done, or should we still try to open on Wed with a makeshift sign? Thanks all, I think I'm more confused than I've ever been! Sara
  23. Hey Paulette, If you sign into your bravenet account, look under registered services until you find Guestboook. If you click on that it will take you to another page that has Edit Messages. From there you can delete it. HTH, Sara
  24. I'm with Donita ~ my UPS guys come between 2-3 everytime and leave boxes in the sunporch. BUT he doesn't always ring the bell, so if I'm not out there making candles, it's kind of a surprise to see the box there, but it's great that he'll leave them there when I'm not home.
