hotmama
Yes, it's the dupe for BBW and it's very pretty! I poured the 6" candle last and it's a little more purple than the other two...don't know why, it's from the same batch, just different day (?) Howdy fellow Oregonian! Wessex
They look very nice! Played with the tortoise-shell a bit, but went with the Feather, Starburst and Featherburst (found them easier to wick). Yours turned out a bit better than any I tried.Cheers,Steve

cedar_lea
I love the sheen. I don't think I'd seen palm looking quite like that before. Do they look like annodised metal in person? Also another Hello from Oregon. Did you enjoy your snow? My mom's down on the south coast too and she said she got some. Stella1952
I love the sheen. I don't think I'd seen palm looking quite like that before.Palm wax pillars can be polished with an old tee shirt to a high gloss. I wait 5-7 days for feathering or starburst to allow the crystals to harden. Tortoise shell polishes up prettier than the other two types because of the pattern difference. cedar_lea
See . . . . now I want some of that! I have an obsession with gold candles & I know I can blend a good gold color . . . in fact I could probobly make bronze and amberguise and pewter and silver . . . and and and. . . . These forums are horrible! Always giving me another thing to want to do!

LeahRB
Beautiful!! What dye did you use to get that gorgeous color?
hotmama
The tortoise palm wax was hit and miss when I first started making them but then I finally found a blog about the proper pouring temp and re-pour method that FINALLY made them a success. I used paper towels to polish these just after unmolding them but rubbing them with my hands does the trick too. I just wish my pillars sold as well as my jars, but oh well! They're fun to make! hotmama
I just used a combo of purple and blue liquid dye from Cierra Candles. I suppose any liquid dye would work though.
