Budwiser

I'm making some Beer Soap this weekend with some Budwiser beer, my question is when you market the soap can you say what brand of beer its made from or it's just beer? If you use the name of the beer company are there any monetary or legal obligations to them? I don't mean to put the name on the label but if someone ask what brand of beer it is.

I wouldn't use it in my marketing without their permission. But, if someone asked what brand I used, I don't think that would be a problem. Just don't advertise it without their approval.

I ALWAYS put the beer name in the ingredients section of my label.

I wouldn't market my soap as Budweiser soap but I would make sure to put it in the ingredient list.

I'd list 'beer' in the ingredients.

And if someone asked me what beer is was I'd reply... Bud... Wise... Errrr!

I have made and tested beer soap for some time, and always use whatever is on hand. So on my label I use generic "beer". If I ever get a question from a customer, I simply tell them I use whatever is on hand. It never goes farther than that.:tiptoe:

Great, thanks everyone, thats what i was thinking, I just happen to have some Bud on hand so thats what I'm using...lol. :rolleyes2 Don't want to waste the good stuff yet till I see how my tester batch turns out.

I say what kind it was.. if they asked me to stop I would.. but I cant see really why they would. I say "made with Corona beer".

I dont show a photograph of the corona though

Yeah, putting the beer name on the label could be helpful if there's a certain market you're aiming for.

Another idea... I was at a local micro-brewery and a soaper had made bars with their specific beer and was selling them there. I don't know if you have any local breweries, but using local might be a nice niche.
