Brat
Hi there. Made a few containers this afternoon. I used IGI-4630 Harmony blend, a few drops of Peak's coffee color, just over an ounce per pound Chestnuts and Brown Sugar. There is some funkiness going on there, and I'm not sure what it is. Is this normal? It turned out to be a one pour, I had saved some for a 2nd pour, but turns out I didn't need it! So I poured it in 2 votive holders. Anyway, lemme know what you think! Thanks! SatinDucky
You got the brainy look. Personally I think it looks neat. As for the burning one, looks like it's in a strong draft.....
siberia
Nice! Is this Chestnuts and Brown Sugar from JS? If so, that is an extremely heavy FO. The first time I used that in soy at my usual rate it leaked like crazy! I had to cut way back.
The_Dallas_Texas_Dean
I am not sure what to tell you that is. I have not had that happen with that particulor wax. The only thing I can think of is maybe it wasn't mixed well enough???????Any other ideas Guys??
Brat
They've actually got smooth tops, doesn't look like it in the pic though. It's just a brainy coloring, I guess. And they don't smell all that much, course maybe it's my nose not working at the moment. I stirred it for a while, but it very well could have used more. I set them on the floor for a pic, so they were right under the a/c vent... that's why that one's flame is sideways! My desk is just too messy for me to take a pic and post it! SatinDucky
Ahh, now that I look closely at the shine on the nottom one, I can see it is smooth. Very odd looking. Big help, huh? LOL

I couldn't smell it at my house, so I took it over to mom's this morning and still nothing. I have to be right there waving my hands in front of it to get any scent. Oh well, guess I'll melt them down and add more!
Crying Moon
Mine have looked like that when they cool too fast. Don't know if you did it or not, but try putting them all close to each other and putting a box over them to cool. The longer it takes to cool, the smoother they will look. Darwin
To me, they kind of look like pies. I bet they smell great!
Gaye
You may have poured too hot...but to remedy the tops...you could wait until it cooled and then do a tiny repour...that would certainly take away the look and give you a smooth finished top. donna4909
I always get this with my IGI 4614A. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong?Anyway, a repour should fix you right up. Always works for me.Made some votives tonight, and here's what my pour pot looked like after the remaining wax cooled:
Patsy
I get this too from 4630, so went back to 4786. Just made some candles with Chestnuts & Brown Sugar and cold throw is bad, hot throw is mild.
Donita
I get a ripple in my wax for embeds and chunks if I add additives like vybar to certain waxes.....sometimes, I have been able to smooth them out with the heat gun. I think they look good....just like pies that come out of the oven. Delicious!!!!!! Donita
