ah-soy
Well with 3 whole batches of HP under my belt...wooohooo...I'm ready to buy a real mold. The empty Stouffers Family Size Lasagne tray just isn't cuttin' it any more but does leave a nice recycle triangle stamp on the bottom/top of my soap It makes exactly a 2 lb batch which is good for me, but I think I remember reading about mold that converts from 2lbs to 4. Did I dream this? Anyway, suggestions welcome...I prefer a mold that doesn't need lined...TIA
CareBear
Soapmaker Man has a convertable mold on etsy.com (search for TOG). But I don't know how his flexible liners do with HP (it might mush them around too much). The kelsei log is a nice 2#er
Fire and Ice
Are you looking for wooden molds? If you are, I can give lots of links that I have saved for when I buys molds.I looked around on Ebay first. Type WOODEN log mold when you do the search or you'll get 1,000 returns on that search! There are some very reasonable molds out there. I can't see paying for something like Soap Hutch yet but maybe in 2009Fore me personally, good, solid wood log molds will do just fine! But I'm more than happy to share my linksFire
ah-soy
Thanks Care Bear...those are the ones I thought I'd dreamt up! Fire, I would love your links for molds...thank you!
mystical_angel1219
You can use many things around the house. Line them with freezer paper.Pringles cans, milk cartons, boxes- what have you. If you want a cheapo mold that will work for soap, go to Kmart and get a Martha Stewart drawer organizer. They are under 10.00, I believe. They are referred to commonly as "Martha molds". You can make soap in a shoe box, to be honest.
DebbieTX
I just bought mine from Jeff here. He made me an eight pounder with a lid and I dont need a liner. I think he will custom make any size you need...he could chime in here. Cant wait to get my mold...should be here any day. This is my Valentine's gift....tee hee...like that's all hubby is going to get me...

mystical_angel1219
I had a Mission Peak mold- it is essentially the exact same type as Misty Creek. I think the MC mold was a bit heavier. I believe Anhoki from the Dish, has a mold site that sells this exact same mold for a lot less money. Creekside molds are extremely well made.Great mold. I recently ordered two 4 lb wooden log molds from ebay seller Frumpz Creations item # 270194566178. I am going to line them with funky foam and mylar, they were 18.00 for two molds, plus shipping. I really missed my wooden logs! Now if I didn't go and sell my FCS cutter, I'd be smiling. LOL!!

mystical_angel1219
^^^^^^^^^^^^He has something posted about tornado damage and closed for a while.I emailed him about something and haven't heard back, from a few weeks ago. I know he was mega swapped with orders before Christmas.
Scented
Well that really sucks because I bought a mold mid-December and never received it. Don't think I'll be waiting around for it either.

Angel91805
I ordered my TOG mold on the 1st of Jan. I would have thought it would have mailed out that week, but I guess it didn't. Who knows how long it'll take before it gets mailed now that they've had tornado damage. You'd think an email would go out to all the people with outstanding orders, huh?Donna
Steph in tx
I ordered a Econo Mold and Beveler from Paul. Mailed a check and order Dec. 6, 2007, it didn't get cashed till Dec. 21, 2007!! He called DH's cell phone, because he couldn't get thru my emails? (didn't have problems before) or find a address to send my mold & beveler to?? (This was after Christmas!) I received my mold & beveler on this past Monday, 1-07-08. I love the workmanship! Can't wait to try it out! BUUUUTTT I didn't find the liner in the mold!! I wrote to him Monday night about this, but hadn't heard anything back. I PM'd him this morning. Now I can understand him being extremely busy for Christmas, and I can understand about being down for tornado damage. But I had no idea till I came here!! I will use freezer paper till I get my liners :rolleyes2 . I wish him all the best and hope all will be o.k. for him! I'm just a little disappointed with this transaction. :tiptoe:
Scented
I wouldn't hold my breath!:lipsrsealApparently it's been ready for mail, but hasn't gone out because of the tornadoes, which I didn't know about till coming here yesterday and I'm a state over. Crazy thing the news is. Odd thing is I emailed him from his etsy site, which was blank when I looked except for a cream colored background, and he said he never got the message. Beats me, because it's still in my sent box. I'd rather have the mold so I hope to receive it. Since someone mentioned here that he sustained damage, I hope it wasn't too bad and I'm sorry to hear it.
Kim L
I ordered a TOG mold through etsy on December 25th. I emailed twice to see when he thought it would ship. Finally received an answer on Saturday that it would ship on Tuesday and I would receive a tracking number from USPS on Tuesday. Well, here it is Wednesday and nothing. Can anyone recommend another company that has molds that compare to the TOG molds. I had planned on order a couple more if I liked it, but not at this rate. I could understand if he had to build each mold as it is order but according to the site they are available at the time the order is placed. Scented
Well mine has arrived safe and sound. I know there were others being sent, but was only pre-occupied with mine. Apparently not all emails go through to him, because he said he never got mine, but it was sitting in the sent file. We ended up doing discussions through paypal so you can long into there and see if there are messages etc. That way nothing got lost on either end. Angel91805
Well??? How do you like it?? I was going to PM you today to see if you got it.I emailed Paul last week and got, what I read to be, a slap on the wrist. Seems I didn't wait until my 10-14 business days were up before I emailed him. Maybe it's me...but if you got 1 available for sale.....and it's bought, then all it needs is packaging, right? Why's it take 10-14 days to package it up unless it wasn't built already? I'm hoping DH can duplicate it if I really love it. So, I'm waiting 21 calendar days to see if it mails by the 14th "business" day. Oh damn....the 21st is MLK day.....DANG IT....now it'll be another day! HeheheDonna
Scented
LOL! I just got it and haven't used it yet. Have been working long hours (apparently drunk with all my typos in the last post lol!) I am planning to use it and think it will be a treasure ... Hoping so as I think doing three logs at one time would help with restocking more quickly. TIAThere is the possiblity that both phone and electric are still out from the tornados. If he does have some service, it m ight be sporatic as well. Tornadoes can take several weeks to clean up from and get untilities restored. The mail and UPS could also be having some problems in his area as well.As far as molds, I gave a huge list of many of the main suppliers of molds except for Upland molds, although they will be back in business late next month. Soap Hutch is back up and it's a two to three month waiting period on his molds. The list is on the first page of this thread.
8-GRAN-ONES
I looked at the Soap Hutch Molds....they really look nice...but the are on the expensive side...especially when you don't have a business. But that does not mean that some day I just might break down and buy one...Hope everyone gets their Tog molds.I have the 12/24 and so far I really like it.. Kim L
Thanks everyone. Got an email from him Wednesday evening saying I should have the USPS tracking number by the end of the day. Well here is it 12:24 a.m. and guess what..........no tracking number. I don't get it. I agree completely if it states on etsy that he has "1 available" then dang it, it should be available for them to go in, get it off the shelf and get it in the mail. I understand that with the problems they have had with the tornados that could very well cause a delay and he told me that it had, but assured me it would ship on Tuesday. Now it's Thursday and apparently it still hasn't been mailed. I had read so many nice things about his molds on this board I thought I would give him a try even though he had some negative feedback on esty about how slow he is to ship. I just hope the mold is worth it in the end. Thanks for letting me vent (my husband appreciates it too - that means I'm not bending his ear over this, lol). Kim L
